Well, the white-tie diplomat-dinner, which is hosted by The Regent-Couple every third year (every other year until 2009), is taking place at The Royal Palace this evening. Princess Astrid is also in attendance.
But in contrast to the annual white-tie Stortings-dinner (gala-dinner for the Parliament), NTB (The Norwegian News Agency) is not allowed inside the palace to film the greetings, royal procession and speeches for NRK/TV2. - Although they were let in to take some pictures, yes, even film the royals when they were processing into The Banqueting Hall in 2016.
And so they were tonight: photo 1 - photo 2 - video.
BTW: Why isn't The CP-Couple in attendance?
1. The Crown Prince is still in Colombia as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP - February 11-14th.
2. The Crown Princess is probably resting after her stay in Sweden, attending The Alpine World Ski Championships with The Crown Prince - February 8-10th.

I was a bit busy yesterday evening, so I forgot to mention two things in the above post:
First: Take a look from 2:00 in the video I posted, to see some very relieved guardsmen finally having the chance to move their hands/legs after standing on parade along the procession-route inside the Royal Palace for about 30 min.
Second: The dinner was introduced early in the reign of King Haakon VII, but unsure of the exact year.
BTW: Here's another video (with better quality) where one can see all the diplomats plus wives/husbands, some ministers, courtiers and the royals (152 people in total) processing into The Banqueting Hall ( link).
Hmm, was there anything more, yes: Nobody are doing white-tie gala-dinners like The NRF. I mean, while the guests/royals in The UK, DK and Sweden are processing through some vestibules, here we have a Music Hall, two beautiful Ballrooms plus two Banqueting Halls to walk through, and that despite The Royal Palace being much smaller than that in Stockholm.
So, if you haven't done it already, check out these rooms here ( link).

 Thanks, Iceflower!
That is the vessel which Princess Ingrid Alexandra (accompanied by her father) christened back in November. Read more about it and ''FF Kronprins Haakon'' in post 20.
BTW, here is an English Wikipedia article ( link).

It's lovely to see the Lorentzen's headed by Erling himself who's looking healthy. I love Princess Astrid's outfit too.
