As one who was not familiar with her life story, I have appreciated the discussions in obituaries and on this forum about her husband's character and the aspects of their lives which changed with marriage and divorce, as they have given me a better sense of the import of being a member (or not) of the Royal House and Royal Family at the time, and of Princess Christina's own character.

Have there been stories from any of the singers she mentored?

In all obituaries, on NOS, RTL, NRC, AD, Trouw, De Volkskrant, nu.nl, and name it all, Jorge is discussed. Even that the couple broke all laws with the construction of De Eikenhorst in a nature reserve, with cramming it full of valuables and Jorge using Princess Christina to his profit. But also the Princess herself with her financial trusts at the Channel Islands, her repeated sales of valuable artworks, the couple's conflicts with residents in Wassenaar, etc. The obituaries are honest and not sugar-caked.

Interesting; I imagine those incidents attracted (further) controversy for being at odds with the couple's stated wish for a private life.

Threads have a habit of veering off and I think its only natural that her ex husband would pop up when discussing the life of the late Princess.

I remember that clip of the Princess singing at Prince Bernhard's funeral.

i am saddened to read about christina's husband and the way he treated her. how disrespectful and disloyal of him.

Is Bernardo and Eva still married?
A couple of years ago the couple or rather created much scandal when Eva was named "the homewrecker" in the breakup of musician Kim Gordon's marriage.

I don't know about that,I think there are if one delves deep enough.
But then at the time flashlights were a must and maybe due to Christina's
eye condition they were not present at the ceremony,so,I at least never saw pictures of her baptism.

Btw,it was in the Dom kerk,not a Cathedral,well...it used to be Basilica at least in the
middle ages until the reformation that is...

I do not know if Princess Christina had a kind character. But a gifted and professionally educated singer singing at her parents' funeral was in the line of expectation, I must say. She has sung at various baptisms, weddings and funerals.

Yes sorry I meant the Dom Church (former Cathedral) and also where the late Princess and Jorge Guillermo married in June 1975.

Kai and Numa are the sons of Juliana and Tao and Aida is their daughter.

Jorge is not part of the family, so no name included in the wreaths. The same for Bernardo's wife Eva.
