After the ceremony the royal couple went into the Industrieele Groote Club to meet survivors of the war. 20.000 people were present on a packed Dam square.

A clip of the royals:

Nice that they invited the Canadian PM and his wife, considering the role of Canada in the liberation of our country.

A nice and solemn ceremony. Good speech from Ahmed Aboutaleb, the Moroccoan-born Mayor of the second largest city of the Netherlands (Rotterdam).

Poignant indeed Jacknch, even more so since yesterday was Remembrance Day again, and there's no thread on the 2016 ceremony here,at all....

It was all beautifully done, very moving, very impressive.

And in Rhenen at the Grebbeberg, venue of fierce fighting in the early days of WW II it was HRH Princess Margriet and Mr.Pieter and their 3rd son HH Prince Pieter-Christiaan who were in attendance.
