What a crowded desk!
I've seen such desks quite a few times in this thread already, and while it says a lot about the person behind the desk, I simply don't understand how they can work there!
As there is hardly room to work, half would accidentally end up on the floor within an hour if I ever sat down to work at such a desk.

This manor is the personal property of the DRF and as such very little used for representation at all.
Also Queen Ingrid was not fond of the place, so everything inside this manor has QMII's stamp on it. And to a lesser degree PH as well.
What we see is where the family live when they are there during Easter, part of the summer holidays and at Christmas.

Here is what I wrote about it in another thread:

Annoyingly it wasn't as systematic as the first show, basically I suppose because this is actually a home (summer-cottage) rather than a historical workplace/museum/official residence. And Since Marselisborg Manor is only a little more than 100 years old it's still a young house.
So this time I point out a specific time in the show and then go on to the next stop-mark

3:40 QMII has always arranged the flowers herself here at Marselisborg.
It's an ongoing creative process. She doesn't really envision the result before the arrangement is finished.

05:08 Marselisborg was the brainchild of a city-Councillor in Aarhus who suggested a summer residence for the Regent Couple in Jutland, where there at the time was no DRF residence. (Gråsten at that time was German territory after the Second Schleswigan War 1864). And in 1902 it was finished and at the disposal of later Christian X. It is to be inherited by the heir, so it will at some point inevitably become Frederik's property.

05:30 "It's a big house, with very little room". I.e. large living-rooms, and one big suite, should the King come visiting, but that a number of guests should pay a visit, hadn't really been considered...

06:05 By the time then Prince Christian and his wife took over the fully furnished Marselisborg, he already had two children and "actually it hadn't been taken into consideration what to do, if they should end up having five children"!

06:40 The decorations over the doors and the facade on the garden-side of the building symbolize Jutland and also include the three Nordic lions.

07:12 The colors used by the architect were very gloomy, even QMII's grandparents thought they were too gloomy!
So the rooms were actually very dark, but that has changed.

07:54 "I probably think a lot in colors all the time. - And it gets worse over time". QMII is very much into colors and color-combinations and a lot of this episode is indeed about just that.

09:02 All through the years Christian X used to write on the window pane when he arrived and when he left.

09:58: After QMII and PH's marriage in Frederik IX in 1968 offered them that they could take over Marselisborg. QMII was sceptical, it was abit old-fashioned but PH was eager!

10:55 "I'm stuck with it, economically speaking. It's my private property. You can't go to the state and say: we need a new bathroom". So it's the DRF who pays for the upkeep. And that means they pay taxes of the property. (Which I didn't know).

11:00 The antlers in the vestibule (I will often use the Danish term. It's interesting to see how international they are) are Christian X's. But some were replaced by paintings.

12:55 Notice the plates along the ceiling. They are collectors items and they are from merchant towns in DK. There are a load of merchant towns in DK! And QMII must by now have visited all of them.
The painting was found and bought by QMII and she is (also professionally) very fond of it.

13:55 "It's especially the Prince Consort who likes to move the furnitures around". And then the "furniture-waltz" begin! Because if you move one furniture, you have to move another and so on...

14:40 It's of course difficult to say when it's one or the other who has had the best idea, but... "I so do like that once the furnitures have found a good spot, that they remain there...".

14:50 This painting was found by PH in an antique store in England for furnitures from the 30's where it had been used as presentation (staffage). PH recognized the man in the painting as King Gustav V. So he fetched QMII the next day and they bought the painting. The shop owner didn't know who it was and PH and QMII didn't tell them... (15:44) - Painted in 1936.

It was PH and QMII who as the first decided to go to Marselisborg during Easter and Christmas (and de facto also during the annual Cultural Week in September).

16:51 The Christmas tree is placed in this corner. The DRF do not dance around the tree.

17:35 The Dining Room. (I presume he has clean hands). There can be seated quite a few around the table, but on a daily basis it's the Regent Couple and the adjutant and sometimes the Lady in Waiting as well, if she is present.

19:03 The painting is a present from the Faeroe Islands and presented to QMII on her 70th birthday. But the blue color suits this spot just right. Yes!!

20:00 Frederik just like QMII has a close affiliation with Aarhus, because they both studied at Aarhus University. QMII lived in a kind of dorm (kollegium), while Frederik lived at the Kavaler-building that is placed close to the entrance and is an adjacent building originally for the staff and when M&F visit Marselisborg they always live there.
QMII studied political science in 1961.

