At the first photo Daniel with Karin Olofsdotter, Ambassador of Sweden to the United States and Eric Nelson, Executive director/CEO of the National Nordic Museum in Seattle.
In the presence of Washington's Governor Jay Inslee, Seattle's city council and invited guests, Daniel, on behalf of the King, awarded the Order of the Polar Star to Eric Nelson for many years and deserving efforts to create a new museum building for the National Nordic Museum.

The Prince Daniel's Fellowship tells at its website about last week's entrepreneurial trip to USA.
At a reception at home of Barbro Osher, Sweden's consul general in San Francisco, the delegation listened to Sir Michael Moritz (Sequoia Capital).
Gustaf Ahlströmer (AirBnB, Y-combinator), Stina Ehrensvärd (Yubico) and Jimmy Abrahamsson (Grepit) are Swedes who established themselves in Silicon Valley. They shared their experiences during breakfast meetings. The delegation met also Eric Vishria and Miles Grimshaw from Benchmark Capital Partners.
During the trip, the delegation met successful American entrepreneurs, NVIDIA's founder and CEO Jensen Huang, Salesforce's co-founder and CEO Parker Harris and Sila Nanotechnologies' co-founder and CEO Gene Berdichevsky. The group also learned about the role of universities and researchers in the West Coast innovation ecosystem, at a visit to the University of California San Francisco Mission Bay, where Chancellor Sam Hawgood and team received together with researchers and active actors in BioTech and Life Science. At Stanford University Rector Marc Tessier-Lavigne talked about the university's vision for the future and the establishment of a new school for sustainability, the largest investment Stanford has made since 1980. At the Exploratorium Science Museum, the delegation listened to a panel of Nobel Laureates Elizabeth Blackburn, Saul Perlmutter and Paul Milgrom.
In Seattle they visited Amazon's flagship logistics center and the head office. At Microsoft's head office the group took part in several lectures on the company's work, global cyber security commitments and sustainability strategies. Boeing showed its manufacturing facility, its quality assurance efforts and presented its work to data-driven streamline the development of the next generation of aircraft. Sweden's Ambassador Karin Olofsdotter hosted a reception at the National Nordic Museum in Seattle. The reception rounded off the trip and the next day the delegation returned to Sweden.

Daniel attended today a meeting of the Board of Prince Daniel's Fellowship, it was held at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
 
Daniel attended yesterday at the meeting of the mentees and alumnis of The Prince Daniel's Fellowship. The meeting was held at the Royal Palace. After the lunch Janne Andersson, coach of the Swedish National Football team, gave a lecture about leadership. HC Hagman from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs spoke about the world situation and how it affects Swedish companies ans competitiveness.

On May 5, Prince Daniel's Fellowship will visit Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium (Nolaskolan). Inspirational lectures and roundtable discussions with students await here.
Prince Daniel and entrepreneurs Ashkan Pouya, Victoria Carlsson and Hugo Wernhoff talk about their experiences of running companies during an inspirational lecture. After that, about thirty students participate in roundtable discussions with the Prince and the entrepreneurs to get concrete tips and feedback on their own business ideas. When Daniel arrived, he was welcomed by Ole Petter Ottersen, President of Karolinska Institutet.
At the photos we see "Seminar with Honorary Doctors HRH Prince Daniel and Dr Soumya Swaminathan".
It seems that the seminar was organized in connection with the Doctoral Degree Conferment Ceremony this evening.

Daniel and and entrepreneurs Ashkan Pouya and Hugo Wernhoff visited Örnsköldsvik with Prince Daniel's Fellowship and its entrepreneurial programme.

Daniel gave an inspirational lecture in Nolaskolan and after that there was a roundtable discussion about self-employment with upper sedondary school students. Young entrepreneurs received concrete tips and feedback on their own business ideas.
Daniel says at the video that they want to encourage all young people who want to start a business.
Thea Örnerkrans was one of the students who got to meet Daniel, she told that Daniel was very nice and that she good some very good advice. Thea has written a cook book.
Daniel made also a company visit to BAE Systems Hägglunds during his Thursday afternoon in Örnsköldsvik.

It was no ordinary visit at Nolaskolan.
The students took the chance to get advice in entrepreneurship - from Prince Daniel, among others.

Later in the afternoon, Daniel and the delegation visited the company BAE Systems Hägglunds. There, the participants were given a presentation of the company and the opportunity to try out a tracked vehicle and combat vehicle.

