Well, she's probably not pregnant if she's still smoking.....

LadySarah said people smoke to forget bad circumstances. Yes, true. I did this many years ago when I was a college teacher. One day at work I nearly passed out from the effects of a cigarette, while sitting in my office. I felt I was close to death. I quit smoking that moment. The shock stopped me. The nice part about it was that I had NO withdrawal symptoms. I cannot say why this is, unless to thank God for it. I think all who smoke need to be shocked into sanity as I was.
Every royal who smokes is trying, like the rest of us who have smoked, to forget bad circumstances, such as being confused and ignorant about what is happening to them, their families, and the world.

I think the entire pregnancy idea was squashed when she went up that winch in the tree in Borneo. She did look a little puffy at the beginning of the tours, but it think just jet lag. She is back to herself the past few days. And she looked amazing yesterday in her casual attire.

I agree Tudor Rose. Kate needs some flesh. She will get some if she gets pregnant. Some people think a person as thin as she is can't get pregnant. Well, I think that's false.
Lots of thin people get pregnant. You encourage me, about saying one needs a little flesh to avoid osteoporosis. I was about like Kate when young, size wise, and now weigh 20 pounds more. Would like to be 10 pounds less, but maybe the flesh is good for something.
I lost 15 pounds with morning sickness. Hope Kate doesn't do that! She will need hospitalization if that happens.

I think there was a time when Kate's bag was open and it looked like you could see a pack of smokes in there. It really doesn't matter to me. Although not a healthy habit to have, its a personal choice and she doesn't do it while she's in public. I think both William and Harry indulge in a smoke now and then but I'd not go as far as to say they're heavy smokers.

Weight will not prevent osteoporis. Eating correctly, getting enough Vitamin D along with other essential nutrients are what is needed.

The Telegraph quotes a royal aide in one of their stories saying it was "highly unlikely" (Kate smoking at the airport) as she has never been a smoker.

As the sporty type, she doesn't seem like the smoker type. Carole was a smoker (I don't know if she quit). You would think at in ten years there would be a picture or something. Harry has been pictured smoking several times.

Smoking might relieve stress but it's only temporary. Very difficult habit to break. Being royal doesn't protect you from the health effects of smoking, especially if one has smoked for years. You have the best medical care to treat you're bad habit that has made you sick or you have health issues because of it years down the road, even if you quit. Can't get around this.
I'm not sure who pays the medical expenses of royals (I would imagine it's not the taxpayer and this would vary country to country) but if the public is paying, they are not going to be happy with royal X or Y who smoked for 30 years or smoked on and off for 50 years and now has serious health issues which could have been avoided.

Yea, it struck me as out of character. She's very athletic, and clearly works out regularly. I can't imagine her as a smoker. And you're right, if she was really a smoker, I'd imagine someone would have gotten a picture at some point in the last ten years.

When my brothers and I were little, whenever my dad's parents were visiting, my mom made them go outside to smoke, because she didn't want them smoking around their grandchildren. Also, my grandpa had a special room in their house (his office) where he would go to light up.