22:15 This is QMII's study. The windows were originally one big pane, but that was a bit too much, so it has been scaled down so to speak.
It used the be Queen Alexandrine's study as well.

23:50 Originally there was no swimming pool and going to the beach was a few hundred meters away was not so attractive, even as late as the 1960. (the reason being that a main sewer had it outlet a couple of hundred meters out into the bay from the beach, and often you would se a brownish "blop" emerging on the water when... well, you can guess it... Nevertheless back in the 1930's relatives of mine walked from their school to receive swimming lessons right there! )
So they had this swimming pool made.
But while it's a nice and private place to swim, it can be a bit cold when the sun isn't on, because the wind come around the house and brr!

25:13 There is a great view from the terrasse (patio?) over Aarhus Bay.

26:00 The local artmuseum Aros (the old Danish name for Aarhus) is extremely popular with the public and with the Regent Couple as well! They are attracted like blowflies to a corpse!
They exhibited there a few years back.
QMII does try used subdued colors from time to time, but then, nah! And an orange pillow is used instead.

27:45 QMII embroiders quite a bit and these two pillows are her work. She draws the pattern herself, the colors are somehow in her head, but she doesn't really know how it will end up before she is finished. So when she starts embroidering it's as close to a non-stop process as her duties allow.

29:20 This embroidery is inspired from a landscape seen from above. That was fun, so she made four more.

30:15 These are QMII's paintings. From Cayx.

31:28 After working out the paintings must be some 25 years old "Oh dear, one is getting elderlier and elderlier".

31:45 QMII steps out as the sentries are being relieved (every two hours), so the guards present arms. QMII (as is proper) stands still to acknowledge the salute then say: "Carry on, guardsmen".
It's QMII close friend and LiW, Sisse Foss, who is driver. She address QMII with informal you and then when told where to go responds: "The Queen directs".

33:20 The pergola. The huge vase or whatever it is was a present and it was placed in the original pergola made of wood, completely "dwarfing the poor pergola", so a new stone pergola was made and now it looks better.

34:10 This is the rose-garden. The circular planting was QMII's idea.

35:10 The tower was a part of a roof decoration on a factory. It was bought by PH and placed here.
(Normally I believe people who write graffiti should have their hands nailed to trees! But in this case it's quite sweet greetings to the Regent Couple).
It's called (loosely translated) "Villa Margarine-rest", it was from a margarine factory.
The roses are very much chosen for their scent rather than their looks.

37:40 The sculpture was a present from PH on her 70th birthday.
"Couple making love".
PH actually considered being a concert pianist before becoming a diplomat.

38:24 The "Torso" which QMII believe is one of PH very best works.

40:00 This is when QMII unwinds and completely empties her head.

At the very end there is a graffiti depicting a heart, obviously by a child, the text reads "good Queen".

I have to say I found the last ten minutes or so rather moving. I think you have a lovely queen.

And now for the official summer residence, Fredensborg Palace.
From this summer it will also be an unofficial summer residence for M&F, but they won't live at the actual palace but in an adjacent building on the palace grounds.

While Amalienborg is an official residence with a lot of representation build into it, Fredensborg is more like a country manor. In the sense that sometimes they entertain guests (foreign heads of state) and sometimes a ball is hosted here (gala dinner) but in-between all that it's a home, and the rooms are used privately.

Here is what I wrote about the docu in another thread:
In this episode we visit Fredensborg, where QMII absolutely love to be and that is clearly shown throughout the program.
We also see a QMII with a mischievous sense of humor.

Before the introduction:
QMII talks about how she loved being here! No going for a long walk with a nanny in one hand and a kid sister in the other... (ØV! - Childish Danish exclamation for something annoying.)
But come November... Back to Amalienborg and going for walks - which she did not think was much fun! And still don't.

Fredensborg was build to celebrate peace after the end of the Great Nordic War in 1720.

Frederik 4's værelse (room):
It really wasn't his room, but his portrait is hanging there and QMII believes he must have been a nice person.
It's a cozy room. The Regent Couple use it a lot, not least because it has a working fireplace. PH often play the piano.
It's an old house so the door is causing a bit of trouble.

Fredensborg is very much inspired by a visit to Italy by Frederik IV, not least the extensive use of marble.

Kuppelsalen = The Dome Hall.
The fireplaces of marble as well as the door frames were brought back from Italy.
(Hammering is heard). QMII says aloud: "Well, one sure can tell that someone is talking loudly!"
But parts of the door frames are made from painted wood.
QMII believe the palace itself add 50 % to the festive mood at parties.

