What a shame that Haakon Lorentzen and his family couldn't be there but understandable given the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thanks. I already wondered why only his two daughters put some 'dirt' on the coffin; one of them doing it twice, so I am sure one was in her brother's name.
It must have been really hard for Haakon and family not to be able to bury their father(in-law) and grandfather. I hope they had a good farewell ceremony before he was send off to Norway.

And Ragnhild Alexandra's surname is in one article given as Lorentzen, so I suppose she is divorced with Aaron Long.

Actually he died in Norway and lived there for some time so not sure when Haakon saw his father the last time in real life.

We still may not and may never know exactly how Ragnhild managed to win approval for marrying Lorentzen... but someone forgot to or couldn't make His Majesty look happy about it. (Oh, dear.)
I laughed when I saw it, but I also feel pretty sorry for him... He lived through WWII and he looks as though permitting this is going to destroy everything.

Granted she was the King's eldest child and never in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne but I wonder had Olav V hoped that Princess Ragnhild would marry a foreign Prince.
Were the Lorentzens more or less exiled to Brazil after the wedding?

The king's eldest grandchild, at the time. Neither Olav nor Märtha were approving but they seem to have come around to at least smile for Ragnhild in this. Haakon is the one who had to sign off and the one who looks like he would rather be back in exile.

And Aaron Long delivered the scripture readings at the funeral of his father-in-law in March.
In Norway it is not uncommon for a married woman to retain her own name. While Ragnhild seems to use Ragnhild Lorentzen Long in a professional context, the royal court has referred to her as Ragnhild Lorentzen.

Some of the jewels belonging to Princesses Ragnhild and Astrid will return to the main line, but some are for their descendants.

I doubt their children will have much use for the historic pieces?

Yes, I meant the remaining diadem broken up to use it for personal jewelry.

I'd rather see them return to main line than see them broken up.

Two weddings in Lorentzen family!
Olav Alexander Lorentzen (b.1985) [son of Haakon Lorentzen (b.1954) {himself eldest of three children of Princess Ragnhild of Norway (1930-2012), m.1953 Erling Sven Lorentzen (1923-2021)} & his wife Martha, nee Carvalho de Freitas (b.1958)] married Ingrid Kraus de Andrade Nogueira (b.1988) last year.
Christian Frederik Lorentzen (b.1988) [son of Haakon Lorentzen (b.1954) {himself eldest of three children of Princess Ragnhild of Norway (1930-2012), m.1953 Erling Sven Lorentzen (1923-2021)} & his wife Martha, nee Carvalho de Freitas (b.1958)] married Mariah de Oliveira Pedrosa (b.1991) this year.

Had the change in the line of succession from male-only to primogeniture occurred earlier, Olav's wedding would have been a huge celebration, as he is the eldest child of the eldest child (Haakon) of the eldest child (Ragnhild) of the previous king (Olav V). Olav would be the current crown prince (after his father king Haakon); and his younger brother Christian would be second in line to the throne.
