A question if anyone can help me to clarify, why does Princess Astrid never make an appearance at the Welcoming Ceremony but only appears for the official photograph? Thanks lots.

She is wearing the Vasa tiara. Crown Princess Märtha received it as a wedding gift from the Swedish people. It is really beautiful, imho.
The ladies looked beautiful, but I was missing some colour on the group pics. They obviously coordinated their dress colours. And they obviously went for understated jewellery.
Märtha-Louise looked especially radiant.

Interesting point - she only pops up after they're all inside for pictures. I have no idea why, but my two theories are: 1) Astrid has struggled with poor health throughout her life, so maybe they don't like to make her move around, or 2) Astrid is not an official member of the Royal Family the way the others are. (Although reason 2 begs the question of why she's in the picture at all.)
I love all the dresses tonight, especially Maria Teresa's!

Princess Astrid is not a part of the direct Royal Family,the Monarch + spouse and the CP + spouse.Only they attend the welcoming ceremonies for obvious reasons.Princess Astrid is always awaiting the guests at the Palace after the initial welcoming for the more private welcome and pics.Astrid once was the "First Lady" when her father,King Olav V,was a widower,she took the honneurs and welcomed guests of State at the side of her father.In this case she ofcourse knows Henri ever since he was a child so it is just a warm personal touch added to the welcome after what protocol orders officially.

Out of Protocol to me Princess Astrid is an important Royal such as the late Grand Duchess Josephine Charlotte. She is older than the King and has a close family relationship among the Courts of Denmark, Sweden Belgium and Luxembourg.
She is Cousin of King Albert II , the late Grand Duchess Josephine Charlotte the late Prince Georges and Fleming of Denmark/Rosenberg.
And if I am not wrong she is the great grand-daugher of King Gustav V of Sweden
