Generation Pep and Stadium deliver activity bags for first-graders

4,000 activity bags for the country's first-graders
Several studies report that children today are moving too little. To inspire more people to a life of movement and to teach good habits at an early age, Stadium has since 2005 distributed activity bags for free to schools around the country. This year, just like last year, the bags are distributed in collaboration with Generation Pep.
The purpose of the activity bag is to inspire more activity in the school in addition to the scheduled sports hours. Many children engage in various sports activities in their spare time, but not all. By establishing good habits early in life, Stadium wants to offer a first step to an active and healthy lifestyle. The project is part of Stadium's Good Citizen work and since its inception in 2005, over 25,000 activity bags have been distributed. This year, just like last year, the bags are distributed in collaboration with Generation Pep.
- Getting the opportunity to hand out activity bags to schools around Sweden together with Stadium feels incredibly fun and important. I myself have had the opportunity to visit some schools in the early autumn and the joy and activity that is immediately apparent among the children when they get to use the things in the bag is really nice to see. We hope all schools that have a first class seize the opportunity and order an activity bag, says Carolina Klüft, Head of Operations for Generation Pep.
The contents of the bags have changed from year to year after feedback from the students and the ambition is that the content should always offer something for everyone. In 2019, the bags are colored with water-saving technology Solution Dye, two FairTrade-labeled footballs, two basketballs, one softball, one ball pump, three tennis balls, four cones and two jump ropes. The total value per bag is about SEK 900.

The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation introduces a Youth Council
In the work of assessing and prioritizing between projects that the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation is to support, the Foundation has appointed a Youth Council, which in 2019 consists of pupils in grade 9 from the Skarpatorpskolan school in Skarpnäck.
The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation has an Expert Council to ensure that the projects supported by the Foundation effectively promote good health and strengthen the community among children and young people in Sweden.
The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation is now also introducing a Youth Council with the aim of including young people and involving them in the evaluation process. This year, the Youth Council consists of pupils in grade 9 from the SSkarpatorpskolan school in Skarpnäck. The members of the Youth Council are replaced annually.
The Youth Council, together with the Foundation, will discuss the received project applications, and then tell the Expert Council with their perspectives on what projects they see can make a positive difference for children and young people.

Great initiative. They could probably get some advice on how best to elicit children's advice from princess Laurentien.

Pep Forum 2019 at Aula Medica at Karolinska Institutet on 22nd November.

Pep Forum is organized once a year with the aim of informing, inspiring and bringing together people we believe can promote the opportunities for children and young people to live a healthy and healthy life.
Sweden's four-year-olds sit still for almost half of their waking time and only one of eight 13-year-olds moves enough. The alarm reports about our children's ill health are interrupting each other and it is high time to do more than just acknowledge that it is negligent. In order to reverse the downward trend, we need to gather and unite forces from all of society. We are convinced that it is possible to make a difference together.
That is why we organize Pep Forum once a year with the aim of informing, inspiring and bringing together people we believe can help us improve the opportunities for children and young people to live a healthy and healthy life.

Pep Forum 2019 - Leadership for all children's health
This year's Pep Forum offers inspiring examples from different environments around children and young people who are influenced by different community actors, where the common denominator is that they have all shown great leadership in one of the great societal challenges of our time. Among other things, you can take part in the success factors behind the Amsterdam Healthy Weight Program, The Ombudsman for Children's thoughts that the Children's Convention becomes law 2020 and hear Synsam's CEO Håkan Lundstedt tell us more about the collaboration Generation Pep has with the company. In addition to this, you get to take part in interviews and panel discussions with several exciting individuals and organizations about how and why they put on the leader's shirt for children and young people's health. The morning concludes with an engaging lecture on leadership by Glada Hudik theater's founder Pär Johansson.
Pep Forum 2019 will be moderated by Carolina Klüft and Dona Hariri.

New for this year
Pep Forum is growing and offers a full day of inspiration!
We have listened to participants from previous years and therefore organize Pep Forum 2019 as a full day where the afternoon is dedicated to in-depth Pep Talks, the opportunity for networking and exhibitors with concrete contributions on how they helped to work towards Generation Pep's vision: that all children and young people should have the opportunity and the will to live an active and healthy life.
Pep Forum - School
For those of you working in the education system, we will offer an afternoon full of inspiration and concrete examples of how schools have worked to include physical activity and healthy meals in their activities. The afternoon will be initiated by the Director-General of Swedish National Agency for Education Peter Fredriksson.

