Iluvbertie have mentioned in a post on the British Royal Family Engagements - 2021 thread (post #19) on how The Queen and Princess Royal have completed engagements less than a week after The Duke of Edinburgh's death.
Half a week since the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and there have been three engagements - two by The Queen and one by The Princess Royal...

Thank you Iluvbertie for pointing it out! :flowers:

Her Majesty received the Bishop of Chelmsford (the Right Reverend Dr. Gulnar Francis-Dehqani) via video link who did homage upon his appointment.

I'm sure it's just a typo from an assistant but the new Bishop of Chelmsford is a woman, not a man. She has a very interesting and tragic story of fleeing the revolution in Iran as a child.

Nice to know The Queen is back to work and keeping busy.

That's an interesting approach; mostly to keep her majesty safe I suppose.

a bit offtopic ,but this bishop of chelmsford
that went quick from being ordained, break to have children and become bishop in only 19 years-wow. is her career extraordinary ?

I've met her and she is a gifted speaker and has caught interest and done a lot of specialised work due to her background but her quick career trajectory isn't entirely unusual. There's a lot of discussion about certain candidates who are on the Cathedral track don't do many years "down in the trenches" of parish priest life vs those who spend 20 years as local priests and then move up the ladder.

The Bishop of London Sarah Mullally is another one who made the leap from being ordained (2002) to St Pauls Cathedral in 2018.

As with any organisation there's also a lot of politics involved, women weren't even allowed to be Bishops until 2014 and the CofE has been promoting a lot of them since then.

This is wonderful - always love seeing mother and son! I love the idea of planting trees, creating new life ...

In 70 years on the throne, the Queen has planted 1,500 new trees around the world.
To mark her historic Platinum Jubilee in 2022 you can ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’
Prince Charles planted an oak at Windsor to start the nationwide ‘Queen’s Green Canopy) queensgreencanopy.org

Queen Elizabeth as Patron sent a letter to mark the 180th anniversary of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain last month:

** 180 Years of RPS! **

Now that is what you call an entrance.

Both British & US military looking very smart. What a great honour (or should that be honor:)) for them.

The Queen is just awesome! I had begun to wonder if she was truly sunk low. No doubt she is grieving deeply. Yet she rises above it, puts on a red outfit and drops in by helicopter onto an aircraft carrier!

The Queen just can't stop amazing me. 95 years old, just lost her husband recently and still doesn't slow down. Much. I have to admit when the page was loading, the first words that came to my attention was Queen and helicopter and my mind flashed back HM being the "Bond Girl". :D

I just recorded Skyfall can't wait to see it.

I have to admit to this. Every so often if I need a bit of a pick-me-up, I'll watch the Queen's "Bond Girl" entrance into the 2012 London Olympics. It showed me then and there that there is a quirky and humorous side to the Queen outside of her "regal game face". The Queen is not only iconic in and of herself but she sure knows how to make an iconic entrance too! :D

Today, May 25, Queen Elizabeth held virtual audiences with the Ambassador of Cambodia and the Ambassador of Ethiopia:

Does anyone know what events are planned for the Platinum Jubilee next June?
I know there's a concert, but what else?
