Joined to learn more about the Habsburgs

Hello! I have been interested in British & Russian royal history for years, but my husband & I will be making our first trip to Austria & Hungry next year. We love to learn about the history & culture of a region prior to visiting. I've been researching Maria Terese & Elisabeth of Bavaria in particular & hope to gain more knowledge from the forums on this site.

Welcome, htbharry!

The Habsburg dynasty is quite possibly the most fascinating one out there, and certainly at least as interesting as the Windsors or Romanovs.
There is a sub-forum here dedicated to the Habsburgs - The Imperial House of Habsburg.
A couple of threads that should be of particular interest to you:
- Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth (Sissi)
- Empress Maria Theresia and Emperor Franz I
-
Empress Maria Theresa's daughters