Today, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel met with participants in the Expert Council and the Youth Council for the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Foundation supports organizations that work to promote good health and prevent exclusion in children and adolescents. To help, the foundation has an Expert Council that acts as advisers, assesses and prioritizes between applications for grants that come in.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
New for this year is that the Foundation has engaged five ninth graders from the Skarpatorps school in Skarpnäck to a Youth Council. They have discussed and assessed the applications submitted to the Foundation and, during a meeting with the Crown Princess, Prince Daniel and the Expert ouncil, gave their views on the advantages and disadvantages of applications.

Lasse Åberg is doing a project together with Generation Pep
One of Lasse Åberg's best known characters, Stig-Helmer Olsson, will soon make a comeback. Together with Generation Pep, Lasse Åberg has brought life to Stig-Helmer to put an important question on the agenda.
For almost three years, Generation Pep has been working to lift children and young people's physical health high on the agenda. In its new campaign, Generation Pep has now taken advantage of the Swedes' favorite character; Stig-Helmer Olsson.
- For us, it is incredibly fun to do this project with Lasse Åberg. Lasse is a role model and I think many of us have a relationship with one of his characters, perhaps not least the popular Stig-Helmer. Being able to use the strong and well-known character to raise our questions is truly an honor, says Carolina Klüft, Managing Director at Generation Pep.
The project has culminated in a movie in one minute. The film will be shown on social media and Generation Pep's website, but also go as a commercial in some TV channels. The film is part of Generation Pep's latest venture where the purpose is to raise the public's interest in children and young people's physical health.
- It feels great to be able to use Stig-Helmer to highlight one of the greatest challenges of our time, children and young people's health. We know that children move too little but also eat too little of what is good for them. Getting involved and trying to reverse that trend feels both important and fun, says Lasse Åberg.
The movie will be released on 29th October on Generation Pep's website and social media channels. The film is made with the support of the Åberg Museum.
Lasse Åberg gör projekt tillsammans med Generation Pep - Generation Pep

Stig-Helmer Olsson and Generation Pep want to motivate children and young people to more movement!
In the movie "The unintentional jogger" we meet Stig-Helmer Olsson who, thanks to his non-digital life, quickly comes up with the recommended daily amount of exercise. Something that few children today do. The sedentary behavior of children and young people continues to increase and this can have fatal consequences if we do not start acting. Generation Pep together with Lasse Åberg wants to get more people to reduce their sedentary - all movement counts!
Today, October 29, is the day of the Internet. The Internet has provided a number of opportunities for humanity to move forward, but the increased digitization in society also has its backs. The sedentary screen time is spreading in both adults and children, and often this also means that we may be moving less. Through the initiative "The unintentional jogger", Generation Pep wants to call for reflection on how you spend your hours during the day.
- The screen time itself is not the culprit, but it is how children and young people spend their total time during the day and what that time is spent on that is interesting. We have seen that the time that children and young people spend on being in motion has diminished for several years, as the sedentary screen time increases. We must begin to understand that when our children spend more time sitting still in front of the screen, it will automatically be that they have less time to be physically active - the day only has 24 hours. We are not in any way hostile to technology, we are very diligent screen users, and there are many positive things where screen users actually encourage movement or free up time so that you have time for activities. Unfortunately, for many children and young people, however, the sedentary screen time is increasing and we want to pay attention to this development, says Carolina Klüft, Managing Director at Generation Pep.

Stig-Helmer and Generation Pep want to motivate children and young people to more movement!
Use the day to reduce your sedentary screen time; dance to your favorite tune, go out and walk, run Pokémon Go or play basketball in the yard. Whatever you do doesn't matter, all movement counts!
Join in and spread the message by sharing the movie in your social media channels - and afterwards you can take the opportunity to make some headlines or windmill.

Behind Stig-Helmer stands Lasse Åberg, one of Sweden's most popular directors and actors. The last film he participated in was The Stig-Helmer story, which went to the cinema in 2011. But now, eight years later, Lasse Åberg is making a comeback as Stig-Helmer in a new commercial. Behind the initiative is Prince Daniel's and Crown Princess Victoria's organization Generation Pep and the aim is to get children and young people moving.

