This picture of Christian with mother is one of my all times favourites pictures. So genuine! Christian was seen running out in his pyjamas so fast he could to welcome home his mother and father after they had been on a 5 days visit in Beijing. That picture says it all

What an absolutely delightful photo. Looking at you see a loving, but formal, photo emphasising their status as expectant parents. I think we don't see photos like that so much with royalty because, since the advent of Demi and the bare baby belly right through to the Kardashians, it has been considered vulgar.

That photo is a step back in time and in a country where such a photo is a discreet sharing of good news.

I get the impression that Sophie is a very warm affectionate mom with both of her children. Edward also seems to have mellowed since his being a father. Lovely to see.

I do agree that Edward has mellowed since fatherhood but Sophie is definitely much more openly affectionate with her children. Edward still seems a bit uncomfortable with affection in public. Probably to do with how he was raised.
