Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel's Visit to the Baltic States: 2018
The Crown Princess Couple will undertake official visits to the Baltic states in connections with their centennial of Independences.
The dates for the three visit are:
Lithuania - Friday 16th February
Latvia - Friday 27th April
Estonia - Sunday 19th August

The visit to Lithuania will take place on 16th February to mark their Independence Day, and a day that marks Lithuania's freedom. The date is seen as a link between the historical and modern Lithuania.
The Crown Princess Couple will take part in the official ceremonies in Vilnius as well as an event at the Swedish Embassy marking UN's Global Goals.

Victoria and Daniel met today experts from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs to gain in-depth knowledge of Lithuania prior to the visit to Vilnius.
On Friday, February 16, the Crown Princess couple visits Lithuania and its capital Vilnius. The Crown Princess couple attends the official ceremonies in Vilnius and meets schoolchildren to draw attention to their future work with the UN's global sustainable development goals.
Prior to the visit, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs informed the Crown Princess couple about current issues in Lithuania.

Victoria and Daniel don't attend at the concert.
- The Crown Princess couple does not attend any concert on the visit to Vilnius, said Ulrika Näsholm, information officer at the court.
Their visit to Vilnius will only be over the day and will end with a visit to the Swedish Embassy's residence. There they will meet students who have worked on an essay competition on the UN's global sustainability development goals.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband Prince Daniel. The Royal couple attended festive events of the centennial of the restoration of the state of Lithuania.
At the bilateral meeting, state relations between Lithuania and Sweden, cooperation in the areas of economy, energy and security as well as common interests in the European Union were discussed.
According to the President, Sweden is a strategic partner of Lithuania that firmly supported our efforts to re-establish the independent state. Now, it is the biggest foreign investor and one of the most important trade partner. Both countries enjoy intensive relations in strategically important sectors of banking, telecommunications and energy.
At the meeting, enhancement of defense was also discussed. Although Sweden is not a member of NATO, its role is interlinked with the defense of the entire region.
The President and the Princess talked about the problems related to gender equality and equal opportunities. The heir to the Swedish throne is a goodwill ambassador of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. For achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, Lithuania focusses on stopping violence against women.
The President expressed gratitude to the Swedish Embassy for its proactive contribution to the social security campaign „For A Safe Lithuania“. Crown Princess Victoria pays particular attention to social and charitable activities as she patronizes foundations and NGO’s that provide support.
The President also invited Crown Princess Victoria to attend the Women Political Leaders‘ summit to be held in Vilnius in June.

Svensk Damtidning has an article about Victoria and Daniel's visit to Vilnius. President Dalia Grybauskaitė welcomed her swedish guests very warmly. Victoria answered: "Congratulations on your big day! It is a great honor for us to be here". At the lunch Daniel talked with the president of Estonia and Victoria sat beside the wife of the German president. It was an intensive day, and important, even to Victoria and Daniel. At the embassy's residence Victoria and Daniel talked about sustainability with the students, and Victoria said in her speech: "I think about your past, your history, everything your country has gone through. Your ancestors and the people of Lithuania".

Crown Princess couple is welcomed by Latvia's President Raimonds Vējonis and his wife, Iveta Vējone. After that, the Crown Princess couple visits the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and talks about the future work with the UN Sustainable Development Goals with participants from the Future Leaders Academy's leadership program. The Crown Princess and the Prince of Sweden will pay a visit to Latvia
On Friday, 27 April 2018, upon the invitation of President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden will pay a visit to Latvia.
The President of Latvia stressed, “Latvia and Sweden share both the geographical location on the shores of the Baltic Sea and a common history of more than a thousand years. Democracy, freedom, and solidarity are the values that we stand for and are ready to defend today.”
During the visit, HRH Crown Princess and HRH Prince of Sweden will visit the Riga Castle, where they will meet with President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone. During the visit, a painting, a replica of the portrait of Mr Erik Jonsson Dahlberg, the Governor of Vidzeme and Riga, will be unveiled at the Riga Castle. The portrait is painted according to the original materials of Swedish painter David Klocker Ehrenstrahle by Ms Kristīne Ķibermane, the student of the Latvian Academy of Art.
After visiting the Riga Castle, HRH Crown Princess of Sweden and HRH Prince will visit the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, where they will meet with Rector Anders Paalzow and representatives of the Future Leaders Academy program. In addition, a visit to the National Library of Latvia is planned, where the exchange of state gifts will take place. HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and HRH Prince Daniel will donate a book to the People’s Bookshelf and attend exhibition “In the Trails of Boat Refugees” together with the President of Latvia and First Lady Iveta Vējone.
