A reason for this visit - according to the Prince of Wales website (besides it being the usual visit to Cornwall) it that Charles has been Duke of Cornwall for 70 years this year having become the Duke sometime in the early hours of the 6th February, 1952.
He isn't the longest serving royal duke, even at 70 years. Later this year the Duke of Kent will commemorate 80 years as Duke of Kent.

Both Charles and Camilla are really stalwarts of the second incarnation of Royal Walkabouts. Originally the royals merely walked along the middle of the road smiling and waving. Prince Philip changed all that and started talking to the public much to the chagrin of the little grey men who seemed to think it would destroy the royal mystique around the monarchy.
The rest of the BRF followed suit and then they started actively interacting with the public, one on one in all sorts of places . . . supposedly they didn't want to broadcast the Coronation on TV because the plebs would watch it in Pubs while drinking. Quelle horreur !
These days the Royals are meeting people "where they live" and are likely to not only drink in a pub but pull the pints as well! Both Charles and Camilla are really good at communicating and interacting with the public who are most often surprised and pleased to be noticed.

The Sandringham Flower Show is usually one of the last public engagements before C&C head up to Birkhall.
If I am not mistaken, they tend to host an overnight party that same evening at Sandringham, with people from the Arts represented. Previous guests have included Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.
