Even if Spain has the same kind of statutory rape law as the US has, it would not be a crime unless Letizia's parents pressed charges against him. In such a case, it's up to the parents to pursue the charge. Otherwise, there is not any crime. If he was liked by her family, maybe the relationship wasn't a problem at all, or at least the parents were able to accept it.

Having said that, I have no idea if Spain has such a law like the US does.
 
Princess Letizia had a relationship with David Tejera Spanish CNN presenter 2001-2003 before Felipe. Letizia was still living with David when she met Prince of Asturias. They broke off relations in summer 2003, just 3 months before the royal House announced Letizia's engagemen to Prince Felipe.

This was just a rumor like many other rumors (ex. her ex had a previous marriage before her, she had a tied tube, fertility treatment, Leonor was an IVF baby blah blah blah etc) that had never been confirmed by any credible source. Letizia bought her own apartment at the beginning of 2002 (the same apartment Erika lived after her sister's engagement) and lived there on her own until the engagement.

No, it is not just a rumour at all. Do you think seriously that Letizia had only one man , her 1st husband in her life before Felipe? Letizia 's ex-colleagues knew about their relationship. The Spanish court has power in the Spanish media. It is no accident that her all previous affairs are censored in the Spanish press by royal court. People wonder why her divorce papers, wedding photos, videos and their previous relations keep in secret?

Any rumor started out with ex-colleagues, friends of ex-colleagues, friends of friends who knew friends of Letizia, her family members or her doctor :eek:.
You didn't read my post properly, you need to read the things I highlighted. I never said that Letizia didn't have a relation with Tejera when she met Felipe in 2002 (maybe Felipe was also seeing another woman), but most of the details you wrote were pure rumors. Letizia's previous relations had been censored in the Spanish press ? You got to be kidding. Even the King's affairs haven't been censored these days, go buy a copy of Jaime Penafiel's new book :eek:. Her previous marriage/divorce was not only about her, also her ex-husband, who is a private citizen. Thus anything related to their marriage or divorce is a private matter. Her ex said theirs was not other people's business, he has every right to do so.

There was an opinion piece in a Norwegian newspaper (in Norwegian) a while back on the age of consent, and they mention that the age of consent in Spain is 13 (raised from 12 in 1999. I remember this, because it was fairly shocking to me when I read it the first time.)

You're wrong. It’s not a rumour at all, this is the truth. David Tejera was Letizia's boyfriend 2001-2003. She was still Tejera's girlfriend for a few months after she met Felipe. They broke up in 2003. By the way, Felipe's cousin Beltran introduced Letizia to Felipe at a dinner party.

Princes of Asturias visited Letizia's former workplace last week in 09. 10. 2008 where her ex-boyfriend David Tejera was there in the same room.

Dunno, Chelsy is no Waty Katy I'd be surprised if they got back together and if, then on Chelsy's conditions and not on Harry's who will have to do a canossa walk to get her back.

I know it, Zonk. It is just ....... it's very sad for me. I liked Chelsy and "Haz" together.
 
I'm not sure if Chelsy is really out-of-date. I don't think that is over. She's still meeting with Harry and I suppose that the next Harry girlfriend must have stong nerves. In my opinion they're be couple again. Like Cam and Charles.
