Princess Astrid on Economic Missions: 2013 -

Princess Astrid has started her first economic mission representing her brother King Philippe today, October 20.

She'll be in Angola and South Africa till October 26, 2013.

The mission is organized by the Agency for Foreign Trade in collaboration with the regional foreign trade (Awex, Flanders Investment & Trade, and Brussels Invest & Export).

On the second day of her journey Princess Astrid today, October 21, visited the Lucrecia Paim Hospital for the GSK Vaccine's Event and the Mausoleu de Agostinho Neto in Luanda, Angola, And she met with Angolan Vice President Manuel Domingos Vicente.

Prior to Princess Astrid's second economic mission at the end of this month (to India from November 23rd - November 29th), a reception by the Belgian Agency for Foreign Trade was held in Brussels yesterday, November 6, 2013.

Princess Astrid and King Philippe attended the event.

Princess Astrid is on an economic mission to Saudi Arabia and Oman from March 15th to March 21st.



Yesterday, March 15, Astrid and Vice-Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, attended a welcome ceremony and an information session for the Belgian delegation.

On day 2, March 16, Princess Astrid attended the opening session of 'Saudi Arabia at a glance' at the Council of Saudi Chambers, she was present at a signing ceremony by GSK Vaccines, GSAL & Arabio and she participated in the official opening of the AGFA Healthcare Saudi Arabia Office.

On day 3 of the mission, March 17, Princess Astrid inaugurated the Katoen Natie Khonaini in Jubail Industrial City II and attended a meeting with Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Ladies of the Econmic Mission complained that they did not have the same place, could not do the same business as the gentlemen !