- Being able to use Stig-Helmer to highlight a great challenge for our society feels both important and fun. Stig-Helmer has, as a character, always been different and a little late on new technology, now it turns out that it may be his greatest health benefit ever, says Lasse Åberg.

Generation Pep's Managing Director Carolina Klüft wrote on 29th October a debate article to Aftonbladet - on Internet's day, and the same day when Generation Pep published its video with Lasse Åberg.
Carolina writes among other things:

Adults, we have to seize our children's screen time
Carolina Klüft: Great health risks as young people become increasingly sedentary
Today, October 29, is the day of the Internet. The Internet has provided a number of opportunities for humanity to move forward, but the increased digitization in society also has its backs. We must lift these backs without being criticized for being hostile to technology. For just like any change in society, digitalization has its advantages and disadvantages as well.
A survey from the University of Gothenburg a few years ago showed that 14-year-old boys did 30 percent fewer steps in 2017 compared to 14-year-olds in 2000. In the girls, the number of steps had decreased by 24 percent.
The Public Health Agency's latest survey, published at the beginning of the year, showed that only 14 percent of Swedish school students walk, cycle, play, skate, play football, dance or otherwise move their heart rate every day.
Of course, the screen is not always the villain, but we cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that more and more children are spending more time sitting in front of a screen and that movement and physical activity are often suffering. This, in turn, causes great health risks for our children and young people.
It is therefore of the utmost importance that we adults now act to become the role models our children need and deserve.
As adults, we are important role models for children and young people, which means that we also need to think about our own sedentary screen time.
As adults, it is now time for us to act and do what we can to get our children and ourselves moving. We need to understand that when our children spend more time sitting still in front of the screen, it will automatically be that they have less time to be physically active - the day only has 24 hours.

Pep Forum on 22nd November
Carolina Klüft is one of Sweden's foremost athletes of all times and in recent years has held several assignments as a program leader and lecturer in addition to working with Generation Pep, where she is currently the Managing Director. She has a great community commitment and is the strong force and voice that society needs to get individuals and organizations to act and get involved so that all children and young people have the opportunity to live an active and healthy life.
This year, Carolina will lead the Pep Forum with Dona Hariri.

Dona Hariri is a lawyer who uses law as a tool to contribute to a more equal society. As a writer, lecturer and moderator, she hopes to help all people know their rights and obligations. Because then you know what applies, what you can demand but also what you can expect from society - whether it is the right to health and leisure or the right to security and education.
This year, Dona was named one of Sweden's 100 role models to contribute to a positive change in Fryshuset, and on November 22, she and Carolina Klüft will lead the Pep Forum in 2019.

All children in Sweden must then have the same rights, which include the right to be protected from violence but also the right to participation. But what will this mean for different businesses and how can your organization prepare you to be at the forefront once the law comes into force? This is something the Ombudsman for Children in Sweden, Elisabeth Dahlin will answer during her part at this year's Pep Forum.

Generation Pep at its Instagram about the network meeting on Monday
On Monday we held our second network meeting to our fantastic Peppare this year. 150 driving spirits gathered for a common issue - to give our children and young people the opportunity, and thus create the conditions for finding the will, to live an active and healthy life.
Today we have 345 Peppare in our network who all want to make a change for the better for children and young people in Sweden. Our Peppare are actors from different sectors of society, from different places, with different conditions to create impact - and it is with their unique positions that they together create new conditions to reverse the trend we see today.
A big thank you for a fantastic afternoon to all who attended yesterday. And a big cheer to all our Peppare around Sweden. Together we can make a difference!

Victoria and Daniel visited today Fryshuset in Malmö.

Photos at court Instagram
Today, the Crown Princess couple spent the day in Malmö to visit Fryshuset's dropout operations at Möllevången.
At Möllevången, @fryshuset conducts, among other things, preventive and remedial activities against gang crime. Operations are conducted throughout Skåne.
During the visit, the Crown Princess couple got to meet a former criminal man who participates in Fryshuset's operation, Passus. During the meeting, the man, who lives under a protected identity, was given the opportunity to tell about his life. He was also able to tell the Crown Princess couple about how his client coach from Fryshuset helped him leave the criminal world to build a new life with his family.
In connection with a subsequent lunch together with representatives of Fryshuset's other activities, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel could tell that The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation, together with a number of other foundations and private financiers, decided to support Fryshuset's operations in Malmö with an additional financial grant.

