They both look great and both would benefit from letting their hair be like this in some less formal royal engagements. :-)

Victoria's hair is so thick and long I don't see her wasting time with her hair, using products and flat irons, etc. on a regular basis. Just looking at her hair and comparing her birthday look with its almost 1940's look with style and gloss, it illustrates the gulf between her private fun time and official gala type styles.
For all that she's a Crown Princess she is also a full time wife, mother who works an erratic schedule with two or even three vastly different engagements on any given day. Her signature bun works for most and as during the Covid-19 virtual engagements we saw some much softer and fuller updos as she didn't have to worry about it lasting all day in all weathers.
But I have to admit I love those little surprises she gives us when she has had a professional style it.

It is my impression that certain segments of the Swedish press harbor some animosity towards Daniel. - Most unfair, I think. He is doing a very good job. And IMO it's based in snobbery and a tall poppy syndrome.
In fact I believe part of the press are guilty in doing a Prince Henrik on Daniel.
He is treated with considerably more respect and acknowledged a lot more in Norway and Denmark.
Anyway, here is a photo to illustrate what I mean. But if you look apart from what I just wrote, it is actually a funny picture.

Daniel inaugurated Stefans Stuga in Lindvallen, Sälen on 25th March 2011 at their visit to Dalarna. Stefans Stuga is specially designed house where families affected by cancer can relax, socialize, and enjoy being together.

"About a year ago I went for a walk in a forest park in Stockholm, in front of me a couple approached and greeted me.
This couple was none other than the Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel.

Svensk Damtidning called this man to speak about his meeting with Victoria and Daniel.
They were out walking in Haga park, just the two of them. The children were not present, and even dog Rio had been allowed to stay at home. This was simply a bit of a rare time, far from their official sphere. But Victoria and Daniel are always genuinely curious about those they meet and when they bumped into the nice Joni Sanderovitch, they cheered happily and stopped.
- They greeted and so we started talking, Joni says when we reach him on the phone.
Joni, who was born in Jerusalem but now lives in Stockholm and works as a tour guide and event coordinator, says that he did not recognize them at first.
- But then I understood that it was Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. They had their bodyguards with them, but otherwise it was just the two of them. They asked where I came from and what I do in Stockholm. They were really super nice!
