Yes, unlike last year she is wearing the female version of the sash. The thing that's wrong this time is that she's wearing it too close to her neck. It should be sitting further along her shoulder the way Caroline's is. Sheesh, I suppose she can try and be third time lucky at wearing the right sash at the right angle next year. No wonder she can't speak French if she can't even get something as simple as wearing her order correctly sorted out.

I don't think wearing it closer to the neck is a problem. But maybe it is.
About wearing the right sash, I'm sure that she just went for what she was given, it was the palace's fault!

That's harsh. And I don't see the connection between being able to wear a sash in a way you find acceptable and being able to speak a language.
I've always struggled with languages and put it down to lack of confidence and a bad teacher. This lack of confidence was emphasised by the fact that the 1st place in France I visited was St Maxime - just along from Monaco. And they didn't speak the Parisian French I had been taught. It is the same as learning English and then going to Liverpool or Hull or south London. It's English but as you know it. Regional accents can be difficult and I couldn't understand what they were saying.
Now I'm older and don't much care any more, I spill out the words - more franglais that the real thing but I'm understood - just!

Charlene is wearing the sash at the right angle. it is your meaning that she is not wearing her order correctly. Some people here does not like Charlene and will always critize her and they always find something to critize.
I am french and the orders of Grimaldi are the same of the french orders. The only bad thing is to wear the order on the left shoulder.
The sash of Carioline is also close to her neck like Charlene.

Yeah well I do actually like her so I'm not criticizing because I don't. Royal ladies from every country I can think of wear their sashes further along the shoulder as we all know by looking at the many pictures we have seen over the years. It may seem like a small thing but I can't help noticing that some basic things like this and turning up at the Swedish wedding in no regalia at all seem to indicate that she dosn't seem to know what to do on certain occasions, even after all this time.

It is equally correct that some people here love Charlene and can not accept even the slightest criticism of her and attack or make little of anyone who makes a comment, no matter how innocent, as 'hating' her. Last year the same critics were aimed when someone dared mention Charlene had worn the wrong sash, the male version. The poster was correct as proved this year.
No matter what your nationality or mine is, there is a correct way to wear each sash. Royal women wear a pin or broach (some have made it into a tradition to wear a certain pin or button either on the front of the shoulder, visible or on the back of he shoulder to avoid spoiling the look of their dress). It is meant to keep the sash to the SHOULDER as Caroline has done. Charlene is, as you noted, wearing hers to the neck. That is simply not correct.
This has nothing to do with her lacking of French language skills. It is the fault of either the Palace staff or valet charged with assisting in the sash placement and protocol for dress. Either they are not properly trained, not Charlene's fault, or she refused their advice. In this case it might simply be that there has been no Princess for so long that there is no one properly trained anymore. Two years in, this is unacceptable.

Two reasons are possible for her mistake. Either she had wrong advice (even if her valet is îgnorant Caroline and Albert know,..), or SHE decided

If it was a mistake then she would have been told. It isn't about whether people like Charlene or not, it's that some people take all of this far more seriously than the Royals.

This is a royal website. We do discuss these things. "Mistakes" like this are discussed regarding all royals on this site, Charlene has no special immunity. The repeated dismissal of posters and comments who make any comment seen as less than glowing, no matter how constructive, as "not liking" her or "taking it too seriously" are not adding to the discussion and are unfair.
It is absolutely not about liking a royal, it is about the established protocol which has kept these royals different and fascinating. Mistake on her part or the palace, there should be no hurt feelings for simply discussing it! Many here do take royalty seriously. It is a royal website. There should be a place for both and all view points!

That's a necklace she's been wearing since she was a teenager, she must really love it.

I see Charlene didn't wear the male version of the Order of Saint-Charles this time.

Let's not get back into the Swedish wedding fiasco. Trust and believe--whenever there is any type of royal event, there are clear guidelines sent in regard to dress code. HSH Princess Charlene didn't wear any regalia because it was neither required nor looked upon as disrespectful. She looked beautiful and did something different--which Princess Grace did often.

If I'm not mistaken this was her 18th birthday present from her parents.