The Crown Princess couple pay attention to the events in Malmö
On Monday, November 18, the Crown Princess Couple visited Malmö to distribute an additional grant from The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation to the Fryshuset for efforts aimed at young people in Malmö.
Through the visit to Fryshuset in Malmö, the Crown Princess couple wants to show their appreciation to actors like Fryshuset who work to solve and prevent problems.
The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation, together with Queen Silvia's Foundation - Care About the Children, Crown Princess Victoria's Foundation for Scientific Research and Education, The Marcus and the Amalia Wallenberg Memorial Fund, Sten A Olssons Foundation for Research and Culture, The Erling-Persson Family Foundation and the Stiftelsen Frimurare Barnhuset Foundation in Stockholm, and a number of private individuals, among others Cristina Stenbeck with family, Dan Olofsson and Martin Sandberg, decided to support Fryshuset's operations in Malmö.
Together, resources are being added so that Fryshuset can expand its prevention activities for young people who are on the road or in criminal environments in Malmö. Fryshuset offers a positive context that gives young people a positive future faith.
Fryshuset conducts preventative and remedial activities by offering alternatives and a way out. Disengagement is not only important for the individual who jumps off, it also has a strong symbolic value for everyone in the individual's vicinity. It confirms that change is possible.
Fryshuset's hope is to be able to motivate young people to change and to move on to Fryshuset's operations and to other community actors.
"With this grant, the Fryshuset in Malmö will quickly reach many more young people in destructive environments. We already have relationships with these young people, and now we can also give them concrete guidance from the lack of hope to a life of opportunity", says Fryshuset's CEO Johan Oljeqvist.
The Foundation hopes that the grant will help young people feel more secure, have a more meaningful leisure time and a more positive view of their own future.

At the lunch Victoria and Daniel met also representatives of Yalla Trappan
The Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, Yalla Trappan and Fryshuset!
Today we have had the benefit of having lunch with Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel -Duchess and Duke of Västergötland. Fryshuset in Malmö invited us with a handful of other non-profit organizations. @Fryshuset is aimed at young people with a focus on those living in exclusion - this means that young people through their passion may be able to change the world! The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation visited Malmö today for the good forces that are here! With pumpkin soup and homemade ice cream by Fryshuset, we got to present Yalla Trappan to the Crown Princess couple and hand over our book as well as a quince marmalade which we cooked last Friday. You know that the Crown Princess couple's youngest son Oscar is Duke of Skåne !!
Our Fatme Ibrahim handed over our book - "Yalla Trappan, So We Did" and they hugged. Talked. Laughed. - The princess is just like us, Fatme exclaims when she is back at Herrgården. Yes - just like we here at Yalla Trappan! And she's been to Lebanon. Last year, Prince Daniel said. - I'm from there. They have been there! What if they were in my village?
I greeted them from all of us at Yalla Trappan - we are family - just as they are! And the Crown Princess would like to visit us one day! She was EXACTLY like us! A friend. A fellow human being. - Victoria is my friend! Thank you FrysHuset Malmö for a fantastic day!

About the visit to the Malmö Police yesterday
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel visited the Malmö Police on Monday.
Among other things, they met the patrol, which was first in place when a 15-year-old boy was murdered at a pizzeria on Ystadsgatan just over two weeks ago.
- That meeting went from a general question right down to the depth, when they realized that they were actually there and met by this view, says Ewa-Gun Westford, press spokesman for the Malmö Police, about the visit.
The Crown Princess couple visited Malmö on Tuesday, which was not announced in advance. Media was also not invited. During the morning they were at Fryshuset, which among other things works with young criminals.
In the afternoon, Victoria and Daniel visited the police station on the Värnhem Square.
- They met with intervention police, focus police, and national bomb protection. They were given lectures, but also asked questions themselves. It was noticed that they were interested and engaged, wanted to know more, says Ewa-Gun Westford, who attended the meeting.
The Crown Princess couple also got to see how different explosive charges can look, for example in thermos or tin cans.
- We told we have to act on everything. We also showed a movie on how an explosive charge is accommodated in a car, says Ewa-Gun Westford, who highlights the ability of prominent guests to show appreciation.
- The Crown Princess stepped into a couple of rooms that she passed on the way, and greeted those who were there. They gave a positive feeling from the beginning.

