Mixed Royals and Group Pictures

Pope Franciscus seems the last one to care about a correct protocol for catholic or non-catholic royals. Queen Máxima is a roman-catholic and some say the Netherlands are no catholic country. That is correct, the state has no religion, Church and State are separated. But catholics are the largest religious denomination in the Netherlands. So in the event that there will be a fullblown white-tie-and-diadems State Visit to the Holy See, Queen Máxima can wear white if she wants.

The privilege is granted only to wives of reigning Cayholic monarchs so Maxima can not wear white.....

I like the wedding photograph of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary!
All the people around them had a chance to share in an extremely blissful day!!! :rose::rose::rose:

Does anyone know who the lady wearing red is, standing right behind Haakon and Mette Marit. I saw her at the wedding and she reminded me of my god-mother's sister-in-law and it's been bugging me for years!

What language do they speak? Spanish?

Since Spanish is both ladies mother tongue, I find it the most logical option ;)

Never in my life I´ve spoken in another language to a Latin American...

:previous:
Since Maxima is from Argentina and her mother tongue is Spanish and Letizia should be able to speak some Spanish, I'd suggest that they converse in Spanish. :whistling:
I highly doubt Letizia speaks Dutch. :flowers:

Letizia IS spanish:lol:

Whilst on Google Images, I found some lovely photos of Crown Princess Mary and Crown Princess Mette-Marit with Crown Princess Mary's daughter Princess Isabella:

Mette-Marit, Mary and Isabella One ~ Mette-Marit, Mary and Isabella Two

I do believe the event they were at was a reception for Queen Margrethe, but I would need to double check that. Isabella is too cute here, and I think this is the first photo I have seen of any one of Mary's children with the other Scandinavian Royals.

Interesting to look three rows behind the bridal couple:

The Prince and Princess of Asturias = King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia
The Duke and Duchess of Brabant = King Philippe and Queen Mathilde
The Prince and Princess of Orange = King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima

sometimes the pace of history seems to go very fast...

Some photos of Crown Prince Haakon with Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia during Haakon's visit to the country:

And another photo of Crown Princess Katherine (who was celebrating her birthday when the photo was taken), this time with Queen Silvia of Sweden and Princess Haya of Jordan at a forum in Dubai:

It's nice to see the reigning and non-reigning royals together.

Great photo of a cozy setting.

a couple of pictures showing how close the dutch, spanish and bulgarian RFs are, taken at kardam's funeral:

letizia greeting laurentien
http://www.hola.com/imagenes/realez...ia-funeral-madrid/0-324-244/f-holanda4--a.jpg

the dutch RF travelled to spain in full to attend the funeral of kardam, they were apparently close: beatrix, maxima, WA, laurentien and constantijn were in attendance

the king and queen greeting the bulgarian RF (Even though this is a private event, it is interesting to see that protocol is strictly followed: maxima and WA greeted the king and queen of the bulgarians ahead of beatrix, and they started by the king and queen of the bulgarians prior to greeting the widow)

If anyone knew and understood the suffering of Kardam's loved ones it's the DRF. They lived through the almost identical nightmare with Friso.

Very sad and moving photos.