06:55 "Carry on, guardsmen".
After the death of Frederik IV the kings who followed became so fond of the place that they expanded it, and that's why it has two wings. Mainly with guestrooms.

Gardersalen - The Guards Hall.
That is the grand entrance hall that is not used on a daily basis. As is custom in such halls the Regent Couple's portraits hang here.
08:24 The "unicorn" is one PH claims to have shot! It makes a good icebreaker when you haven't anything else to talk about.

The Kuppelsal is surrounded by the grand salons and sometimes as children they spinned visiting children around and told them to locate say Gardersalen. Not always successful.
QMII has been to Fredensborg every year since 1947, when Frederik IX became king. His father, Christian X, didn't like the place. But Frederik IX loved it!

09:55 QMII's study.
She usually sits in that chair, because from here she can enjoy the room.
There is also room for the dachshund.
QMII freely admits that she is not very tidy! And things have a tendency to end up on the desk, which is otherwise pretty big.

When Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid took over in 1947, the place was very old-fashioned and the furnishing was, well.... So Queen Ingrid quietly started putting the place in order and that is an ongoing process. Several salons have now been restored to the original style from the 1730's or so.
And when princess Margrethe came home from school she followed her mother around to learn what had been done.
So she was introduced to the various styles, rococo, baroque and so on.

Christian IX in particular was were fond of the place and gathered the extended family here in the summer.

14:39 - The Garden Room, where Frederik IX was very fond of sitting.
The public is allowed into the park till the semi-circular bit, even when the DRF are in residence.

17:05 - The Little Baroque Dining Room.
Here the Regent Couple and an adjutant dine. QMII stands at PH's seat, where there is an ample supply of spices, herbs and what not.
Opposite is her seat, there are salt and pepper, because she borrow from her husband is she needs anything. - And as she points out, there are also cigarettes and an ashtray.
Beforehand this is where QMII and her sisters dined on a daily basis. They only dined with their parents on Sundays and on "days off".
Later on Frederik and Joachim dined here.
This room has also been restored to the original look.

19:45 - The Yellow Salon.
The family painting was started when there were three children less in the family.
20:45 - Then all of a sudden when the work on the painting was going on "Whoops! Twins came. - And then whoops, a daughter came along at Joachim's. - And then all of a sudden we were many more". So the age of the children is not correct in regards to when the painting was made.
21:05 - "We have eight grandchildren, so... We are pretty surprised ourselves, because we had two boys, and well, we'll hopefully have some grandchildren. Then one day we did a count and there were eight!"
21.45 - "They are very fine together all the kids. That's really very nice. Nikolai and Felix are fantastic sweet with little Henrik and Christian think they are wonderful, because they are the big cousins you always look up to as a younger cousin."

The many portraits in QMII's study are Queen Juliane Marie's relatives.
The study has also been restored to original.
24:10 - QMII was so delighted with the result of the restoration that she wrote about it on the window pane.

24:43 - Churchill's autograph from a visit in 1950. QMII and her sisters had a chat with him. They had a kitten who sat in Churchill's lap, while they talked.
Churchill was presented with the Order of the Elephant, which he the next morning told Frederik IX the elephant had been standing on his night stand and "I gave him a bun this morning." (25:29).

There is loads of graffiti on the door-frames. QMII spends much of the episode looking for a particular note from Princess Dagmar's (later tsarina) first engagement. She does eventually manage to find one from the second engagement. But it's not only guests and royals who have scribbled on the frames, servants did it too.
"If it's old enough, then it's interesting. And that the difference between history and vandalism."

27:15 - The Little Blue Salon.
Also restored. This is the TV-room of the Regent Couple. QMII doesn't watch much TV though and they dine late, so it tends to conflict with programmes they might want to watch, but it happens they dine in here, if there is something special on TV.
They mainly watch the news.

28:00 - QMII and her sisters played a lot in the park, but not that much together because QMII is several years older than her sisters.
But when they came home from school, it was out the door! - Before being called back for homework... (29:08) ØV!

29:20 - Dachshunds. "They are not well-behaved but they are funny and have personality." (30:00).

31:00 - The Marble Garden which has always had the many little statues.

31:50 - This a synthesizer/jukebox brought back from Italy by Frederik IV.

33:40 - The red colors on the window frames is to make the light less cold. "They knew what they were doing."

