Hello all.

It is good to be here, but I must from the outset declare an ulterior motive. I am an academic, working at King's College, London and I'm doing some research on Royal Events in London, in particular the 1953 Coronation and the recent Jubilees, and the experiences enjoyed by people watching these events on big screens in London.

So, I would like to talk to people who watched the Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the big screens either along the river route or in London Parks, who watched the Golden Jubilee concert on the big screens in the Mall, or watched the 1953 Coronation on the cinema screen in the Royal Festival Hall.

If you are able to help me with this, of have friends, family or colleagues who you think might, do please get in touch.

Thank you so much, I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Well, I am an American, so I cannot help you with your task. But I am an academic, and so I can respect you for your work. Good luck and welcome aboard.

You will find many people here are generalists and a few are specialists with massive skills and knowledge. Some have Facebook, Twitter and Blog pages devoted to their topics of interest. The mods do yeoman work to keep all on topic and civil. Between all of us, it makes for always entertaining and usually enchanting forums.
Best of luck to you!

Hi  and :welcome: I hope you enjoy your time on the site.

Hi Ruth

Welcome to the forums and good luck with your research. There is a large section devoted to the Jubilee - a thread under Bitish Royals. I remember some people posting their own pix so that might be a starting point.
