I recognised them all.The Lady at then Princess Juliana's right is Freiin Gosta von Amsberg, mother of the late Prince Claus, spouse of Queen Beatrix.
A dorment thread that needs to be in the spotlights again to give an idea of how previous Investitures went and with great pics and footage!

I can't remember which thread posted a video of Queen Beatrix's enthronement, but I found it interesting that as she is reading her prepared speech, the papers are held together with what appears to be a regular paper-clip. I wonder if Willem-Alexander will do something different.

There will be an exhibition, starting may 11th,on the Royal House of Orange Nassau and the Nieuwe Kerk, emphasizing on the Inauguration ceremonies the past 200 years.
But before that, there's this...The Nieuwe Kerk all ready and decorated for the Inauguration ceremony, a 360o fantastic image!

Thought I'd share some of the pics I made of the exhibition..It was odd that no pics were allowed of the dresses cq uniforms worn by previous Monarchs..very odd...
As I said,it was almost impossible to make pics of the dresses and uniforms of previous Monarchs, without any given reason by the less then interested non-Dutch guards..so yes..Come and tell me that....So
Some pics, but bad quality, sorry for that"

Yes, the monarch must be at least 18 to be invested as Head of State. If he/she succeeds to the throne before reaching that age, the royal prerogative is exercised by a regent.

The Dutch regalia are rarely seen but thankfully are on display at the enthronement ceremonies.
The crown was created in 1840 for King Willem II but has never been worn and is merely symbolic.

There is another crown, made for William I, which is an even cheaper version made of gilded copper. It is thought to be an old funeral crown of the stadholders.
