Yo day, there was the ordination of the new bishop of Monaco, Dominique Marie David et the cathedrale of Monaco
Prince Albert, Princess charlene were present also all the family De Massy
No presence of Caroline her children, Princesse Stéphanie and her children, thi event was an important event on Monaco, the bishop of Monaco is the third important person in Monaco after, prince Albert, the state minister
It is a shame!
First photo of the princely couple waiting for the new bishop at the big door of the carhedrale
Here is the first phto

Nice to see Charlene accompanying Albert to this event. I like her rather sober outfit and the longer hair.
Would have been nice to see Caroline but I wasn't really expecting her as she was not present for the farewell for Mgr Barsi. Never expected to see Stephanie.
It will be interesting to see where the new Archbishop leads the church in Monaco - I believe he is from an evangelical wing of the Catholic church.

Pity neither of the Prince's sisters were present for the installment of the new Archbishop of Monaco who have always enjoyed a warm relationship with the Princely Family.

They could be present together with their children to this important event for the principauty, the children are no more children , the nephews of the prince had to be present to the ceremonye, it was only a afternoon
No excuse for all the family Grimaldi

Why should they be there? You spend the majority of the time pointing out how the Princely Family is Albert, Charlene and the twins - and then you suddenly want the whole smala present. You complained when they were all there for National Day. Of the 7 nephews and nieces 4 of them don't even live in the Principality. A little consistency please...

Well, the De Massy’s were present. Maybe the sisters could have made an effort too.
Good to see the couple at an event again. I like the longer hair of P Charlene. Does this mean she is not training as much as before? She did say that she prefers a shorter style when she is training often.
Thanks for posting the pictures and video.

The De Massys also attend the Ste. Devote events which neither Caroline or Stephanie do anymore. And they haven't yet been accused of trying to steal her thunder.
Seems to me they're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I think the difference here is that an ordination usually takes place once every 20 years and it was also the last time Mgr Barsi presided a mass and sat on the episcopal chair as the official archbishop. This was a very moving moment. Mgr Barsi gave prince Rainier the last communion, he celebrated his funeral, he celebrated Prince Albert´wedding, baptised the twins, confirmed Alexandra ...
The new archbishop will bear the same role for the family presumably for the next 15-20 years. The sisters should have been present not because they are members of the family but out of respect for Mgr Barsi who was present for important official and major personal events of the family.
I spotted during the mass two members of the congregation of the missionaries of the divine mercy (Abbé Fabrice Loiseau and Abbé Albéric Greteau), it is a traditional catholic congregation and is close to Prince Jean d’Orleans. They often visite the congregation.

it was a big event in Monaco, the new archibishop is the third important person in Monaco, he will attend as Mgr Barsi to every bad and happy events in the Grimaldi family, as the former archibishop and père Penzo, he will be almost a member of the family
It is why Princess Caroline and princess Stéphanie and their children had to be present to the ordination the people of Monaco Don't understand why they were not present like the De Massy family who was attending the ordination yesterday
The catholic religion is the state religion of Monaco, the Grimaldi family has to have respect for these sort of religious events

When Caroline didn't show up to Monseigneur Barsi's farewell I was surprised but it subsequently turned out she was away - I'm pretty certain given her personal faith she would have made private farewells. I can't speak for Stephanie but she has a lower and lower profile so still not especially surprised.
I see absolutely no reason why any of the nieces and nephews should turn up when the majority of them don't live in Monaco - and all of them are private citizens.
It might have been politic for Caroline to turn up but I stand by my assertion that had she done so there would have been accusations of muscling in on Charlene's place. I'm also pretty certain that if she wasn't there it was for reason - and not because she was organising the Rose Ball... (as certain people have suggested).
So yes, institutionally maybe Caroline and Stephanie should have put in an appearance. However, I don't think that certain people are remotely offended by the fact that the sisters weren't there - in fact, they are positively gleeful - it's fake shock. The irony is that those same people have all kinds of ridiculous excuses for Charlene not turning up to various events, including ones of which she is a patron.
Personally, I think it's more important that Prince Albert and Princess Charlene were there.

Oh please! You're loving it! More excuses to have a go at Caroline and Stephanie.
And you aren't the spokesperson for the people of Monaco.

For me and for other persons in Monaco, there are no excuse for the family of Caroline and family of Stéphanie not to be present to the ordination of the new archibishop , you can say any excuse for the princesses and their children, it is a fault from them
But I will not stay on this, no matter they were present or not , the most important persons to be present was the princely couple
During the ceremony, there was not the peace moment (moment when the persons kissed or shake the hands of the persons near them) and the princely couple did not take the communion, because the corona virus and also because the corona virus for the communion of the princely couple who did not take the communion

Sorry - is it no matter or is there no excuse? Which is it? Really no excuse? Living in another country, being sick, none of those are relevant reasons?
Like I said, slightly surprised at Caroline, not in the least surprised at Stephanie, see absolutely no reason why their children (private citizens - not members of the Princely Family as you like to point out) should he there and frankly couldn't care less about the De Massys who are even further away from the succession than the aforementioned.
And had they turned up what would you have said?

French director Claude Lelouch with Prince Albert and Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc during the shooting of his short movie "Le grand rendez-vous", in Monaco, on 24 May as the Principality eases lockdown measures taken to curb the spread of the COVID-19
Andrea, Pierre and Beatrice was also there.

Now I'm confused, in the P.Charlene thread her foundation is said to enter a team in the virtual 24h of Le Mans with Charles Leclerc on the team, and in this shoot Charles does a drive around Monaco with several members of the MRF in attendance, but not P.Charlene?
Or was she just not mentioned?

Charlene participates via photograph which is a great implication of her tireless efforts.
That and not appearing is a show of how discreet and hardworking she is. But that only counts for her - anybody else does that, or even worse, have no photographs whatsoever - well, they don't care and are doing absolutely nothing.
It's a fine balance, you see, between a handful of photographs showing you're doing something but you're discreet, too many photographs and meetings via computer when you're just showing off, and not having any publicity in which case you must be doing nothing at all.
Anyway, snarking aside, it was good to see that Monaco is returning to business as usual and Albert and co were having fun. Monaco depends a lot on its image and motor racing so this, I'm guessing, is all good publicity and is sound business sense. Some people's livelihoods depend on life getting back to normal.

I agree that everything that helps to get live back to normal again is welcome and good to see quite a large turnout of the extended family (not just P.Albert)
