Apparently there will be a state dinner at the Royal Palace for the P of W and Camilla, will this be a full formal occasion do we think? Hoping camilla will get the order of st olav for the occasion. The "state dinner" makes me think this will be a tiara wearing, white tie affair.

If I'm not mistaken, state dinners in Norway are always (or almost always) white-tie events, so hopefully there will indeed be a tiara opportunity for the Duchess of Cornwall. Personally, I would absolutely love to see some magnificent jewellery on display both by the Duchess of Cornwall and the Norwegian royal ladies.

This definitely sounds like a white tie/tiara event. Fingers crossed!
Thanks a lot for posting details of the upcoming trip!

Thank you for the link. It is going to be a very emotional meeting and I'm glad Their Royal Highnesses have included it in their schedule.
I wonder whether they'll be accompanied by any of the Norwegian royals for the meeting.

It's not that funny actually, seeing as Prince Charles and Camilla are the "Crown Princely" couple of the UK. In Denmark they will be escorted by their Danish equivalents. The Regent Couple escorting them in Norway is the odd thing, it should be Haakon and Mette Marit.

I think it's very nice of the Norwegians, and rather a compliment, that the King and Queen themselves will host Charles and Camilla. Not surprising I suppose, the BRF seem to be much closer to the Norwegian than the Danish RF.

Indeed. Apart from the Dutch royals, the Norwegian royal family appears to be closest to the British one.
If I'm not mistaken, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were the only crown princely couple from a reigning house to attend the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla. The King of Norway is also the Queen's closest related Head of State, being her 2nd sinuous.

Sorry I wasn't clear before. I agree with you. Haakon and Mette-Marit should be the ones with Prince Charles and Camilla, in my opinion.

The King of Norway is the highest non-British royal in the line of succession to the British throne at 65th. The King of Sweden is 203rd and the Queen of Denmark is 215th.

Ive noticed on past events that MM usually curties for Camilla, even though they are even in rank. Must have to do something with personal respect or appreciation.

Indeed interesting to see, like in 2005, the curtsey from Mette Marit to Camilla.
The Duchess of Cornwall seems to look particulary good, with hat and all. Hope she left her dowdy side at home and will bring some "Camilla chic" during these visits !

Strange way Mette-Marit is curtseying - it looks like she is just squatting/bending her knees. Neither of her legs is crossed behind the other.

MM & Haakon were one of the few CP couples attending the wedding of C&C, there is a special connection.
