Agree! - And we have a lot of them actually, both when it comes to girls and boys, but ''Sølvguttene'' (The Silver Boys) and ''Nidarosdomens Guttekor'' (Nidaros Cathedral Boys) are by far the most popular ones (they've sung for the pope and everything).

Which is the oldest group: The Norwegian Girl's Choir, The Silver Boys or Nidaros Cathedral Boys?

Well, The Nidaros Cathedral Boys' Choir (Norway's oldest choir) was first founded in the 1100s and re-established in 1927, The Silver Boys in 1940, and The Norwegian Girl's Choir in 1947 as The Norwegian Broadcasting Company’s Girls Choir, which was closed down in 1994 - and re-established in 1995.

Read about all three of them in English in the above posts.

I love seeing the Norwegian Royal family at Christmas time. It always looks so joyful and cosy somehow. Perhaps not so happy this year with the disclosure of Mette-Marit's serious health problems, but everyone looks happy in these photos and the children, especially Ingrid-Alexandra, have really grown. Fabulous!

Perhaps they will stay closer now more than ever with the sickness of Mette-Marit.

What festive photos! I like how some of the ornament balls are hanging with a length of red ribbon. I like how both Haakon and his father Harald wear red ties.

I was a bit tired (and my better-half disturbed me) when I wrote this post last night, so I decided to rewrite/repost it - and add some more information.

Thanks eya!

Well, nobody does Christmas-photos like The NRF (at least IMO).

The pictures were taken in the beautiful Red Drawing Room by Håkon Mosvold Larsen from NTB scanpix (The Norwegian News Agency).

And here's a photo where one can see more of that room (link).

--------------------

In other news: As usual, The Queen and The CP-Couple will, also this year, undertake their annual pre-Christmas visits.

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess will visit the Organisation for ''Families and Friends of Prisoners'' in Oslo on Dec 17th, while HM will visit The Children's Ward at Ullevål University Hospital (also in Oslo) on Dec 21st.

--------------------

Christmas-celebrations: The CP-family will (according to the court) celebrate with The Regent-Couple at Kongsseteren, which is situated on Voksenkollen in the outskirts of Oslo, not long from Holmenkollen. Not that surprising since they celebrated with CP MM's family at Skaugum last year.

About Kongsseteren (The Royal Lodge) - English Royal House article (link). - Plus a separate link to a pretty good photo.

About Holmenkollen - English Wikipedia article (link).

BTW: After the Lodge was completed in 1911, The RF used to celebrate every Christmas there during the reigns of Haakon VII and Olav V, something the King and Queen have mostly continued with.

And no, we haven't heard anything about Märtha and her children yet, but they will most likely celebrate with the Behn family (as Ari celebrated with the royals last year).

Well, they haven't been part of the Christmas-photos since 2005. - Why? Hmm, probably something to do with the fact that Märtha is not a member of the Royal House, and that The King/court want the focus to be on the main players.

Nobody said that. That was purely a remark about glasses. Beyond that I doubt that they do sit weeping about the CPss`s illness every day, nor think about it all the time....! I´m convinced this family is smart enough just not to do that!
Some people seem to be more obsessed with MMs sickness than her family or even she is... I wonder how long it will take until this subject is not mentioned every time when there are news or discussions about the Princess. Hardly helpful.

I'm sorry, but what are you talking about?
You made a comment about Sverre's pair of glasses and I made a comment about the same pair of glasses.

Love the new Christmas photos. IA looks as if she's going to be quite tall and Sverre Magnus is really growing up too. My favourite photo is the photo of the family together with Harald and Sonja.

I´m sorry, but I got it completely wrong! I thought your comment was ironic and was related to the royal family and not that silly glasses issue...!Perhaps I mixed things up with the comment of Maria Olivia who brought that sickness thing on the map once again.
