Sara,
As this thread is about "Longest Lived Royals" I think your listing of Diana is totally unrelated to the topic! At 36 she was hardly long lived.[/COLOR]

The oldest British royal on record is Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester. She is still alive and will celebrate her 102nd birthday on Christmas Day 2004. Lets all pray that she lives to see it.

Queen Victoria was born in 1819 and died in 1901.

Her son Aurthur was born in 1850, danced with ladies in bustles in 1870, and died with the threat of Hitler and seeing the upstart colonies coming to his country's aid in 1942.

George III was born in 1738 and lived to 1820. That's not quite up to princess Alice or Queen Mum Elizabeth, but that's outstanding given the state of the medical art in the age before Pasteur and Koch.

Here are some blasts from the past who lived long despite the lack of good medicinal care:

Louis XIV of France: 1638-1715
Louis XV of France: 1710-1774
Elizabeth I of England: 1533-1603
George III of England: 1738-1820
Eleanor of Aquitaine, wife of Henry II of England: 1124-1204
Margaret of Beaufort, mother of King Henry VII of England: 1434?-1509

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen MOther:she was born in 1900 and died in 2002

HRH Princess Alice,Duchess of Gloucester:she was born in 1901 and she still living now

Her Majesty Queen Mary,Dowager of King George V:was born in 1867 and died in 1953

who is the oldest now living royal?
Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester will be 103 on Christmas Day.

What about Prince Rainier? isnt he like 77 or 88? lol
i cant remember but its one of those. he is apparently the longerst reigning monarch in europe, i dont know if this is true though

Empress Zita, wife of the Emperor (and newly beatified) Habsburg Karl, lived to be aged 97  before she died in Switzerland in 1989. Didn't see her name on the list and she may not qualify but she was very long-lived.
Edited to add: I do see her name on the list now.

Princess Lilian of Sweden will turn 90 next year! She is not the oldest living royal (that's Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester), but I think it definitely puts her in the "oldies" league. :)