34:20 - This is the apartment/suite for visiting heads of states.
It's not always the Regent Couple accompany visiting heads of states throughout the entire visit, so it happens that while the guests are away that QMII put on more casual wear. And often members of the visiting dignitary's staff stay back as well - presidents in particular tend to have a very large staff... and they meet QMII and she can tell they are puzzled... Isn't that...? She finds that very amusing. (35:36).

In the restored dressing room hangs a painting of Queen Juliane Marie. Here QMII has played with the setting, furnitures and colors.

38:35 - After the fall of the Wall, the three Baltic nations became independent and DK opened official diplomatic relations with them, as the first country and the ceremony took place at Fredensborg.
A very moving occasion for all involved.

41:00 - Yes! She found the Dagmar graffiti. Almost, it's the second engagement.

And now for Gråsten Palace.

Gråsten is very much the summer retreat for the DRF. It is also where the Berleburgs and Greeks royals have come as children, so there is a lot of nostalgia linked to the place, as such it has pretty much remained as it was when Queen Ingrid was around. With only the odd change or update by QMII.
It has never been used for representation, so all the rooms are used privately.
The furnishing, coloring and decoration is very much according to Queen Ingrid's taste. Especially the garden!
It's not supposed to be historical or imposing or have a symbolic meaning, it's just a cozy summer retreat and furnished accordingly.

This is part one of what I wrote about Gråsten in another thread:
This time about Gråsten Manor, which remains very much in style as it was while Queen Ingrid was around, so it's very much her style rather than QMII's we are seeing.
The DRF prefer it to remain this way because it reminds them so much of good times at Gråsten.

Gråsten was originally a small hunting-palace which burned in the 1600's. In the 1700's a manor was build on the spot, but most of that burned too. Then the current manor was build.
After the Reunification of Southern Jutland to Denmark in 1920 after having been under German rule since the defeat in the Second Schleswigan War in 1864 the manor was bought by the Danish state. It was at first used as a court of law and library, but in 1935 the manor was put at the disposal of the DRF, to be precise the then CP-couple, Frederik and Ingrid. Who went there with the family every summer since 1936, apart from two years during the Occupation where it was used as a lazaret by the Germans.
Queen Ingrid after the death of her husband very much retreated here during the summer months and here her grandchildren came visiting.
As such all current native members of the DRF have come here all their lives.

Introduction.
QMII start by recalling the many fond memories at Gråsten during her childhood, and going here means she feels close to her parents.

Gråsten is not a residence as such, they've never had foreign dignitaries visiting. This is for the family, so it's not an imposing place, but a cozy place.
02:11 - This is actually the main entrance. - Since there are no visiting foreign dignitaries, this is where the family mill in and out of the manor.
Enjoy the umbrella, QMII is not called Daisy by her family for no reason.

03:32 - "Watch out! There is a dog in front" - And four guardsmen...

04:00 - In the panorama you can see Germany in the horizon.

The flower-garden at Gråsten is Queen Ingrid's work. She started from scratch and this is the result.

- What you see is very much a typical summer day here in DK.

While QMII is very good with interior design and furnishing, it's very much Benedikte who has been looking after the garden after the death of Queen Ingrid.

06:15 - This bench was a present to QMII on her 75th birthday.

07:30 - Jagtstuen - The Hunting Room/Gun Room.
The antlers are Frederik IX's. Queen Ingrid was not particularly fond of antlers, but here they were allowed to hang.

08:20 - Spisestuen - The Dining Room.
All furnitures at Gråsten has been acquired by the DRF themselves. There are only a couple of paintings owned by the state.
The reason is the Frederik and Ingrid, as the CP-couple simply didn't have that many furnitures and the furnitures owned by the state is primarily for the disposal of the Regent Couple. So just like M&F they had to buy furnitures over the years.
This is how it looked at the very beginning and this is how QMII and her sisters remember how it was in their childhood.

10:36 - Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid and the daughters arriving to a jubilant Southern Jutland for the first time as king and queen in 1947. Aboard Dannebrog.
11:35 - Here QMII urges the cameraman to get a shot of the flowers against the green background. Her sense for colors surfacing again. ..."It's terribly nice - without me...".

12:00 - Arbejdsværelset - QMII's study.
The room was furnished and styled by Queen Ingrid, and it remains in her style.

12:52 - The fireplace-screen was embroidered by Gustav V, who was very adept at doing such things.
The seats of the chairs however have been embroidered by QMII.
The paintings on the wall, are basically the only furnishing belonging to the state. They have always been there.

