I can't understand why Diana's son's haven't pushed for an inquest, unless they already know something for sure that the rest of us don't. There's too many weird things about that accident to just accept its conclusions for an explanation of a loved one's death.

From: http://www.mirror.co.uk/columnists/suecarroll/

They were, quite simply, her life." How sad, then, that these young men who were her pride and joy don't carry a torch for Diana but seem, like their father, able to consign her memory to history.

Sure, we've had a few, diffident words dragged out of William when he deigned to grant an interview on his birthday but, er, that's it. When asked to open a memorial to her in Kensington, he turned down the offer. What do they think of the garden planned for her in Hyde Park? We don't know, they've never said.
.......................................
Meanwhile, here's a tip for William who said last week that he and his brother "are more able to speak for our mother than Paul".

Start talking.

I wonder if dragging their 'dirty laundry' out in public, so to speak, might be a factor.
While speculation, gossip and rumor can be damaging it's not nearly as damaging as finding out who/what really caused it.
Maybe the boys are trying to preserve their mothers memory and protect the family name???
just a thought

This is reasonable except that it doesn't explain the reluctance of Diana's sons to preserve their mothers memory in tangible ways, such as in memorials or tributes.

I suspect that C/C have made it impossible for William or Harry to say or do anything nice concerning their mother.

Wills And Beyonce To Meet In London, Hello Magazine

Prince William will finally get his chance to meet R&B diva Beyonce when she plays in London next week. The handsome royal has requested tickets for her concert at Wembley Arena, and organisers have arranged for him to meet the singer back-stage.

Back in July, Beyonce met Wills' father at the Prince's Trust Party In The Park. She was somewhat taken aback, however, when Charles revealed that Wills had a crush on her. "I went red in the face and couldn't believe it," said the 22-year-old. "I'm sure William can't believe his father said that and I'm sure Charles will be in trouble when he gets home."

But the incident obviously hasn't dampened his desire to meet the Destiny' Child chanteuse. Wills had hoped to see her perform in Glasgow on Tuesday night, but his college commitments at St Andrews made that impossible. He asked tour organisers to arrange tickets for her gig in London, therefore, and is expected to attend with a group of friends.

"I'm thrilled – Wills is very good looking," said Beyonce. There's not much chance of romance, however, as the Texan belle is already "crazy in love" with rapper Jay-Z.

Prince William partied at a Pizza Express in Fulham with THREE blondes.

Restaurant staff opened a downstairs area specially for the 21-year-old royal after he asked management for a private spot.

But later, as his entourage went out for a night on the town, Wills was pictured leaving alone for an early night.

Wills Becomes the Prince of Clubland

25 NOVEMBER 2003
Like many other British 21-year-olds, Prince William is a big fan of London clubland. But when it came to becoming a member of one of the capital's nightspots, Wills eschewed the pounding dancefloors of the city's best-known venues for something a little more refined.

The world's most eligible bachelor has applied to become a member of White's, the most exclusive gentleman's club in London. In so doing he follows in the footsteps of his father, Prince Charles, who held his stag night there more than two decades ago.

According to member Tom Stacey, those hoping to join require a proposer and two seconders before their application will be considered. Their name will then "sit around in a book for a while, collecting signatures, until it has about 35", reveals Tom. And there is also a membership fee of £850, though none of these requirements should prove too difficult for Wills.

White's has its origins in the early 18th century, when its gaming room, known simply as "Hell", became popular with young London aristocrats. Such was the establishment's reputation that the then Earl Of Oxford called it "the bain of half the English nobility". Since then, however it has become a veritable pillar of London society.

Gentleman's clubs are enjoying something of a renaissance in well-to-do circles of British society. In recent years young aristocrats, who have long been turning their backs on gentlemen-only bars, have been making a return to this bastion of British tradition.

Women's only clubs are endogenous to the species. That's why men are so jealous.

Prince William and his grandmother, The Queen, posing with the captains of the English Rugby team at a tea and reception The Queen hosted for them at Buckingham Palace. Dec. 8, 2003. To me, this is a sign that Prince William is steadily begining to move more into his royal role, and it's great to see him at an official function.

Finally some new pictures and news on William, although it doesn't really surprise me that he made a point of attending a reception for a sports team. Anyway, it's always good to see him, and I can't wait until Christmas when there is more news, and more pictures!

Ananova, Dec 23:

"A cinema owner says Prince William was among the audience for a matinee showing of the new Lord Of The Rings film.

The Prince was said to have watched Lord Of The Rings - Return Of The King with friends at the 147-seat Hollywood cinema in Dereham, Norfolk, on Saturday.

The cinema is one of a chain of five independent cinemas in East Anglia owned by businessman Trevor Wicks.

Mr Wicks said staff had spotted the Prince when he arrived wearing a baseball cap. He said after William's party had left a police protection officer had confirmed to staff that the visitor was the Prince.

The Prince had bought five Cornetto ice-creams - three strawberry flavoured and two mint - during the interval.

Prince William is spending Christmas on the Queen's Sandringham estate which is a few miles from Dereham.

"I think it's fantastic," said Mr Wicks. "I couldn't believe it when I got the call from my manager telling me what had happened.

"What's great is the ordinariness of it. He could have gone anywhere. He could have gone to a West End premiere but instead he came to a local cinema.

"He came with a party of 11 and they pre-booked. One of his security staff was seen in the market square on a walkie-talkie shortly before he arrived.

"The staff were in little doubt that it was him. He bought ice-creams in the interval - apparently he first offered a £5 then handed over £10 when he was told that £5 wasn't enough."

"And when they had all left one of his protection officers gave one of our staff a thumbs-up and said 'You were right', it is him.

"So I don't think there's any doubt it was him. If it wasn't, it was a very elaborate hoax."

Kiosk assistant Diana Isbill told her local newspaper, the Eastern Daily Press, how she sold the Prince ice-creams.

"He actually gave me £5 first and we had to tell him it was more than that, so he then gave us a £10," she said.

"I didn't feel I could keep staring at him and he had to be entitled to his privacy."

Mr Wicks, who also owns cinemas in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Fakenham and Lowestoft, took control of the cinema in the market place in Dereham 12 years ago after it was threatened with closure.

He added: "I don't think he's ever been to one of my cinemas before. I hope he visits us again."

A spokesman for Prince William declined to comment."