The Crown Princess couple visited Malmö Police: "Appreciated"
The Crown Princess couple made an unexpected visit to the Malmö Police on Monday.
- It was an appreciated visit, says Andy Roberts, head of the local police area north of Malmö.
- It was nice that the Crown Princess couple took the time to come and see how we got this down in Malmö, says Andy Roberts, head of the local police area north of Malmö.
In addition to local intervention police, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel were also informed about the police work within the National Bomb Protection.
- We had to describe our everyday lives and how we struggle to create security, says Andy Roberts.
- It was pleasant to meet, especially since the staff at national events and operation Rimfrost got a chance to talk about the recent events developments from a police perspective.
Did it feel rewarding to receive royals to the visit?
- Yes of course. The Crown Princess couple is very community oriented and wants to follow the social development. Given the national focus that the recent events in Malmö have had, they wanted to hear how we feel and in what way we work and the conditions we have here.
- It sends positive signals to employees, who work and struggle in the situations that have arisen. It was really appreciated that the Crown Princess couple took the time to make this visit.

Victoria and Daniel attend today Generation Pep's Pep Forum.

Pep Forum 2019 brings together business leaders, organizations and schools
For the third year in a row, Pep Forum will be held in Aula Medica at the Karolinska Institute.
In the presence of the Crown Princess couple, decision-makers from the business community as well as the non-profit and public sector are given access to the latest findings in the area and also good examples from different sectors in different parts of the country.
- Today, most children and young people in Sweden move too little and eat too poorly. In addition, there are major differences between children's and young people's health depending on where they grow up. Generation Pep works to ensure that all children and young people have the same opportunity to live an active and healthy life. To our aid we have a number of organizations and companies that all want to be involved and make a difference. We hope that Pep Forum can be an inspiration to more people to put on the leadership role on this issue, says HRH Prince Daniel.
The day is moderated by Carolina Klüft and Dona Hariri and among this year's speakers are Synsam's CEO Håkan Lundstedt, Children's Ombudsman Elisabeth Dahlin and Glada Hudik Theater's founder Pär Johansson. This year an international guest is also participating, namely the Amsterdam Healthy Weight Program, which will tell you about the success factors behind the program. Another number of organizations and individuals will also participate and explain why they want to have the leadership role for children and young people's health.
New for this year is that the event, which used to be half a day, will now last for a whole day.
- This year we have the pleasure of having a whole afternoon around the area a healthy school. The school is the place where we can reach all children and young people and it is therefore extremely important that they work with physical activity and healthy eating habits. Generation Pep works actively to support schools in various ways on these issues. One way is through our initiative Pep School, which is a digital method support for schools that want to work with physical activity and healthy food. We hope that this afternoon will be an inspiration to more schools to join and take the leadership role for their students' health, says Carolina Klüft, Managing Director at Generation Pep.
In the afternoon, a number of schools will share inspiration on how they work with physical activity and healthy eating habits. The Swedish National Agency for Education's Director Peter Fredriksson also tells more about the Agency's role and the government's assignment.
Pep Forum takes place between 9.30-16.00 in Aula Medica at Karolinska Institutet.

Victoria said at her speech among other things:
I don't think any of you in here lack knowledge of the health situation among Sweden's children and young people. You've heard the numbers and seen the charts. You know that children are moving less and less and that health is becoming more unequal.
I also don't think any of us in here are happy with what it looks like today. I know I'm not, and neither is Prince Daniel. I think you feel the same anxiety and frustration as we do - and the same conviction that it is possible to turn things right. At least if we dare to think new.
That's why, just over three years ago, we took the initiative to Generation Pep. We wanted to create a platform where different parts of society could meet. We wanted to support those who have already put on the jersey for children's and young people's health. And we wanted to inspire more people to do the same.
Therefore, I am pleased to welcome you to this year's Pep Forum, where the theme is leadership for the health of children and young people and where inspiration is the key word.

