It is a hind (deer)
Its official here is the page from their website
Coat of Arms
Reason given on their webiste
"It is customary for individual versions of the Royal Arms with the Royal Supporters to be assigned by Royal Warrant to members of the Royal Family and for wives of members of the Royal Family to be granted one of their husband’s Supporters and one relating to themselves. The Supporter assigned to The Duchess of Cambridge is a white hind, which has had continuing Royal connections in England since the 14th Century. The lion is the Supporter of The Duke of Cambridge’s Coat of Arms"
I like that it is personal to the Duchess.

yes the hind is Kate's personal supporter. Maybe she did not have a personal supporter until now and therefore in the previous version both of Prince William's supporters (lion and unicorn) were used. At least that is my assumption.

Oh and Sweden isn't the only one with it's Queens only Spain, the UK and Monaco left to change it's primogeniture laws in Europe.

Camilla Tominey@CamillaTominey
So the Duchess of Cambridge turns 30-fun today...Kate will be back, in a manner of speaking, on Friday... watch this space
Camilla Tominey also tweeted it would be something original
These tweets started speculation that Kate's first portrait will be revealed on Friday.

I'm not sure whether this is the right thread but the Huffington post has done a slideshow of 160 pix of Catherine covering school at St Andrew's right through to current times. It's based on her style but it includes a lovely range of pix, some I'd not seen before.
Mods - if this is the wrong thread, could you move please?

From Robert Jobson @theroyaleditor: "William understood to have travelled to from his base in Wales to spend time with Kate on her birthday in London." (with thanks to the lovely Julie)

I'll up the wager and say that as things are now he'll spend the rest of his life with her. Its really not that big of a deal for him to go from Wales to London after a shift with the RAF. he's done it before with Kate a few times when they had a royal engagement or occasion to attend.
OR.. he really really likes Carole's cooking and Jame's cakes? That'd tempt me!

I hope he spends more time with her in London in the next few months. She will need him

Think about it. They have an cottage at KP. They have a cottage in Wales. What makes you think that Kate hasn't left London?

I think Kate spent her birthday in London.
And I assume she will spend most of her time in London in the next few months, now she's pregnant and will move into a new apartment.

So it's nearly 5 and we are still waiting for Camilla Tominey's big Friday surprise. The surprise is that we ever believe any of this teasing.

Today's Thursday, so if the surprise is arriving it'll be tomorrow.
Catherine isn't stuck inside, that was evident by the fact she travelled to her parents for Christmas, then to Sandringham and then somewhere for New Year. I doubt very much they'll be in London a lot until a month prior to the birth. They like their privacy and they get that in Wales.

Oh, Michelle - yes it is. I don't think I will ever get over the mix up of dates and days of the week in my head caused by the holidays in the last two weeks! If you knew the number of silly timing goofs I have made over that time you would get big laughs at my expense. And you would be right to laugh at me. I apologize, for now to Ms.Tominey.
