Norway's royal family kept up tradition Monday by attending church services at the restored Holmenkollen Chapel in the hills about Oslo. The crown prince's new fiancé joined in for the first time.
King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and his fiancé Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby and Princess Märtha Louise led the list of luminaries attending Oslo's most exclusive Christmas services.
King Harald's uncle, Swedish Prince Carl Bernadotte and his wife Princess Kristine, who celebrate Christmas with the Norwegian royals at their nearby hillside lodge, were also along for the services.
This year marked 10 years since Norway's former monarch, King Olav, attended services at Holmenkollen fort the last time. He died in January 1991.
This year is also the first time the royal fiancé was in attendance, but her young son from a previous relationship wasn't along. He reportedly spent Christmas Eve with his father.
