Sorry Ghislaine, the two long commentaries I wrote yesterday both here and on the British thread didn’t go over well, I must have been in a very pessimistic mood.

Here I tried to make sense of all the "shoving Charlene down everyone’s throat" going on in Monaco, all the photos, the countless magazines, and reading all the roayl boards, etc.. as meaning its leading up to something and I tried to put myself in the mindset of those that want to see these two married.

Seeing as I am not one of those who think that “oh she looks pretty in that dress and therefore she should be princess” category, the “horror script” as you so impeccably described my prediction post yesterday is the best scenario I could come up with in finding anything positive that could come from this relationship between PA and CW.

Just to put your mind at ease Ghislaine , my psychic predictions for the future have about a 98% failure rate. Whenever I predict something is going to happen, my husband says “oh that’s the kiss of death, now it will never happen” Hence its best I wrote it.

I'm just curious, but why do you suppose a label ("official companion") was given to CW when, compare to other royal girlfriends or brides-to-be), there was not an official recognition until the official announcement of an engagement? I mean, it seems like PA (or his advisors) were compelled to make that label.

Here we have Kate Middleton and Prince William supposedly on a holiday together in the Seychelles, and yet we see nothing from the Royal Household announcing that they are back again.

I would say "official companion" makes sense - he's not committed to her beyond arm candy at official functions (including sporting events); other than that, she seems to serve no purpose, and they have no real chemistry.

I have to agree with the lack of chemistry between the twosome. I'm just back from an evening at the sporting and the two of them were there. Albert, although tired, seemed to be enjoying himself, whereas she was bored and disinterested. For a young couple in love, they give a pretty miserable impression. He seemed to be more lvingly then her though. She gave the appearance of a rather cold person. I have heard some other people say that she is always like that and the good willing ones were putting it down to shyness. None the less when Albert sang whole heartedly I will always love you, there was zilch between the two. No smile, no look, nothing. She sat with the back to him and I saw several people look towards them from all over the room checking for some indication of love or emtion between them. But in vain. If that is a loving couple then Macca and Heather Mills will be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary if they live long enough. There was more between those two on the recent pics I saw, then between Charlene and Albert.

Edited to correct my mistake about a song. All songs were Ray Charles and Albert was singing I can't stop loving you. Still I would have expected some eyecontact there. Okay I wasn't under the table so maybe he squeezed her hand a little as he sang, but I'm sure that if the person I was in love with did that, I would turn and give at least a little smile.

I am glad Prince Albert is back in town. You were at an event tonight with Prince Albert and Charlene, do you think it is big enough that we will see pictures of them? From all of their photos, they seem in love and happy to me. Why do you think they are not? He seems to look at her with puppy eyes. Many photos have shown his loving eyes toward her. I believe that she is shy around all those people, she doesn't understand a word they are saying and she is always in the spotlight around him. I do think that if they are in love, he is the one with the most feelings. But I would rather think that she loves him too. I just hope for the best.

probably you will see some in the local media. Don't know about agencies. And no there were no loving glances from her. He took her hand at occasions (though obviously I didn't stare at them all the time as that would have been rude to people seated at my table and to them obviously), but during the show that was given, she sat with her back to him and very obviously did not enjoy herself. He had fun, like everyone else and he seemed to share the same kind of humour. There were certain things that just communicate and are funny without words. From her not a smile. She was seated next to some younger people to ensure that people would know enough English to talk to her. But even if not, she has been in the spotlight for almost 2 years now, she had nothing to do but learn the language and surely would have or has been given the means to learn it, if that is the life and position she wants, then she should better give some signs that she is getting used to it. I find her much less secure and self assured then in the beginning of the relationship. With other superexposed couples of a similar kind we have seen the opposite happening. And if you look towards Norway, you will notice that Mette maritt had a larger and more vocal opposition to face. Charlene has at present most of the tabloids on her side. She does not face bad press, only gossip behind her back. What is she going to do when the going gets really tough?

In any case, if she continues on this road and keeps as cold and uninterested etc, then I don't think that people will warm to her. And she should give some serious thoughts to her future.

Lilae, there weren't any razzis. There were only accredited photographers, unless of course you would call the volunteers razzis . What she is like in private, I have no idea. I hope for Albert that she shows more feeling. BUt really, IMO when you are deeply in love and at the brink of marriage, I should hope that no matter how many people are around, sth will display outwardly no matter how much you try to hide it. Take a look at the pics of Felipe and Letizia when he visited her station before their relationship was known. Inspite of all self control, that woman was beaming with love. And so was he. And look at the pics from the Olympics. There was no hesitation of display there. As I don't think that there is any need of that type of public display, a naturally loving gesture or look would not raise any eyebrows. Albert does show that sort of thing, though I think he is a naturally touching person, so that might mean less with him, then with someone who is more reserved. It all seems very odd.

The title is saying that Charlene is going to Caroline's school, apparently to learn how to be a princess. Charlene has got the best teacher in Europe.

Albert has been saying the same thing ad nauseum for a while now regardless whom he is dating. I get the opinion that he loses interest once he knows he has the girl...and he likes spending time in large groups where Charlene wants to be more in a 1:1 situation with him and the center of his attention. I dunno...maybe she disappears for a while...

Is the plot thickening? Could Charlene be mad that he went on vacation and left her behind? None of us knows what happens behind their closed doors, but I was optimistic about Prince Albert finally settling down. Only time will tell. They have seemed happy in recent photos and I don't notice anything peculiar in these recent ones at the volunteer's party, but some observers do seem to think that the lovebirds seem distant from each other. I still insist that the age difference is too big between them and he is set in his bachelor ways. I have seen him look at her with puppy eyes because let's face it, she is very pretty and young and he is getting older and plump. If I were her, I wouldn't be happy with a man who cannot commit and has no plans to marry me. She may not have much going for her now, but she could find her way in life without him. I hope this is not a relationship based on money, status and need. I do hope for their own sake that their is love and that they will finally commit to each other soon.
