It's not really a custom for men in the UK to not wear a wedding ring, in fact most men do. Some men, however, choose not to do so and William is one. Another is David Cameron, UK Prime Minister, who is very happily married and yet chooses not to wear a wedding ring. It's purely a matter of personal preference.
From what I've seen on Twitter, it would appear that tonight's likely the last we'll see of William before he heads off to the Falklands next month. I'm sure we'll see one or two pics of him in the Falklands but that'll probably be it as the MOD have stressed that he won't undertake any public engagements while he's there. In my view that's a little unfair on the Falkland Islanders, but the MOD are anxious not to provoke Argentina too much.