About Daniel's visit to Örnsköldsvik

"I was very inspired"
Daniel said at the interview: I have this in me that I want to start stuff. Now that I have met Young Enterprise-entrepreneurs here and local entrepreneurs, who have come a little further, you notice that there is a community commitment and an environmental commitment, I do not know, it may come from the fact that you have such a wonderful environment here, you want to protect the sea and and the nice environment you have.
I always feel very inspired at these kind of visits. We have been on such visits a hundred times with talented entrepreneurs to meet young people. We want to inspire them, but I think we will be at least as inspired back.
I see this generation as very positive, everyone is so aware and well-read and insightful about what the world looks like, there is a lot of empathy and knowledge about many issues that exist in society.

The reporter asked Daniel about icehockey. Daniel said that he has grown up and followed and knows Modo hockey. And that he has another favorite team but he likes Modo, it would be fun if Modo joins the SHL. Has Daniel a favourit Modo player? Daniel said that he has frieds who have played in Modo (at least Peter "Foppa" Forsberg), nice guys.

Daniel is the guest of honour on Monday at the exhibition "Girls - leisure time - physical activity"
Researchers Åsa Kneck and Anders Kassman at Marie Cederschiöld University have for three years followed and interviewed girls to take part in their views on physical activity, leisure, sports and health.
On 16 May, research results will be presented in dialogue with decision-makers, young girls, immigrant parents, actors in civil society and representatives of schools in the form of a photo exhibition to give a voice to those who do not participate in the sports movement.
HRH Prince Daniel is the guest of honor.

Daniel handed out the Heart-Lung Foundation's major research grant to Professor Maria Lerm for her research on changes in the genome of people with covid-19. The research has the potential to provide results that may explain why some individuals suffer from severe infection or long-term covid.
Since 2008, the Heart-Lung Foundation has annually distributed an extra large research grant of SEK 15 million, which is divided to three years.
The Heart-Lung Foundation was founded in 1904 and Crown Prince Gustaf (later King Gustaf V) was its first patron. Since 2012, Daniel has distributed the Heart-Lung Foundation's large research grants, and since 2014, Daniel has been the honorary chairman of the Foundation.

Daniel had yesterday a meeting with Prince Daniel's Fellowship at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.

And he had a meeting at the Royal Palace with Director-General Karin Tegmark Wisell and unit manager Anna Jansson from The Public Health Agency.
 
Daniel inaugurated today Synsam's new Production and Innovation Center in Östersund with Synsam's President and CEO Håkan Lundstedt, the Minister for Business, Industry, and Innovation Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson and the Governor of Jämtland County Marita Ljung.

Today, the grand opening of the Nordics' first large-scale manufacturing industry for spectacle frames was held when Synsam Group's new Production and Innovation Center on Frösön opened.

Synsam has previously produced its glasses abroad, but with the construction of the new facility has moved its production to Sweden. Synsam's new center creates about 200 new jobs to Östersund.
Synsam's President and CEO Håkan Lundstedt is Daniel's longtime good friend and a mentor at Prince Daniel's Fellowship and its entrepreneurial programme.

On August 17, Daniel visited Östersund to attend the inauguration of Synsam's new production facility on Frösön. During the day in Östersund, he also met researchers at Mid Sweden University's Sports Tech Research Centre and young entrepreneurs during a lunch at the residence.
Daniel inaugurated Synsam Group's new production and innovation center on Frösön together with, among others, Minister of State Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson and Jämtland County Governor Marita Ljung. After the ribbon cutting Daniel was given a tour of the production facility and then had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the company's glasses.

Earlier in the day, Daniel visited Mid Sweden University's Sports Tech Research Centre. Interdisciplinary research is conducted there within innovative development and verification of products, materials, technology and methods, primarily for sports companies, hospitals and industry.
At lunchtime, Daniel met young entrepreneurs who were invited by the governor to share their experiences of entrepreneurship and business in the county.

The forum was arranged at Fotografiska in Stockholm by The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Scienc'es and Prins Daniel's Fellowship.
The purpose of the Day is to give young entrepreneurs an opportunity to be inspired, build networks and discuss experiences together. Daniel began the day with a conversation from the stage together with moderator Beata Wickbom.
Afterwards, leading entrepreneurs and business leaders offered lectures and talks, interspersed with round table discussions. Among others who spoke were Harald Mix (Altor), Peter Carlsson (Northvolt), Josefin Landgård (Mantle), Sebastian Siemiatkowski (Klarna) and Johanna Ingelsson (Equestrian).
The day ended with a joint dinner where leading managers from the banks Nordea, SEB, Swedbank and Handelsbanken talked about the global situation.

