They discussed about whether they in the countryside benefit from corona, if more people move to coastal communities to get closer to nature now. They told about their previous visit to Väderöarna and Tanum's beautiful nature. Victoria and Daniel wanted to to send warm greetings to the municipal residents.

Then he heard from a municipal director he knews that it was for real, that several municipalities had received similar posts.
Victoria and Daniel asked about the corona effects, how the population, the municipality and the business community had been affected. They specifically asked how the restaurants are doing in Vadstena. Victoria and Daniel asked how they work with the schools, they had heard about Vadstena's good school results. Karlsson was pleasantly surprised by Victoria and Daniel's homely and light-hearted tone.
- It was a very nice conversation, much more relaxed approach than I had prepared for. The Crown Princess couple are very interested in society and committed, so their interest in Vadstena felt genuine.

Digital meetings with the municipalities continue, at least two meetings yesterday, 12th April.

The first meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Christian Sonesson, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Staffanstorp Municipality.
- It was a rewarding and very nice conversation. It is impressive how Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel take the time to talk to me and my colleagues in the other municipalities around Sweden. They showed great commitment and a genuine interest in how we in Staffanstorp handle the pandemic, says Christian Sonesson.
Sunesson told to Victoria and Daniel how they as a municipality were quick to make a number of decisions, already in February last year, to minimize the spread of infection. People help each other spontaneously, partly in the form of well-organized volunteer work.
The conversation also touched on Staffanstorp's popularity both as a housing and entrepreneurial municipality. Another topic was the business community in the municipality and the challenges the pandemic has posed for many entrepreneurs and in what ways the municipality has tried to facilitate when possible.

The second meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Carina Sammeli, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Luleå Municipality.
- They were well-read and curious about the situation in Luleå and Norrbotten. It was noticed that the Crown Princess couple has a genuine interest in hearing how things are going here.
Sammeli tells that they had a longer discussion about health, even for those who have not become ill with corona. The restrictions have affected everyone's opportunity for exercise and movement in everyday life, and the pandemic has led to increased loneliness and mental illness. They also talked about the challenges that exist for companies in affected industries.
Victoria and Daniel were also very interested in the investments planned in Norrbotten and Luleå, and the climate change of the industry led from northern Sweden. They discussed about what Luleå can do to attract more people to the region.

Digital meetings with the municipalities continue, at least four meetings today, 14th April.

Victoria and Daniel had in the morning a meeting with Ulrika Jeansson, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Finspång Municipality. They talked about the corona pandemic, but also about public health, Finspång's future and one of the crown princess couple's wedding gifts.
- It was a rewarding and very nice conversation. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were interested in how we feel and how we have handled the pandemic and the challenges it has brought. I told that Finspång was affected early but since then we have managed relatively well thanks to all our fantastic employees and their efforts. It required enormous work, large and rapid changes and new ways of working under great pressure, says Ulrika Jeansson.
They talked about the business community and the industries' need to change. Victoria was interested in Rejmyre and they talked about the glassworks, they see a bright future and the coming summer tourism after the pandemic. Victoria and Daniel said that they often get questions about their fine wedding gift - a lamp created by Ernst Billgren and the glassworks. Daniel asked about the challenges, they talked about the great needs of the supply of skills, both in the high-tech supply of skills in and with their industry.
They agreed on the importance of association life for the children and young people, the impact of public health and the importance of moving. They also talked about positive changes that have taken place in the past year: the citizens use the nature and nature reserves extensively.

The second meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Stig Bertilsson, Chair of the Executive Committee of Bengtsfors municipality. In addition to the pandemic they also discussed business, hospitality and education.
Victoria and Daniel were particularly interested in the investment being made around Campus Dalsland and looked forward to following that work further. Bertilsson pointed out that there is a duke or duchess in both Värmland and Västergötland, but Dalsland doesn't have such type of representative. Victoria laughed and replied that there would be no additional duke or duchess on their part, but that they would carry the wish forward within the family.
- It was a nice meeting and they had even noticed that it was my birthday today, says Stig Bertilsson.

The third meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Mats Gerdau, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Nacka Municipality. They talked above all the corona situation and the challenges that follow from the pandemic. But the conversation was also about Nacka's urban development with the metro, new housing and creating new pleasant environments and at the same time preserving our beautiful nature.

The fourth meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Marie Oudin, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Kristinehamn Municipality.
They talked about the business community in Kristinehamn, the challenges of association life due to the current pandemic situation and the upcoming defense establishment.
- It was a very rewarding and fun conversation, although of course it will be a bit special with the digital form and Teams. The Crown Princess couple were very friendly and I had the opportunity to highlight many good things that are happening and are underway in Kristinehamn, not least the elderly care's important contribution during the corona, says Marie Oudin.

