Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Current Events 4: August-September 2005
Now that we've reorganised the subforums in the British forum and Charles and Camilla have their own forum, the "Charles and Camilla" threads are too general. This thread is for current news and photos of Charles and/or Camilla; other topics should have their separate threads.
The old thread is here:

I wasn't trying to be facetious.
I was curious, have they gone off to Balmoral, decided to take a few days break, or off doing some "glamorous" royal duty?

The heir to the British throne Prince Charles is travelling to Saudi Arabia tomorrow (Tuesday) to "convey the British Queen Elizabeths and his condolences" to the Saudi Royal Family, a spokesman for the Princes London residence Clarence House said this evening.
Charles will be back in Britain this Thursday, the spokesman added. It is also expected that British Prime Minister Tony Blair will also fly to Saudi Arabia to convey the countrys condolences to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia upon the death of King Fahd, the Custodian of the Two Holy Shrines. A statement is expected later.

He seems to be spending a lot of time recently with his nose in a glass of beer.

That's okay, Idriel. It might have been a facetious comment, actually.
I really meant it to mean "to go away quietly."
I see that the Queen has gone off to the Balmoral estate, but she hasn't been able to get into the castle b/c of security concerns and the recent admission of the public. And Edward and Sophie were in Tuscany... so I assumed wrongly that the family was gathering at Balmoral.

I understand that Charles went to Saudi Arabia for the king's funeral. Haven't seen any pictures of him there.
