Hi, people! I'm from Argentina and I'm following all the Dutch Royal's visit with a deep feeling in my heart. Maxima lived only three blocks from my flat, so she was almost a neighbor for me.
Some minutes ago, I saw in TV His Majesty Beatrix and the Princess Wilhelm and Maxima visiting Tres Arroyos, a city from Argentina were there is a huge Dutch colony. Very nice indeed. Now, they are going with our First Lady, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and the vice-president Daniel Scioli , to the Colon theater, where they'll hear opera and classic music.
The Queen and the Princes are all three beatiful people!
Vanesa.

Hi Alejandro, and Welcome!!!

For the same reasons that we have when carrying our yerba and mate to travel abroad, even though nobody in those countries drinks it -with the only exception of Viggo, of course-??
She wears hats in almost every event she attends to, so it is absolutely normal for her to wear hats here eventhough we are not used to wear them in Argentina.:)
And it is a real pity that she and the Queen did not wear tiaras at Teatro Colon!!!!! :( I would have loved to see those tiaras at a Colón Gala!!!!!:)

In defence of the Queen, her hats are like her hair: a trademark of sorts; even if you see a siolhouette of her, you know it's the Queen. They tend to command a certain air about her...a regal presence, if not a dominating one. I think they are ideal for a female sovereign in a (still pretty much) male-dominated world: strong, bold and eye-catching (and holding, really...)!
Besides, they seem to be very aerodynamic a well (some of them almost UFO-like) - when last did ANYONE see her losing her hat in the wind???

Have you heard the anecdote of Maxima's aunt? She lives in Tres Arroyos, but not being Dutch, she wasn't invited to the ceremony there. She talked to the consul, but due to protocol rules, they couldn't squeeze her in to see Máxima... so, the press people accredited to the event, managed to smuggle her in, and had her sitting with them where she could have first-row view of the Queen and the Princes. She winked at Maxima while this was walking past, Maxima looked surprised and waved back smiling at her aunt! I thought it was cute!

Maxima looked great in the theatre. I have never seen her looking more smashing then during this visit! The necklace is from the Melliero Ruby parure. The dress is simply stunning!
The Queen was interviiewed by the press yesterday (without cameras) and she said she was very proud of her daughter-in-law, while smiling from ear to ear (apetrots = as proud as a monkey). She also said that Maxima visited the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo when she was in Argentina for micro credit! I never heard this before but I am happy to hear this.

I like the pink dress very much! I like to see Máxima with pink cloths, it goes well with her skin.
I don't like this last white "cowboy" hat.
I didn't know Máxima visited the mother of the Plaza de Mayo, but if she did it's a pitty we can't see that in pictures.

Maxima & the Queen looked stunning last night. Beautiful dresses.
Good news that Maxima had visited the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, but I agree that it is unfortunate that there were no pictures published. I can see that perhaps there was fear that the visit would be turned into a media circus, but they could have invited one photographer to take pictures.
I was happy to hear the Queen acknowledge the Dirty War in her speech and praise the President for trying to bring some justice for the victims of that dark period.
