100th anniversary of the Coronation

I'm curious! They have all this beautiful regalia and don't have any coronations anymore. Now it is the oath and a statement I beleive. Why was the coronation and all the trappings done away with? It seems it would be more relevant to celebrate 100 years of monarchy if the regalia was used once in a while. What do you think?
Thanks,
Linda 85

Thanks for the translation, Norweigeanne, or the explanation on the Crown Jewels. I guess the first new king had to get brand new furniture if it all was shipped to Sweden.

Thank you so so much Larzen for all the photos!!! :D
And to Norwegianne for the info on the Crown Jewels
May I enquire, Larzen, are you planning to sleep for the duration of the event? ;)

I like the Mette Marit's coat, it is original!
It is today the childrens (Ingrid and Sverre) coming to the event??

No, today is a day of, there is a private lunch in Stiftsgården which I dont think there will be pictures of. Maybe we will see some pictures of the 3 Princesses and their families who are due to arrive later today.

It is not said anything in the program about the attendance of the children but Haakon said they might come to an event or two, and IMO the evnt on Friday on Sverresborg seems fairly relaxed and its outside with a bonefire so maybe we`ll see them there.

first pics from Trondheim, from http://www.adressa.no/

Queen Sonja is really the Queen-of-Sunglasses ;) !
It seems she never goes out without them!
She recycled her last outfit (she wore it for the Statevisit from Spain, too).

I don't really like the Jacket on MM  . Don't know what's disturbing me...
Thanks to all Photo-posters! :)

Yes its the same building as Märtha Louise waved from, the royal residence in Trondheim, its ahuge yellow wooden building. Its not really a balconny thought, its more like 3 or 4 steps up and this is the entrance to the door where they stand, when there are no royals in the building you can walk and stand there yourself. Both women are wearing recyckled suits and hats.

I really like Mette-Marits outfits on this trip. Especially that she's wearing hats. The coat she wore in Austrått is nice!! When does the official program start in Trondheim? Today og tomorrow?

I love the black and white coat that Mette-Marit wore on arrival. This is the third time she's worn it and the second time she's used that nice hat with it. I'm sure the royals are glad to have lighter day today before the rest of the program starts tomorrow.

the Lorentzens, Ferners and Märtha and Ari has arrived to Britannia Hotel in Trondheim, I can recognise some of them but not all, maybe someone can make an identification of all of them, excet for the obious ones. Maud and Leah has not come to Trondheim.

The service tomorrow will be broadcast live on NRK from 10.50, Bishop of Nidaros Finn Wagle will preside, it was he who lead the service for King Haralds blessing in 1991, and he who married Märtha and Ari, he has just been on sick leave for 6 months after a heart operation, and this is his comeback

Tonight there was a private dinner in Stiftsgården, there is though a pic of Märtha and Ari leaving the hotel

here is more of the arrival to the hotel
