I have a question regarding their new orders from Bulgaria. While Haakon and Mette Marit got the order with the sash = grand cross, their danish counterparts got a few months ago only the order's 1st degree = commander cross. At least according to their websites. Does anyone know why the Bulgarians made this difference? Seems odd.

I noticed this aswell Ms Griffin.

From what I recall, Mary nor Frederik wore the sash but only the breast star (or something along those lines)

Have a look at the bracelets she is wearing. Totally strange choice to go with this severe dark suit, looks like something her kids made for her.

I´m not quiet sure how often I´ve seen Queen Sonjas Galadress before, but
I don´t think it was too often! She used to wear other gowns much much more and I can only remember wearing this one (which I always found very beautiful indeed) at her 60th birthday celebrations and at the british Queen´s state visit in 2001. But I might have lost some other occasions!
I´m only too glad she didn´t wore the salmon coloured dress and the white lace one (she wore f. state visits in Sweden, Britain, Spain, from Denmark, Jordania.....)

Yes the white lace dress has seen more statevisits than any other, she also wore it for both the incomming and outgoing state visit from Belgium. The dress she wore yesterday she also wore for the Wedding of Alexandra SWB and several minor representation dinners in Norway.

As for the braclets Mette-MArit is wearing she started wearing them in Toronto and does indeed looks quite strange with this beautiful blue suit. She took them of for the gala though.

It seems the royal court has started to make newsletters here is their first from the state visit and also a link to the Kings speech, all in Norwegian ofcourse, and they are also adding a visit to Vigelandsparken for both couples today (what a truely suprising Choice of location )

Can it be bracelets that people wear to support different causes (MS, cancer and hiv/aids f.ex)?

VG has an article on a few different support-bracelets http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=275601

I don't know...Mette Marit's do look a bit home-made...

I think that Mette-Marit looks very beautiful and stylish. Of course, one must not forget that this visit is in honour of the Bulgarian Head of State and his wife. It would not be good protocol for MM to try to upstage either the Queen or the HoS's wife.

The evening function is a bit different as everyone is allowed to dress elegantly and eyecatchingly.

It's great that they publish such thorough reports! Now we can only hope that the Swedish and Norwegian Courts will take after the British one day, and make their own version of the fabulous "Royal Insight" that they have.

I loved Mette-Marits black suit outfit from the receiving ceremonies, that was so stylish! And she has quite nice legs too, if I may say so...

Lunch hosted by the Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and his stylish wife (and also very smart, she is a diplomat and used to be in the forreign ministry department, it was said she helped Mette-Marit back in 2001 but she would not speak about it) Ingrid Schulerud. The Prime Minister is in the middle of the budget and did not attend the gala dinner last night nor did he attend the welcomming ceremony which he usually does.

Mette-Marit has looked great lately, and this is no exception. But the king looks terribly ill.

Mette-Marit looked beautiful! Her outfit was simlply stunning!
I like the way she styles her hair.
Nice to see her and Prince Haakon so close.
The Queen looks lovely, but I don't like the shawl she wore over the shoulders.

They didn't wear sashes because they only got a lower rank of the order which doesn't have a sash. But this difference - meaning one heir (+wife) gets the highest rank, another heir (+heir) gets a lower rank - seems odd. Are there any deeper relations between Norway and Bulgaria that we non- Norwegians and non- Bulgarians are not aware of? ?

Nettavisen has another special from Akershus, called the Matching ROyal Family, how Harald and Haakon wore similar outfits (yes suits and ties ) and that both Sonja and Mette-Marit choose cream colors
Nothing from last night though
