During Victoria and Daniel's visit to Australia and New Zealand, they met national team players Katrina Gorry and Charlotte Grant, as well as national team captain Tony Gustafsson.
- My wife is a good football player, Daniel said during the meeting
Victoria revealed that football is Oscar's favorite hobby.
- I always lose to our son. Oscar basically plays every day, even indoors, she said with a laugh, according to TT.

Estelle got a ferry named after her
The world's first commercial, self-driving and electric passenger ferry has left Norway, it arrives to Stockholm at the weekend.
The ferry is powered entirely by electricity, including with the help of solar energy from solar panels mounted on the roof.
The boat is named after Princess Estelle and the name is a tribute to the royal family's commitment to sustainability issues.
Is there a specific commitment you have in mind?
- We see that the Swedish royal family often raises sustainability issues. For example, Crown Princess Victoria usually wears recycled garments, as a stand for sustainability, and Estelle reused her mother Victoria's birthday dress on her 9th birthday. Prince Alexander inaugurated a viewpoint in a nature reserve as his first official event. In addition, King Carl Gustaf often addresses sustainability issues in his speeches and he has long sat on WWF's board, something he has now handed over to Victoria.

Last week, Prince Oscar had the opportunity to learn more about the varied animal life in one of Stockholm's urban parks.
On International Biodiversity Day, the Crown Princess and Prince Oscar took part in a "mini-excursion" at the Isbladskärret at Royal Djurgården, organized by WWF.
Isbladskärret has in recent decades regained its rich animal and plant life after a restoration by The Royal Djurgården administration. The marsh is today one of Stockholm's foremost birding areas, with, among other things, a large heron colony.

Finnish IltaSanomat writes about Estelle, and her relationship with her mother.

According to many, Estelle has slowly grown into a conscientious and composed princess like her mother. She is well behaved, polite and smiles when she represents, just like her mother. Royal expert Herman Lindqvist has said that when Estelle represents at public events, she knows she is a representative of the royal house. But she seems to like it, like her mother.
Victoria has been preparing her daughter for a long time for the role of queen.
Despite the great responsibility of the future, Victoria and Daniel have tried to raise their children so that they can live a normal everyday life away from the spotlight. Victoria has said that it's important to her that their children are allowed to be children and Daniel thinks it is important to let children be in different environments. They have to know how the metro works, what it's like to ride a bus and queue, and what it's like to feel the passion of a sporting event. Victoria has said that Estelle is a bit of a competitive person. She probably inherited it from her mother and father. And that Estelle is very brave and social, and those are assets in life and especially in her role. She is very curious about people.

Queen Silvia got today at a county visit to Stockholm some beautiful self-made midsummer wreaths from people. The Queen happily thanked for the nice gifts and revealed that she already knows what to do with the wreaths.
- I'm going to take these home to Estelle, she said when she received the beautiful wreaths.

Tomorrow is the start of the new school year.
Estelle starts at fifth grade at Campus Manilla and for Oscar it's the start for a "real" school, first grade at Campus Manilla.

We got a new photo of Estelle and Oscar, when the Crown Princess family sent their warmest congratulations to Swedish Women's National team after yesterday's bronze at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.

These days, many students return to school after the summer holidays. Today Princess Estelle starts grade 5. Prince Oscar starts 1st grade.

I think Estelle could grow to be 6'1. She's also a blonde version of Victoria, just like Oscar is Daniel's clone!
 
Svensk Damtidning writes that it is known for a long time that Oscar is a football guy. He comes from a family interested in sports, and to his father's great joy, he is hooked on football.
Oscar plays football at club level together with other boys born in 2016. His coach is a man in his 40s, who has a close connection to Sweden's greatest footballer of all time, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Oscar is thus guided by Swedish football elite! The coach has connections to Zlatan's national team career and belongs to a family where several of the members have a close relationship with the megastar. Oscar is registered with the team and is part of their official match squad.
Oscar's club is based in the Stockholm area. It is a club with trained coaches and a strong academy operation. If Oscar would like to invest in football, then the resources and knowledge are there to take him all the way to the elite level.

Daniel told Carina Bergfeldt at the basketball match, that Victoria couldn't be there because she was at Oscar's football match.

The government has decided to give the National Property Board a budget of SEK 137 million for a facade and roof renovation.
Already in December 2021, the government approved a renovation but for a maximum of SEK 100 million.
Now the price tag has risen. (..)

According to the article, Campus Manilla is a private, non-profit foundation, but the building where the school is located belongs to the State. How does that work? Does the school pay rent on the premises? Does the rent fall under the royal right of disposal so that the Royal Court is responsible for the allocation of tenants? If so, would that create a conflit of interest when members of the Royal Family apply to enroll in the school?

My understanding is that the buildings are owned by the State and managed/ maintained by the State Property Agency, but they King retains “the right of disposal” , which is administered by the Royal Court. The right of disposal extends to the royal palaces and the Royal Djugarden ( where Campus Manilla seems to be located) and includes the prerogative to decide on the allocation of tenants .

That is why I asked the question.

Christer Lindarw tells Svensk Damtidning about designing Estelle's gown to Christian's 18th birthday dinner.
Lindarw had made a couple of options, then Estelle chose which one she thought was the best. He has a special working method. He makes a sketch in the end, but his biggest design work is actually what happens in his head for a few weeks before. He looks at fabrics in shops, feels for them, draws, sketches and thinks. When he draws a sketch, almost everything is clear in his head, then he doesn't change much.
Lindarw (70) trained as a designer before becoming an artist and has also designed for artists over the years, but has never had an own collection.

The container cranes named after Estelle and Oscar at the Stockholm Norvik Port.
- The 120 meter high and stately container cranes were given the royal names Estelle and Oscar, says Magdalena Bosson, CEO of the Port of Stockholm.
It is a tradition to name harbor cranes, and Stockholm Norvik's container cranes are thus also gilded with a royal shine.

The King and Victoria inaugurated the Norvik Port on 26th April this year.
 
Anders Pihlblad, the host of TV4's "Kungahuset", annual documentary of the royal family, has followed the royal family and been involved in both trips and various assignments.
He tells to Svensk Damtidning how impressed he has been by Estelle over the past year. He says also that he sees several similarities between Victoria and Estelle:
- I think the Crown Princess family has been very generous with their time and in this program you get to see a lot of Princess Estelle for the first time. She is given a task in the program which she does with gusto. Estelle and Victoria are both future queens. After all, their whole life is somehow about them being schooled into a role. It's not that easy, but the crown princess has managed it with flying colours.

Queen Silvia says at "Kungahuset", that Estelle is a very exciting little lady. She is curious, she is sweet and nice, big heart, warmth. But also wise. So it's a wonderful mix.
