I'd love to be in Amsterdam or one of the other major Dutch cities during a Koningsdag celebration as it seems to be very fun! It was great to see the photos of the family today and all the AAA's have grown up so quickly. Amalia has blossomed into a beautiful young woman and Alexia is almost a clone of Maxima. I also noticed in this photo that Ariane now has braces which is something I hadn't seen before.

The family seems to be really enjoying themselves! All three girls seem quite happy and confident mixing with the crowds. I agree that Alexia strongly resembles Maxima, while Ariane reminds me of her father.

Those pictures of Maxima hugging & kissing that girl warmed my heart. What a Queen <3
I am pretty sure, a decade or so earlier, I would have been as overwhelmed meeting her/Queen Leti or CP Victoria.
And the A-team is just A class per usual. Love this family. The King & Queen really show that despite their extremely busy schedule (I don't think a consort currently travels as much as Queen Maxima) really seem to have cultivated an extremely close relationships with their daughters.

wow, how the girls have grown! amalia looks like a woman now, she is almost as tall as maxima, who doesn't strike me as a short person. alexia is a carbon copy of maxima!

Great photos. Does anyone know the story behind why the Queen kissed the little girl's forehead? Thanks

The little girl was overcome with emotions because she saw Queen Máxima. Queen Maxima asked her why she was crying and when she told her, Máxima gave the girl a hug and a kiss on the forehead. And the girls brother got pictures with a lot of members from the dutch royal family. So talk about a good day for that family!

I haven’t followed the Dutch Royal family closely, so I have a question. I noticed the King’s cousins participating in the events. Is this typical?