13:50 - She talks about the whole DRF having been here over the summer. M&F spending three weeks here. (You remember Josephine falling of the horse). She is certain they will feel at home here - and the next is endearing. (14:10) - "... But for the time being I wouldn't like to let it go, because I'm so very fond of being here".

14:50 - Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid were fond of playing billiards.
The Hunting Room is now also the TV-room, while the main room next to is the living room. "Everyone who wants to see TV are here. And those who do not want to see TV are in the hall in here". (So I guess there are a couple of, in QMII's opinion TV-addicts in the family). This is where the family gather.
Here she talks about how she loathed needlework until one day here at Gråsten, when she was 20, where she did some embroidering and got hooked.
The large cushing is her work.

She goes on to talk about how Queen Ingrid's grandchildren met here during the summers and enjoyed being here and today when they meet, they are back in the old mill!
That was major quality time with mormor!
And to mark their presence a portrait and a bust of Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid adorns this room.

18:25 - "I'm not as good at being a farmor, as mother was in being a mormor, I'm afraid. Unfortunately. But I enjoy having them around and I enjoy gathering the family here at Gråsten". (Gråsten BTW means Greystone).

19:20 - The church, which is a public church and as far as possible QMII finds time to attend service on Sundays.
The church escaped the fire and as such it's from the early 1700's and in original condition.
Both the New and the Old Testament are depicted in paintings on the walls. They are not great art thinks QMII, but they are amusing.

21:00 - Across the lake there is a view to parts of Gråsten town. She laments that small towns and villages have problems staying alive, as small local stores close but that's how it is. "One is sorry, when people are sorry".

Now, that bench isn't centered! That has to be fixed. "It's looks so sloppy when such a thing is sailing around. - No, that damn well isn't centered". There we go.

23:00 Gråsten is located in the border-region and as such the locals are very conscious about being Danish. After WWI and the Reunification in 1920 this part of DK was very poor. Historically this part of the realm was very rich. And Queen Ingrid put a lot of effort in bring Southern Jutland back on it's feet and they haven't forgotten her for that.
When then crown princess Ingrid came here in 1936 the Nazis among the German minority was stirring and Queen Ingrid explains in the clip, that she knew next to nothing about the history and next to nothing about what a border-region is like, they had no such thing in Sweden. It was here she learned what being Danish meant.
But nowadays the relation around the border has gone from periodically tense to exemplary. The relations are now very peaceful and the minorities on both sides of the border are spoiled in comparison to so many other places in the world.
But this part illustrates how the biggest regional support of the DRF is found in Southern Jutland.

28:00 - The tennis court was very much used by QMI's parents and today it's M&F who very much enjoy playing here with their friends. QMII admits she can't play tennis, when she manage to hit the ball it ends up anywhere. Instead she danced ballet.

Second part of the Gråsten segment:

30:00 - She discovers a fledgling, a swallow, on the net. Who has just learned to fly. "... Ooh, but it really is difficult". (30:16).

31.00 - The robo-mover. QMII has as you know never been interested in technology, but it works and it's a tremendous help, because of the huge lawns.
The dachhunds were initially deeply fascinated and barked and jumped around the movers.
31:45 - "... Then they worked out that if they stood right in front of them (the movers) they could make it stop. And that confused them even more! Bit now it seems like they take them for granted".

When the DRF are not in residence the park is open to the public and the locals very much use the park. The circular bench is a particular favorite among the public. It was a present on her 70th birthday.
When sitting there QMII talks about the bench being good, because several people can sit here without necessarily having to interact.

H.C. Andersen visited Gråsten back in the 1800's when Gråsten was owned by a noble family and it was here he wrote The Little Match Girl.

33:43 - There are quite a few swans (DK's official national bird BTW) in the pond and "Here the swans have been on land and done what swans do... The worst thing is if the dogs find out and wants to perfume themselves. They can come up with that. THAT is no fun - when you get them inside again"!
34:14 - "Mind the swan-poos, they are big"!

34:30 - In late 1944 Gråsten was turned into a lazaret by the Germans and a few employees from the court rushed down to take the furnitures to safety in the church. But this table was left behind as the only thing, it was simply too heavy! (35:01)
The Germans left in June 1945 and the DRF returned in the late summer of 1945.