Earlier this week they also took a quick visit to London on their hand to see the premiere of the musical & Juliet.

When they arrived at the Pep forum today, you couldn't miss how Daniel and Victoria beamed. It is noticeable that they have spent a lot of time together lately and they look really relaxed, side by side.

At this year's Pep Forum, "Leadership for the health of children and young people" is the focus and among other things, the Ombudsman for Children will talk about the children's convention, Synsam's CEO will tell about the collaboration they have with Generation Pep and the founders of the Glada Hudik Theater will give a lecture on leadership.

The Crown Princess Couple at Pep Forum
On Friday, November 22, the Crown Princess couple attended the Pep Forum at Karolinska Institutet. The day was organized by Generation Pep with the aim of creating conversation, engagement and change for the health of children and young people.
Around 900 participants from politics, business, associations, research and practice participated in the Pep Forum, led by moderators Carolina Klüft and Dona Hariri.
The Crown Princess opened Pep Forum with a speech:
"Leading by example", they say in English. I thought about how to translate it - 'to set a good example' is probably what comes closest. At the same time you lose a key concept: 'leading', 'to lead'. Because that's exactly what it's all about: leadership.
Whether you are an individual, a company, a city or a country: The good example is a tremendously powerful tool for change. And to dare to create such examples - that is to show leadership."
Among other things, Pep Forum's participants gained experience from the Amsterdam Healthy Weight Program project, which aims to improve the health of children and adolescents in Amsterdam, where 18% of all under 20 are overweight.
Prince Daniel then took part in a talk on the stage about how the work for the better health of children and young people should be conducted in the future.
Other speakers at Pep Forum 2019
Pär Johansson, founder of Glada Hudik Theatre
Peter Fredriksson, Director General of the National Agency for Education
Pasha Elstak, management advisor for the Amsterdam Healthy Weight Program
Matti Leijon, public health scientist at Östergötland Region
David Ekholm, researcher at Linköping University
Maja Arvidsson, founder of Aktivitet Förebygger
Albert Sundelius, coordinator for Aktivitet Förebygger
The Crown Princess couple ended the day by visiting the exhibition Pep Expo.

We saw at Pep Forum last Friday, that the moderator, Generation Pep's Managing Director Carolina Klüft wasn't pregnant anymore. And today her husband Patrik told to Expressen, that their third child, and third daughter, had been born in October.

Former athletics star Carolina Klüft, 36, and husband Patrik, 42, have become parents again.
Carolina Klüft has appeared in several major television contexts after her athletics career. She has, among other things, been the program manager for Viasat's broadcasts from the Sochi and Rio Olympics, and also for SVT's "Duellen" and "Wild kids". Last winter, Klüft was one of the participants in the "Mästarnas mästare".
The former heptathlon star has also been an expert in SVT's athletics broadcasts on several occasions. But during the Doha Athletics World Cup, Carolina Klüft was missing in the box - the reason; she was pregnant.
And now Carolina Klüft and her husband Patrik Klüft have had their third child.
- It became a girl this time too. So now we have a whole trio, says Patrik Klüft, and tells us that the girl who was born in October has been named Nova.
- Everything has been going well and everyone is fine. We are very happy and enjoy family life.
In addition to Nova, the couple Klüft has daughters Laleh, 5, and Amie, 2.

Generation Pep has now five Pep Ambassadors.
Meet our Pep Ambassadors!
Our ambassadors have a strong commitment to the health of children and young people, and together with Generation Pep they work in different ways to make a difference.

Mårten Nylen, a health inspector, program manager and lecturer, and has been featured in television programs such as Ninja Warrior and Biggest Loser.
Per Kasperi, a para hockey player, has participated in three Paralympics. Most recently, Per appeared in "Årets Vinnarskallar" in TV4.
Jiloan Hamad, a football professional who previously played in Hammarby. Nowadays he plays in the Croatian league.
Sarah Sjöström, an elite swimmer, has won everything from Olympic gold to World Championship gold in several distances.
Jessica Almenäs, a program host, has led the Olympic broadcasts, among other things, and also runs a training pod.

Why you are a Pep Ambassador?

