Russians ... Russian hackers ... It is the British time honoured tradition to repeat brazen lies.

Another time honoured tradition of bringing nothing to the conversation as well I see.

Is there anything to bring to the conversation about headlines about Russian hackers? Nothing much.

Not surprised. There are do many hoax celebrity death stories every week, not surprised the queen joined the list. After the hysteria over her illness in some circles, surprised took this long. If not the Russians, some other site.

What does this have to do with Russian hackers?

Or British lies for that matter?

Did you even read the headlines let alone the articles?

It seems like Russian (possibly fake) news media has picked up on the British fake news media reporting the Queen's death. As the fake British news has been discussed in the forum (more in terms of the absurdity that the situation has hit), it seems only logical that the new Russian fake news would also be discussed...

I don't know if this story by Camilla Tominey is true, but it sounds like something HM The Queen would have done:

I found this article to be extremely heartwarming. Not only because of HM's love for her animals but also because of the strong relationship that she had with Bill and Nancy over many years.

HM is such a woman that can and will form bonds with people and animals easily without a shred of pomposity. She conducts her life as being one of the people and sees her job as Queen as her duty and obligation to serve those people.

I do believe that Bill's dogs will be very well cared for under the Queen's guidance whether she takes them in herself or is assured that Bill's family can and will provide a good home for them.

Makes me smile and it does seem something she would do

Would be sweet if she took the dogs in. Especially gifting since one is not only a corgi but one if hers, says she gave the couple one of her puppies. I am sure a bishon would be a nice addition.

2017 will complete a hat-trick of hugely significant years for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In 2015 The Queen became the Longest Reigning Monarch in British history. In 2016 she became the first British monarch to celebrate her 90th birthday. Now, in 2017, she will have been our Queen for 65 years, becoming the first British monarch to celebrate a Sapphire Jubilee.

The Sapphire Jubilee is a historic achievement, and one worthy of recognition. As with all Jubilees in Her Majesty’s reign, it is one with cause for both celebration and reflection. To help explain why, we’ve taken a look back to where it all began, to the moment where a young Princess Elizabeth became Queen.
Good article from the Royal Mint, but she wont celebrate it. She will most likely spend the day quietly at Sandringham. The next big celebration of HM will be in 2022 when she celebrates her Platinum Jubilee. And I think she will make it, since she is so healthy/vigorous.

The Queen could lie in state in St Paul’s cathedral if the Houses of Parliament are closed for repairs at the time of her death, according to contingency plans being considered by officials.

A Ł3.9 billion restoration project will mean the Palace of Westminster will be closed for six years, including Westminster Hall, used for the lying-in-state of monarchs and royal consorts.

Whitehall sources said that St Paul’s cathedral had been identified as the most suitable alternative for hosting the queues of people wanting to pay their respects. Plans for the Queen’s funeral, which has the codename London Bridge, are kept under regular review.

Officials have also been looking for a venue to host the pomp and pageantry of the opening of parliament when the House of Lords chamber is unavailable. This means that the Queen would probably set out the government’s legislative programme at the Banqueting House, the only surviving building of the old Palace of Whitehall where Charles I was executed.

MPs and peers are expected to move out in a “full decant” from 2022 so repairs can be carried out to the plumbing, electrical and heating systems. Supporters of the plan warn that the old wiring system could spark a fire.
The geniuses in Fail Online has an article about it too:

The Queen will notch up yet another remarkable milestone in her record-breaking reign next week, but for her, it will be a day of contemplation rather than celebration.

On Monday, February 6, the Queen will become the first British monarch to reach a Blue Sapphire Jubilee, 65 years to the day since she ascended the throne.

For Her Majesty, the more important anniversary is that of her father’s death at the age of just 56.

She said in 2015 that her record as Britain’s longest-reigning monarch was “not one to which I have ever aspired”, and royal sources said she will spend the day in “quiet reflection” at Sandringham.

There are no plans for a public celebration of the latest Jubilee, despite its uniqueness, and the Queen will spend part of the day itself going through her red boxes of official documents.

Dickie Arbiter, the Queen’s former press secretary, said: “It’s important to understand that for the Queen this marks the anniversary of the day her father died.

“She has always made it clear that her long reign is a consequence of her father’s early death, and so it is not a day for celebration.

“She will go to church the day before, and her father will be in her thoughts then. On the day itself, she will do her red boxes but she won’t be going out and about anywhere.”
And I love this picture from her 90th birthday:

The Queen is to make history when she becomes the first British monarch to reach their Sapphire Jubilee.

On February 6 - the anniversary of the day she became Queen - Elizabeth II will have reigned for 65 years.

But there are no grand festivities planned to mark the head-of-state's new milestone.

The Queen is, at this stage, not due to be out and about on official engagements on the landmark day.

The sovereign, who missed church over Christmas due to a heavy cold, will undoubtedly be matter of fact about this historic occasion.

In 2015, when she thanked the nation for its kind messages after overtaking Queen Victoria to become the longest-reigning monarch in British history, she admitted bluntly that the royal record was ''not one to which I have ever aspired''.

She added: "Inevitably, a long life can pass by many milestones. My own is no exception."

The Queen celebrated her 90th birthday last year and had a busy schedule commemorating the occasion, with a walkabout, beacon lighting and a black tie dinner for family and friends in Windsor on her actual birthday.

A weekend of national celebrations, including a party on The Mall, was held for her official birthday in June.

It is likely that any large-scale jubilee celebrations will be reserved for the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 - although any events will take into account the fact that Queen is due to turn 96 that year.

Royal Mint marks Queen's Jubilee with range of coins | Daily Mail Online

Royal Mint casts coins to mark Queen's Sapphire Jubilee

Some quotes from this long article - read more: Commemorative Ł5 coin shifts crown around for first time so Blue Sapphire stone can be seen on Royal Mint's new range of Jubilee coins
Quote:
The Queen’s record-breaking reign is to be marked with a new Ł5 coin which shifts the crown around for the first time to make the monarch’s Blue Sapphire stone visible.

The Royal Mint has commissioned a range of specially designed Sapphire Jubilee commemorative coins to mark the 65th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne.

The milestone - which falls on February 6 and is a first for a British monarch - has seen coins struck in a range of metals and denominations from Ł5, Ł10 and Ł500 to Ł1,000.

All the coins feature the Queen's image in profile on the main side but the Ł5 range has the imperial state crown on the reverse, and an excerpt from Princess Elizabeth's famous speech where she dedicated herself to her future role as Queen.

It reads: "My whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service."

Glyn Davies, designer of the Ł5 range, said: "I drew inspiration from the regalia associated with the Queen's coronation.

"As opposed to many traditional designs, I've rotated the crown to make a feature of the Stuart sapphire.

"I have also included a quotation from Her Majesty's 21st birthday speech, which makes the design more personal. I used computer-aided design to create the inscription, but sculpted elements of the crown in clay."

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond was present at the Royal Mint when the Sapphire Jubilee collection was struck.

Commenting on the edge lettering on the precious metal Ł5 coins, the broadcaster said: "I particularly love the inscription around this coin. It reads 'shine through the ages' - taken from the Queen's coronation speech.

"She was talking about how the ancient ceremonies shine through the ages of course, but for us, I think this also reflects how the Queen herself has shone, and continues to shine, throughout her wonderful long reign".
