The Private Secretary of HRH Princess Alexandra of Kent
Buckingham Palace
London
Sw1 1AA
When I wrote to Camilla, I put in two letters. One was the actual letter to Camilla and the other was to her Secretary asking her to give my letter to Camilla if it was at all possible. It was and Camilla replied. Good Luck!

The address by Beatrixfan is right but you should address it to HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy, KG, GCVO. or to her private secretary.

Traditionally, you never write to a member of the Royal Family directly, so if you do send a letter, you should send two - one for the actual Royal and then another to the Private Sec asking them to put it to the Royal when they have a moment. That shows that you're not an autograph hunter or just a fan but that you'd like them to read your letter themselves. People have recieved replies by just writing to the Royal in person but thats the tradition. It still remains a huge no-no to address an envelope to the Queen and in most etiquette guides, they'll advise you to address the envelope to a Private Secretary. Nice stationery is advisable, a first class stamp and nothing too large.

If you live overseas it is polite to address a letter to a foriegn Royal Family to the Ambasssador and ask His Excellency to kindly pass the letter onto the relevant private secreatry.

Some Palaces (eg Buckingham Palace) have lovely envelopes.
The Spanish Royal Family don't have very nice envelpoes, but the Danish ones are nice.

The Duchess of Cornwall wrote to me when her father died, the letter was signed by her, not a secretary.

Do I detect some sarcasm in your tone.

I never imagined they read all thiese letters and cards. What amazed that they even sometimes answer personally. It was so nice of d-s of Cornwall to answer - it is not sarcasm from my side. Now I like her more...