The purpose of the prizes that were awarded is to promote Swedish exports and at the same time encourage companies to export. The government also wishes to draw attention to the counties where cooperation between regional actors is great and where companies are particularly meritorious in persuading companies to succeed in their export efforts.

Daniel visited today Getinge. Getinge's main owner is Carl Bennet, a member of the Steering Group of Prince Daniel's Fellowship.

The royal court posted finally today about Daniel's visit to Getinge, a global supplier of products for operating rooms, intensive care units, sterile centers as well as companies and institutions in life science. Daniel visited the company's operations in intensive care in Solna. The company has over 10,000 employees and operates in more than 40 countries. The main owner Carl Bennet participated also in the visit.

On September 8, Daniel attended Stockholm Impact Week at Norrsken House. The event recognizes start-ups every year that use scalable technology to solve global challenges.
At Stockholm Impact Week, Impact/100 was presented - a list of the world's hundred most promising start-up companies, so-called "impact startups". The list is unranked, but each year a number of prizes are awarded in different categories. Daniel visited today Karlstad University with Prince Daniel's Fellowship and its entrepreneurial programme with the aim of inspiring future entrepreneurs. He had with him Storytel founder Jonas Tellander and Sara Wimmercranz, founder of the venture capital company Backingminds. The conversation attracted many students and Young Enterprise entrepreneurs.
Daniel said that it is incredibly rewarding and there is such a desire and curiosity for the issue. The students are interested and ask a lot of questions and he thinks they fulfill a function there.
After arriving by train in Karlstad, there was lunch at the residence with local entrepreneurs.
Daniel's best advice to future entrepreneurs:
- I think it is good to dare to ask and contact an experienced entrepreneur and take the chance to have coffee and get to test your idea on someone who has run a business successfully.

Daniel had today meetings at The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences:
He participated in a meeting with new mentees and mentors in the Prince Daniel's Fellowship mentoring program. At today's meeting, this year's mentees had the opportunity to meet to get information about the program, ask questions and get to know each other. Anders Hansen and Jacob de Geer spoke to the mentees at the meeting.

Daniel attends today Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Misum) Forum at the Stockholm School of Economics. He gave the opening remarks. Among other speakers were Marcus Wallenberg and Carl Bennet from the Steering Group of The Prince Daniel's Fellowship and its entrepreneurial programme.

Daniel delivered this afternoon at Oscarsteatern The Heart-Lung Foundation's Prince Daniel's Research Grant for Promising Young Researchers to Andreas Edsfeldt, docent at Lund University and doctor at the heart clinic, Skåne University Hospital in Malmö, for his research on type 2 diabetes which is expected to lead to new treatments that prevent heart attacks and strokes.

On 9 November, the Prince Daniel's Fellowship visits Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. An inspiring lecture and round table discussion with students are at the program.
Daniel talks with entrepreneurs Niklas Adalberth, Caroline Walerud and Anders Forslund about their experiences of running companies at an inspirational lecture. Later, around thirty students participate in a round table discussion with Daniel and the inspirers to share concrete tips and feedback regarding the students' business ideas.

Margareta Thorgren says often, that the court puts to its calendar only part of the work events of the royal family members. Last week Daniel had a meeting, which isn't at the calendar.

Last week Daniel met Evin Cetin, lawyer and author at Haga Palace. Evin posted a photo to her Facebook
"Last week I received a call from Haga Palace and the Royal Palace employees. On the phone, I was told that Prince Daniel wanted to invite me to Haga Palace to talk about the book "Mitt ibland oss". About the children, young people, and development(..)

The Royal Court about Daniel's visit to Gothenburg yesterday with the Prince Daniel's Fellowship.
They visited Chalmers Ventures' entrepreneurial school and the company Heart Aerospace.
At Chalmers Ventures three students gave a two-minute pitch of their companies and then a conversation was held on stage between Daniel and inspirers Niklas Adalberth/founder of Klarna, Caroline Walerud/one of the founders of Volumental and Anders Forslund/founder of Heart Aerospace. After lunch, Daniel and the inspirers had round-table discussions with the students, who could ask further questions, and receive concrete tips regarding their business ideas.
Every two years, the Prince Daniel's Fellowship chooses a number of young entrepreneurs to participate as mentees in a two-year mentoring program. They receive a hand-picked mentor from the business world with the aim of supporting entrepreneurship. Daniel visited one of the program's former mentees, Anders Forslund, the CEO of Heart Aerospace. The company is working on developing electric passenger aircraft for regional transport.
