Really iceflower? I'm still not so sure I like it. I mean, it doesn't look horrible but I'm just not jumping out saying "I love it!" either. It's very shiny (because that sounds like such a professional observation

) and very colourful though. I am in love with Charlotte's dress though. She's pulled it out of the bag again this year!

Caroline usually chooses her dresses according to the topic. This one is very bright of course.

In one of the Getty images you can see Alex in the background. Not sure I'm liking Caroline's bag - whereas Charlotte's whole look seems pretty perfect.

What I like is that it's fresh, colourful and different! That had led
to my first impression

I am actually surprised that Charlotte and Charline look so similar,
same colour and fabrics, like sisters

Caroline definitely is an
eye catcher between them.

From the pics I've got of that dress (http://www.millionlooks.com/images/c...ing-2010-6.jpg) I think it looks very similar. Perhaps Charlotte's just a little smaller/shorter than the model?

I think it has been modified because the side doesn't look the same but I think we must wait for new photos to verify it

Caroline is shimmering inside and out

I just love her dress

and her hair she reminds of the Caroline of the 70 and 80's. She really is a beautiful woman!

Perhaps you're right. The hemline does look a little squarer but I think there's a small side split (I could be wrong). I have to come right out and say that I'm not a fan of Charlene's dress.

I'm not going to say she looks bad (I mean, the top half of her dress is fine) but something in me just doesn't like how high cut that dress is. It's not a matter of indecency or anything and I'm all for saying "If you've got it, flaunt it." But perhaps just because it's not something I would personally choose, I don't like it. But I'm not going to bash it either, because she can wear whatever she likes. I am determined to find out what designer Caroline's wearing though. I can't remember seeing that in any recent collection.

I prefer Charlotte's dress to the original as I think it looks more apprpiate for this kind of event

I still don't think it has.

I think it's just the side split. It looks different because of the way the model was posing. I think it's the same dress.

The way Caroline's dress is gathered towards the bottom is very unusual. I think this is one of the best "turn-outs" for the Rose Ball in quite a few years- just wish Stephanie was there.

attends the ball as a guest of honour as well as French Culture Minister
Frederic Mitterrand.
Other guests I've seen so far are Italian singer Umberto Tozzi and wife.
Borja Tyssen and wife and French journalist and TV host Stephane Bern.

Pierre attends with his girlfriend Beatrice.
Mélanie, granddaughter of Princess Antoinette attends as well.
