Well, this is totally rumour and unconfirmed but I've been told that Margrethe gives Anne-Marie a certain amount of money each year which comes from her private funds. Elizabeth gives Constantine a certain amount each year on the suggestion of Prince Philip. But that could be complete rot.

I don't believe that, they have to be very careful in the way they spend their money (private or not), it maybe was a one time thing but I don't think it's permanent

Do you mean the rumored $200 million dowry of Crown Princess Pavlos? I think the foundation is plausible - friends give to the foundation. In return, they get invites to events, not just Greek family related events but also where TM can "put in a good word" for the friend.

How do royals travel? Do they own their on private jets? Do the fly first class on commercial airlines? Just curious if they have something comparable to America's Air Force one for the President. Merci.

The Swedish royal family uses the states planes, if i´m not wrong i think we have two planes, not very big though. And the planes are not only for the royal family but for the prime minister and other members of the goverment. And the RF often fly regular flights.

The Norwegians use commercial airlines most of the time, or military when the occasion calls for it.
The royal yacht is used for some transportation, as with the silver cruise.
There is also a royal railway car.

The swedish royal family sometimes takes the train, ad then they have thier own car that is connected to a public train set. I dont know how often they used the train nowadays but a couple of years ago they used it often, like when they went to their ski lodge in Storlien

Danish royalty travel by both commercial airlines and military jets. It depends on the distance. When smoking members of the royal family fly commercial airlines, smoking is allowed in the cabin for all passengers.
Moreover, Danish royals have a yacht, the "Danneborg", which is used for travelling within the Danish borders, to Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and at some occasion, even further. For instance, the Royal Family travelled on the "Dannebrog" when they went to the 2004 Olympic Games!
and a private train car, mostly used for when the reigning couple takes up residence at Marselisborg in Aarhus. But it was also used for a state visit in Belgium a few years back.

I also heard that the heir to the throne and the person reigning cannot fly on the same plane. I think this has changed but that's why when Diana Princess of Wales wanted to take William and Charles on the same plane the Queen wanted her son and William on seperate planes because the monarchy may be at risk. Just in case the plane crashes.

Royal Summer Vacations
Now that summer is in full gear, I thought it'd be nice to have a threat where we can talk and post pictures of royals during their summer vacations, either of this year or in the past.
The Spanish Royal Family usually spends most of their summer vacations in Mallorca.
Does anybody know where other royals usually go or what they do?

Why not read through the newsletter for last summer - where the topic was Royal Summer vacations?
In addition to that - you also have the thread Summering Royals and A Royal Holiday.