Mårten Nylen
- All children deserve to feel good, but unfortunately, reality does not look so today. However, I believe that together we can change this and create a generation full of conditions, power and joy of movement. That is why I am today a proud ambassador for Generation Pep and I will do everything I can to help our children and young people towards a healthier and happier future.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5UZIUZjZP6/

Per Kasperi
- Many thought I couldn't move and do what most others did. However, my parents believed in me and encouraged me to exercise. Through the training I became stronger both physically and mentally. I want to inspire children and young people to change "I can't" to "I can"!
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5W981bDsdR/

Jiloan Hamad
- I have chosen to get involved in the health of children and young people because I am passionate about this issue. I grew up with parents living in financial poverty. It wasn't always easy but the sport opened doors for me that I didn't know existed. It gave me opportunities instead of difficulties. No matter where you are in life, health is always the most important thing, we must make children and young people feel good and at the same time give everyone the opportunity for equal health.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5Zit1KD7mJ/

Sarah Sjöström
- In a world where children are becoming increasingly sedentary, this is an important initiative. Everyone does not need to exercise to be the best, but everyone needs to move to give themselves the best opportunity for a healthy life.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5cHhQ5D-j7/

Jessica Almenäs
- I am passionate about all children having the opportunity to play sports, no matter where you live and what kind of financial conditions you have. Sports, like children and young people's health, should be equal. I try to inspire joy of movement every day, both in my public channels and as a mother and friend. I intend to continue to do so with Generation Pep. I am proud and happy to be the ambassador for Generation Pep and thus take the lead and take even greater responsibility for children's health, now and in the future.

Daniel attended today at the meeting of the steering group of Generation Pep.
In addition to Victoria and Daniel, the steering group consists of Elin Annwall (managing director of The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation), Eva Carlheim, Cristina Stenbeck, Per Strömberg, Magnus Tyreman and Johan Skarborg.

The Crown Princess couple helps the project in Helsingborg
Fryshuset's investment in outreach operations in Helsingborg is to last for three years. And will cost just over four million donated by various donors - including The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation.
This is not the first time Fryshuset has pressed the start button for outreach activities among young people. Malmö is one of the municipalities where such work is already underway.
And there is a great deal of interest among financiers for this type of project.
A total of 4.1 million has been raised for the three-year outreach in Helsingborg. The donors include the business community, private individuals and various organizations.
The Royal Foundation contributes
Some money comes from The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation, which also participates in financing Fryshuset's operations in Malmö. SVT News Helsingborg has in vain sought the Crown Princess couple for a comment.

Generation Pep published a video of Highlights 2019
We at Generation Pep would like to extend a big THANK YOU for the commitment we have seen from all over Sweden in the year 2019 and all that has come of it. With this film of what we did during the past year, we take the step into 2020.

Daniel attended yesterday at a meeting with the representatives of ICA Foundation.
Prince Daniel was present, as ambassador for Generation PEP, to extend the cooperation between the ICA Foundation and Generation PEP. An organization started by the Crown Princess couple to try to get Swedish children and young people to move a little more and eat a little more healthy.
Generation PEP's goal is that by 2030, at least half of all children and young people in Sweden should move according to the recommendation (60 min/day). By 2030, twice as many teenagers, girls and children whose parents have a low income level should move according to the recommendation and have a balanced diet. The final goal is for twice as many children and young people in Sweden to reach the recommendation for green, fruit and berries by 2030, which means 400 grams for children under 10 years and 500 grams for children over 10 years.
The ICA Foundation's part of the collaboration consists of being involved in and enabling the work that Generation PEP does by channeling the great commitment that exists, into concrete measures.

Today Daniel attended a meeting with Generation Pep.

Generation Pep's work is going very well
"Since the launch of Pep School in 2018, we are absolutely delighted today that over 1000 (!) Schools have joined www.pepskola.se and are working to create active and healthy school days. In 2020, we hope that even more schools will join, and together with us we will work to create equal health for all children and young people in Sweden."
https://www.instagram.com/p/B7LqjECJd-L/

"In early 2019, we had about 150 Peppare in our network. By the end of the year, that figure had more than doubled, and by the New Year, the number of Peppare was a whopping 369! This year we hope that even more businesses will become Peppare and join us in the work for a more equal health among children and young people in Sweden. We believe that everyone can participate and contribute, and welcome all kinds of businesses into our network. Do you want your business to become a Peppare?"

