In the above video of Princes Hisahito 2006 - 2011 from 8:37 is the voice of Emperor Akihito.

"He loves insects, and in the autumn, he came to the Biological Laboratory of the Imperial Household and also the gardens of our Residence, and caught grasshoppers and mantes. He is also interested in fruits and enjoyed observing how the grapes were growing in the Biological Laboratory of the Imperial Household and picking persimmons, and so on. On Prince Akishino's birthday, when the Empress showed Hisahito a fragrant karin (Chinese quince) fruit that She had picked in the garden that day, Hisahito went around carrying that heavy fruit very dearly wherever he went; it was a most endearing sight.''

Interesting works associated by Prince Akishino

I just heard about this article that Prince Akisino wrote in the official web site of Zoo and Aquarium. It's Japanese but has a good picture of Prince Akisino. And it is a last summer.

On the bottom of black frame on the 4th one, click it again.
Then use magnifying glass with + sign to make a picture big.
There you can see Princes Akisino with a horse.
Message from Nichidousui. Nichidousui stands for abbreviation of "Japan Zoo Aquarium" and Princes Akisino is the president of this association.

He wrote the message for the launch of this magazine.
"Since I was child I always had interest for animals..."

It's really neat to see his care towards animals. He has given so many talks related to care of animals as well as Scholar.

Princess Kiko's younger brother helps people at SOUMA, Fukushima

On the day when the earthquake struck Japan, Mr. Kawashima who is a younger and only brother of Princess Kiko, was on the way back to home to meet his wife in Souma, Fukushima prefecture by the ocean. He was one station away from Souma when the earthquake struck and he did make it. He is a veterinarian and teaches at Tokyo University of Agriculture.

Now he decided to help his town people in Souma city. He was sending messages through the Facebook and explaining the situation of the town. Nothing was delivered, no water, no food, medications from government yet. So he and his friend in Tokyo got together and got much stuff as he can to put in the 2 ton truck and the camping car and made delivery on 15th, and again on 20th to help people in need.

He was able to contact his sister Princess Kiko to tell her that he is alive and OK.:flowers:

Now the news about Mr. Kawashima's efforts are written in many different news papers and online sites.

I have watched the high school graduate young boy taking the situation in his hand and asking the people to make meals together for entire evacuation site on online stream.

This kind of leadership and actions they take to make a better place for the people in need is encourage to others.

Thanks for the information!
It is great that Mr. Kawashima is trying his best to help people in need. On a different note ... could he contact Princess Kiko directly or through the IHA?

Princess Kiko, Princess Mako and Princess Kako Helping

Starting on 26th, the Nasu Imperial Villa located Tochigi Prefecture, the staff section of this place is open for people who are effected by this earthquake to take hot spring bath which any of us who are Japanese just love to do. Relax body at the same time mind.

For that purpose Princess Kiko, Princess Mako and Princess Kako helped the stuff to pack the individual clean towel in a bag to deliver to those people who are going to take a bath.

I believe this building for stuff worker (Nasu Imperial Villa) was used by Prince Akishinomiya's family last year when Crown Prince family was using the main part of villa with their friends last summer.

What a wonderful offer to people who left their town of disaster area to Tochigi evacuation site and now they can relax a moment in the hot spring bath as used by Prince Akishinomiya family. :flowers:

Plan visit to the shelter near Tokyo

According to the Imperial Household Agency, this coming week Prince and Princess Akishino will visit a shelter near Tokyo. I am wishing Princess Mako and Kako will join them. Sometime they accompany their parents.

Prince and Princess Akishino, Princess Mako, Princess Kako together had lectures by specialist regarding the situation of this earthquake disaster as well as the Emperor and Empress. I did not see this on CP Naruhito's schedule.

I attached their Schedule of 1st quarter of this year.

I think Kiko is an incredibly selfless person, and i hope she will be Empress someday! She is ideally suited for it, imo.

Mirabel,
The Princess Kiko will never be the Empress, according to Japanese constitution. When the Crown Princely couple become the Imperial couple, a special traditional 'adoption ceremony' is to be held for Prince Hisahito and he will legally become a heir of his uncle.
The Japanese law recognizes the adopted children as legitimate heirs of the families which adopt them.
The next Emperor is Crown prince Naruhito, and Prince Hisahito after him. No throne for the Akishinos.
Sad or not, dura lex sed lex.