In Pajala, residents and companies have also been affected by the border closures, Victoria and Daniel wished that it will not affect the relations between the communities closest to the borders. They also received information about Kaunis Iron and what an extremely positive impact that establishment has on the municipality. They talked also about wind power, association life, transport, business and a little about aviation.

Digital meetings with the municipalities continued today, 21st April, at least three meetings.
Victoria and Daniel had a meeting with municipal councilor Pierre Månsson from Kristianstad Municipality.

The Crown Princess couple showed great interest and great appreciation for how we managed to run camps, summer holiday activities and holiday jobs last year, when so many other municipalities pulled down or canceled.
They talked about the pandemic's challenges for the municipality, not least in elderly care. After their talks with a large number of municipalities, Victoria and Daniel are well acquainted with the difficulties that the municipalities have had to deal with. The conversation was most intense when it came to children, sports and association life and about the lack of sports events and youth cups. The third meeting on Monday 19th April Victoria and Daniel had with Mikael Rubin, the Chair of the Executive Committee and municipal director Fredrik Geijer from Trelleborg Municipality. They talked about the pandemic, but also the development plans that involve 5,000 homes in new coastal districts.

The invitation is still very much relevant, Mikael Rubin confirms. So maybe Victoria and Daniel will soon pay a physical visit to Trelleborg?

Victoria and Daniel have met Kjell Öjeryd, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Sorsele Municipality. Obviously the meeting was in February.
Öjeryd told about the meeting:
Had the privilege of meeting Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel digitally. They wanted to know how we and our companies coped with the pandemic. I was proud of our municipality because our infection situation at that time was very good with talented citizens who follow the restrictions that apply. Unfortunately, the infection situation has deteriorated since then. Told that the hospitality industry is most affected. Our other companies, for example in the wood industry, have done well.

More information about Victoria and Daniel's meeting with Marith Hesse, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Partille Municipality on 20th April. She has told to Göteborgs-Posten about the meeting.
The conversation lasted 30 minutes and Marith Hesse tells that Victoria and Daniel told about their covid disease and that they were lucky to have recovered well.
- I think it's a way to compensate that they usually go around and visit different places. Then this has become a way to solve it during the pandemic. I've not talked to them before. It's clear that it was a bit nervous before, it's not every day you talk to royalty and think about all the rules you have to abide by. But they were very nice and easy to talk to. I think it was honorable and nice of them to spend time on how we feel in the municipalities. The 30 minutes went very fast, says Marith Hesse.

Digital meetings with the municipalities continue, at least five meetings today.

Victoria and Daniel had a meeting with the Chair of the Executive Committee Ebba Östlin and Chief of Staff Nadina Rosengren from Botkyrka Municipality.
We highlighted our fantastic Botkyrka for the Crown Princess couple! The strong growth, rising school results, housing construction, investments in violence prevention and our fantastic civil society. The minutes went too fast but still we had time to graze from all this! It is simply not possible to talk enough about Botkyrka and the Crown Princess couple are warmly welcomed back when the restrictions have eased.

The second meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Sven Tornberg, the Chair of the Executive Committee of the City of Haparanda.
Victoria and Daniel wanted to hear how the municipality has handled the pandemic and how staff, residents and society at large have been affected.
- Of course I raised the border issue and our challenges there. I also told about all our fantastic employees, especially in health and care. None of us have previously experienced a pandemic, which required enormous work, rapid adjustments and new ways of working under great pressure, Tornberg says.
The importance of being able to look ahead was emphasized, even though we do not yet see the end of the pandemic. Tornberg told that there is a lot going on in Haparanda, such as the start of passenger traffic on the Haparanda line to Robinson. They also talked about the large investments that are now being made in both northern Sweden and Finland.
- It was a very nice conversation. They were curious about Haparanda, our current situation and our future, Tornberg concludes.

The fifth meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Hans Bertil Sinclair, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Klippan Municipality.
- It was a very nice meeting where I could tell more about our municipality and the challenges that the municipality has had during the pandemic, says Hans Bertil.
He told how the municipality has worked with crisis management and been able to quickly reorganize and adapt their activities, especially in health and care, school, culture and leisure. They made early decisions about special purchases of protective equipment and visit restrictions on their special accommodation to keep the infection away. Victoria and Daniel were impressed by Klippan's initiative to make this purchase through good contacts as well as purchase of the ambulance.
Daniel was particularly interested in what the business life looked like and what consequences the pandemic had. Victoria and Daniel were also interested in the business at Ljungbyhed and they talked also about the relationship with the airport in Ängelholm, business start-ups and housing construction. They also looked ahead and talked about how the municipality looks at the time after the pandemic.
At the end of an almost 30 minute long meeting, Sinclair thanked for a very rewarding and pleasant conversation and welcomed the Crown Princess couple's family, and not least the Duke of Skåne, Prince Oscar, to Klippan municipality with many worthy places to visit and not least the Prince's Playground in Skäralid when the pandemic is over.

