Great photos. Mette-Merit, get a smaller hat! Great pair of legs. Good thing she is sitting down. With all of that extra weight, I bet her skinny legs are tired! Queen Sonja often reminds me of Meryl Streep. And just as stunning.

Regarding the large hat, I'm sure MM is deferring to her moter-in-law as not the one to be noticed ~ I can see where Queen Sonja looks sort of "alone" without her husband at her side and it's her face people may want to see. However, it's always a "treat" to see MM with her shining hair and engaging smile.

Maybe not when she is sitting down, but the Crown Princess certainly looks heavily pregnant when she walks/stands.

I was fortunate to be present at yesterday's ceremony, being seated close to the aisle. Thus I had a very good view of the royals when they arrived. I'm no expert on pregnancies, but to me she appeared very pregnant. At least 8 months.

You see it when she's sitting as well. She looks like she's slouching in the chair, which I doubt she is...

She looks about 8 months pregnant although the dark clothes and the coat covers it, a lot.

Why did MM decide to wear the same hat ?Sophie wore it ca.5 weeks ago?I think it´s unbelieveable that mm hasn´t seen Sophie´s hat...

I don't know how much the other royals keep up to date on the activities of each other, like us! Mette-Marit has had a lot going on in the weeks since Sophie wore it, including her pregnancy, a young son to take care of, a trip to Russia, duties at home in Norway, moving to a new home, and more recently, the diagnosis of cancer of her father-in-law. I think that keep track of what Sophie of Wessex or any other royal is wearing is the last thing on Mette-Marit's list.

And Mette-Marit could've bought the hat before Sophie, but Sophie just had a chance to wear it before her.

Or maybe it's a nice hat and Mette-Marit liked it as much as Sophie did, so why not both of them wear it since they weren't attending the same event.

Actually this is the third time I've noticed MM wearing a hat identical to that worn by British Royalty. (different color if I remember though)

It could be MM shops in Britain at the same place the other royals do for hats and obviously they are mass produced or recycled.

It was QEII, Camilla and now Sophie that wore hats identical to MM. Could it be MM is uncertain about how to choose hats, and is letting the "experts" decide for her?

I think MM is a classic and great beauty with no sense of style, but she'll learn with time. Right now the best she can do might be to copy others. BTW, thumbs down on all 3 hats.

I can't remember now where I saw the pictures. One was a hat that QEII wore rather recently. The other one was worn by either Camilla or one of the queen's cousins. I think it was Camilla but I'm not certain. If I run across them again, I'll post em.

Correct comments, Alexandria&#33; I don&#39;t think there was any "decision" MM made at all regarding the wearing of the same hat as Sophie. She had the hat, and it was available, so... she wore it&#33; Having a "dresser" like Diana, Princess of Wales did is something I don&#39;t think MM has at this moment. She may have "an advisor" but she/he, IMHO, would be keeping a very low-key position at this time. MM doesn&#39;t look like a person who would "just fall apart" if some Countess in England wore the same hat as she&#33;

MM&#39;s mind probably occupies thoughts regarding her pregnancy along with a safe delivery, her father-in-law&#39;s illness, her first state visit to Russia, and being the wife of a Crown Regent (sp?), not withstanding her new home, taking care of Marius who just started school recently, the Christmas Holidays, and trying to look as good as she can while pregnant, etc. ~ and certainly not about what Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, wearing the same hat as Mette-Marit&#33;

Some more pictures from last years ceremony. During the award ceremony she looked awfully tired and wore a jacket which did not fit and looked not at all ...hrm.. glowing. But during the concert she looked very beautiful with her hair styled and smiling