Back in the chapel, she talks about death.
She likes going to church, she likes following the year within the church calendar and to hear the sermons, that sometimes are good and at other times less than interesting, but then it shouldn't be a sensation every time she believe. It's just as much about being there.
She is well aware that statistically speaking it's closer now than it used to be. It's not something she thinks about that much though. And she tries to explain that as a Christian she is glad that to her death is not the end, it's not total oblivion.
(38:25-39:55) Death - "It's not a positive thing as such. But it's... It's something that is there... it's... It's that way it is, where there is life, there is death. But... But it's not JUST that. Eeh, it's more than the grass withering only to reemerge with the seeds. It's also not just that, it's something else after all, I think. That's what I believe you find in your Christian faith. - That one is not alone in... To say it bluntly, there... One shall not go into death alone, Jesus has been there himself. That I think is the essential. - But that doesn't mean you won't be very sad and probably afraid too when it comes closer. But for the time being the statistics say that the end is closer than it used to be".

40:50 - This house used to be lived in by the gardener, but after the DRF took over it became a kind of playhouse for the children and a place to be away from the main building.
Swings: "This you probably never become too old to do".
Then it starts to rain and she urges the crew to seek shelter inside, and also her LiW.

Yes, the interior design at Haga Palace is made by interior designer Helena Belfrage together with co-workers at the Royal Collections.
Victoria said at the documentary "Haga Palace - A Royal Home", that she and Daniel were very involved with the renovation and decoration of Haga Palace, The National Property Board took care of the renovation. And they wanted to make it a modern home, but also take care of its history and cultural inheritance. So that is why they have chosen the furniture (to the representative rooms), because they tell a history. I have read that a lot of the furniture have been taken from the Royal Collections to Haga Palace, the older ones. Victoria and Daniel had also wanted to choose paintings about people who had a connection with Haga Palace. Daniel said that for them it was important to make a home which is cozy and a good place for their children to grow up. But it is also a professional working place for them, where they do part of their work, they wanted to gather people from the society to events there (like they have done at their literary salons). The swedish press told in 2010, that Madeleine and her friend Louise Gottlieb Thott were involved in the interior design of Haga Palace. Louise runs the company Gottlieb Design AB and undertakes assignments in interior design, furnishing and home styling. There were photos of Madeleine and Louise arriving to Haga with wallpaper samples, so perhaps they helped to make the interior design at the private rooms at Haga Palace, which we have not seen. And of course they could have been helping Helena Belfrage.

The main apartment at Haga Palace consists of a suite of five rooms along the façade, facing Brunnsviken. The majority of these rooms are used by Victoria and Daniel for official representation. There is the Grand room in the centre, a living room to the north, and a library and a dining room to the south.

Thank you for posting this. Just finished watching and you can tell how much the Queen loves this residence. I love her work room! Off to watch the other videos you have posted!
 
How generous is Queen Margrethe! To not only allow camera's in but to take the time from her very busy work schedule to explain the history and show us around in a very down to earth manner. No wonder she is much loved, as you add in all her other accomplishments.

It's a practical office that is clearly not used every day for hours.
No doubt just for briefings and such in connection with his work for the DRF, but everything else is probably done from an office at home or in the military.
A photo of his wife, his family and I think of himself in the windows.
I believe I've seen the photo on the floor before. It's from Schackenborg and depicts Joachim, his wife and his brother and sister-in-law. - I'm sure he'll get it up on the wall one of these weeks...?

I'm not sure whether the animals on the desk are from Africa or dinosaurs.
He has traveled to Africa often, so that could be plausible. But with two young children having dinosaurs on the desk is far from unlikely.
The two cars in the window is something personal. Joachim is an accomplished racing driver, so that's logical.

- It's a practical office, not a place where you have visitors except for an adjutant or secretary. Somewhat cold, a female touch would be nice I think.
It's a very male office. Plants in the windows?!? Why?!?

The private dining room of the king and queen of Sweden at Drottningholm Palace. This room was originally the bedroom of Carl XI’s when he stayed with his mother the Dowager Queen Hedvig Eleonora. The walls were originally covered with gilt-tooled leather, a popular choice in the 17th century, used in 24 rooms at Drottningholm at this time.
The mahogany dining table is Swedish Biedermeier, made c 1820-1830, and the chairs are Gustavian, late 18th century.
This and the following rooms on the south side of the palace are not open to the public.

A nice family-living room. A funny mix of modern with the odd antique here and there.
The table that's Ikea, right? I'm looking at a book-shelve in the exact same style right next to me.
Don't like the carpet, but it's no doubt practical with small children, a dog and a playful dad.
The green standing lamp (Don't know what they are called in English) must die. The shade doesn't work. Too dark.
