My mother and father have said that there were Royals in my family tree. Some comments were made of Ivan the Terrible and Vlad the Impaler. My mother's tree indicated of Royals of Holland. I do not know for sure? Mom has said we were Black Dutch Jews? My Aunt Mary from my dad's side said we were related to both Vlad Trebes and Ivan the Terrible. We would like to know these truths.

It can be fun searching for records. Start with yourself, then your parents, birth, baptism, marriage records. Then back the next generation. Birth and marriage records usually give parents.
