That's what I was remembering, Connie. I don't think it's anything that Camilla herself causes (not being critical of her for this!). My guess is that people get nervous and don't properly attach things... although that should have applied to Diana events as well and I don't remember hearing about these odd events with her.

As for bumping into the little boy, children are probably lined up in front of her and she wouldn't expect anyone to be going around the back! It was a cute story...

I was thinking about this and I think its a bit of both. They get nervous and dont attach things properly and Camilla is just accident prone. I know, cause Im such a clumsy accident prone person myself. I dont know if I attract the incidents or cause them. They just always happen. But I always just laugh it off and hope everyone else does

Duchess of Cornwall's fears for children over explicit rap videos
The Duchess of Cornwall has spoken of her concern at the effect rap videos may be having on children and young people.

Well if the Telegraph carried the story too with quotes, I guess it is sound!

Call me a prude or old-fashioned, but I still dread music channels and seeing kids watching some of the music videos being aired on TV today!

I am so glad that someone in the public eye has finally spoken up....I find some videos made by the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyonce et al verging on pornographic......I cringe to think of young kids being subjected to such lascivious and tasteless cavorting which is generally portrayed in a cartoonishly unsubtle way! The videos aren't even suggestive...they are blatant!!!!The same goes for some album covers....Madonna's Hard Candy cover was absolutely disgraceful IMHO especially as little kids saw it everywhere in shops.....Then again Madonna is the Grand-ma of controversial and sometimes the crude! But at least her prancing around clad a shiny lilac leotard, tights and roller skates was not as tasteless as some of the bikini clad divas doing there thing!!!! Good for the DOC for speaking out!

DOC speaks out

Many community groups and women's groups have spoken out on this issue many times. Oprah also spoke out against rap videos's depiction of women. What usually happens there's a lot of talk pro and con for a few weeks and then the same old trashy videos keep being made.
I appreciate the DOC for speaking out-hopefully some parents will take heed and turn off the tv. What is so troublesome is the link b/t sex and violence in these videos. This is why I cancelled my cable when my kids were 6 and 3.

I'm far from a fan of the Duchess of Cornwall, but I have to respect her for taking this stand. I particularly wonder what the effect of these music videos has on young boys and how it affects their view of girls and women. A tune can be perfectly catchy on the radio; but it can be revolting when seen on video. :ermm:

On a side note, the comments section on the D... Mail page (yes i know...) is quite revealing about the acceptance (or not) of the DOC and her right (or not) to discuss about society subjects ...

And that's because when you're listening to a song, you don't always catch the lyrics, but the videos tend to act out the lyrics, so there's no escaping them. I'm not always a fan of pop music but I have to say that some of Lady Gaga's songs are pretty catchy, but the lyrics are

I notice how many people in the comments are saying that Camilla doesn't have the right to say anything because of her own morals, and I disagree. If she were criticizing someone for having an affair, that would be one thing, but these videos are a different matter and I think Camilla has a perfect right to speak up about them.

I like Camilla's stance on this one, if what the Daily Mail is reporting is true. I too think some of the music videos today are presenting terrible role models for teenagers. :ermm:

Other sites have picked up the story, but they all quote they Daily Mail.

I was going to point out the comments on the DM as well. Camilla has every right to make a stance on this. Having an affair and sexual abuse are two completely different things and I cant believe people would put the two in the same bag. This place obviously needs attention and a sponsor and the Duchess would be great for that.

I too, have to agree with the Duchess. Its not just the sexual aspect but the violence too. I am a fan of both Gaga and Beyonce, and there music is very catchy and often have fantastical live performances. But so many videos that become mainstream and available to children are just plain inappropriate. Eveyone wants to push the button and see how far they can go, but when will it be too far?

Camilla Parker Bowles goes shopping, but yellow line rules are forgotten | Mail Online

It can be tricky finding a parking space near the shops at this time of year.

So that's probably why the Duchess of Cornwall - or rather her driver - had to keep pulling up on yellow lines when she stopped off for a bit of Christmas shopping.

In fact, her Land Rover Discovery was illgegally parked for around two hours - but managed somehow to avoid acquiring a ticket.

-----------------

I am sure the usual DM crowd will soon pepper the comments section with the usual nasty insults.

Like it was down to Camilla to choose where her driver chooses to wait for her! Also, lets not forget there mightbe security concerns about having the car to far from where she is. The article does mention that it was her security detective that was driving, indicating that she was unacoompanied when she was not in the car - another reason why they may have wanted to have the car close by.

Very true and valid points Muriel.

But unfortunately for Camila and the BRF, the Daily Mail readers dont really read the article FULLY.

The its one rule for them and another rule for us posts have already started.