Daniel delivers Generation Pep's "Årets Peppare" Prize at the Sports Gala on Monday 27th January.

They can win "Årets Peppare" Prize at the Sports Gala 2020
Generation Pep, a non-profit organization initiated by the Crown Princess couple, works to disseminate knowledge and create commitment to the health of children and young people. Three years ago, the organization instituted Årets Peppare, this year the prize is awarded in collaboration with the Swedish Sports Confederation. After numerous contributions that have been received during the autumn, five finalists are now ready for Pepper of the Year 2020.
"Årets Peppare" will reward a person, organization or initiative that in an inclusive and accessible way has managed to get children and young people in Sweden moving. To find Årets Peppare, nominations were collected from the Swedish people during the fall of 2019. Subsequently, the jury has appointed five finalists, one of whom will become Årets Peppare 2020 and receive the award in live broadcast on Sweden's television at the Sports Gala on January 27.

The finalists are: Bara Vanlig, Amadou Samake, Fritidsbanken, Friskolan Karlavagnen i Strägnäs and Cityidrott.
- It has been an incredibly fun and difficult job to select the finalists of the year. We received a lot of good nominations and they all represent a person or organization that works every day to improve the health of children and young people. Our five finalists represent a wonderful breadth of actors and dedication. My hope is that the entire community will be inspired by their work, says Carolina Klüft, member of the jury and managing director for Generation Pep.

Bara Vanlig
What started with the fact that Niclas Wennerlund 2016 lacked a running team for his daughter has now grown into a movement that exists in around 20 locations throughout our country. The reason is that everyone has the right to enjoyment, regardless of who you are and whether you run, walk or roll.
With community, participation and joy, Bara Vanlig has made thousands of people discover the joy of moving in with others. Niclas saw the need and, through vigor and fiery commitment, not only met an enormous need, but he also ensured the dissemination of knowledge and held back prejudice through education, lectures and fellowship.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B7S_jdcnXs1/

Amadou Samake
Amadou is passionate about football and getting young people moving, Amadou organizes training camp in Storvreten for young people and runs running, outdoor gym and football training free of charge.
In addition to the training, Amadou also serves as mentor and companion support to several of the young people.
Since 2018, the training camp has been conducted within IFK Tumba's social sports work, Tumba United. The purpose of Tumba United is to contribute to strengthening social cohesion in the local community of Tumba in general and in the Great Tribune in particular.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B7at8qTAXU3/

Fritidsbanken
Fritidsbanken's work is about giving all people the opportunity for physical activity, regardless of who they are, by offering sports and leisure equipment for free lending like a library. Fritidsbanken started in Deje in Värmland and thanks to an idea that was born in 2013, hundreds of thousands of loans are now made in over 100 locations throughout our country.
The work of Fritidsbanken is important for our entire society. The work that Fritidsbanken is doing is ultimately an issue for our democracy as health is becoming increasingly unequal. The material that is lent to the old and the young is recycled and thereby the Fritidsbanken assumes responsibility that extends beyond health and equality.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B7YJI6ehZm0/

Friskolan Karlavagnen in Strängnäs
In 2019, Karlavagnen has increased the subject of sport & health from 80 minutes a week to 120 min / week for grades 1 to 3. The morning grids focus on heart rate-enhancing activities and the lunch grids focus on play and movement for body and bud.
The school has started a Pepteam because physical activity and joy of movement have a positive impact on school work, motor development and the social interaction between young people. Many children and young people do not have the opportunity to move around in their spare time and the school then becomes central to children's health.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B7VkWAZj5o_/

Cityidrott
Cityidrott is a business in Landskrona and now also Svalövs Municipality, which for the past ten years has created neutral meeting places and inspired to the joy of movement for children and young people. The purpose of the business is to offer meaningful leisure activities and create a greater community among children and young people in order to contribute to better health, counteract exclusion and offer a way into society for both children and adults.
Cityidrott is the gateway to active life on many levels as you also organize summer camps, tournaments, fishing trips, theme days, summer schools and excursions.
Lowering thresholds through low costs, collaborations between business, schools and associations, and offering varied business pleasure under organized forms makes Cityidrott an actor who takes children and young people closer to the vision of making health more equal.