The third meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Anders Wigelsbo, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Sala Municipality.
Victoria and Daniel wanted to know how the staff in elderly care are feeling now after the tough work during the pandemic. Anders Wigelsbo informed about the situation and what the municipality intends to do in the future to deal with the effects of the crisis.
On Walpurgis Night, there is an extensive spontaneous cruising in Sala with hundreds of American vintage cars. Wigelsbo said that in an interview in Radio P4 Västmanland he had urged those who cruise and those who watch to be happy, but to avoid being hugged, you have to live at the same time as you need to be careful. Victoria and Daniel thought it was a good message.
Unemployment has risen in Sala during the pandemic, it is now just over nine %. The hospitality industry, service companies and restaurants have been hit hard. They talked about Sala's local business life, what it looks like and how it could be supplemented, for example with more jobs for the highly educated.
Victoria said that her visit to the Sala Silver Mine had left a great impression on her. Wigelsbo spoke about the royal family's strong connection to Sala through the silver mine and about the mine's significance for the hospitality industry.

The fourth meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Urban Granström, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Nyköping Municipality.
Urban Granström tells that he told about the situation in care, school and the municipality in general. Victoria and Daniel shared his thoughts on how the pandemic has affected the young. Both the risk that more people will stop playing sports and that distance education means that some will have difficulty passing the grades. For many, school also means a lot of social, it is not just a place where you get education.
They talked a bit about the companies' opportunities. Granström told that they attracted people in the IT sector not to commute to Stockholm for work but to stay in Nyköping in the companies.
- I think it is good that the Crown Princess couple is involved in what issues the municipalities are struggling with and how the pandemic has affected the country. They said that they are impressed with everything that is done and they ended by greeting everyone who lives and works in Nyköping.

The fifth meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Tobias Bernhardsson, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Färgelanda Municipality.

The sixth meeting Victoria and Daniel had with the Chair of the Executive Committee Meeri Wasberg and municipal director Magnus Gyllestad from Haninge Municipality.
The initiatives made during the pandemic to support the association life and the local business community in both large and small were highlighted. The efforts made to encourage both residents and temporary visitors to take advantage of Haninge's fantastic nature when the opportunity for indoor activities have been very severely limited were also part of the conversation. They talked also about the municipality's growth, business issues and unemployment.
Victoria and Daniel reflected on the challenges that exist in the activities in view of the municipality's large geography, and then the special archipelago support given to the island schools was given as an example.
- Since mid-January, the Crown Princess Couple has spoken to municipalities in different parts of Sweden. The reason for the conversation is that the Crown Princess couple wishes to receive information about the current situation in the municipality during the pandemic and how the municipality is working forward. For the Crown Princess couple, it is important to listen, and get the local picture of what great challenges the Swedish people have to deal with in the situation we are in today, says Lena Bartholdsson, Marshal of the Court and Head of HRH The Crown Princess's Household.
- It was a very nice and spontaneous conversation and there was a lot to talk about and tell about the municipality, Meeri Wasberg concludes.

And information and photo from yesterday of Victoria and Daniel's meeting with Tobias Bernhardsson, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Färgelanda Municipality.
- It is an admirable initiative by the Crown Princess Couple to visit the municipalities in this way during the pandemic and they also show a genuine commitment and interest. I told about how proud we are about our rich association life that stands for community for all ages, builds culture and puts the municipality on the map. Examples were the Färgelanda Cup, which would have celebrated its 30th anniversary last year if the pandemic had not struck, and Dagsholms Golfklubb, which has recently been named Europe's most hospitable golf course. A very special connection for the Crown Princess couple and Färgelanda was pointed out. It was namely the case that at Her Majesty's wedding, were served quail eggs from Olstorp in Färgelanda.
They talked about the proximity to an outstanding nature and the opportunities they see connected to outdoor life, they see the increased interest in nature and they will take advantage of it in the future. They talked also about a large labor market and ambition to increase construction. They talked about Kroppefjäll, where new hiking trails are now taking shape together with local actors and regional Västkuststiftelsen.

Found a meeting Victoria and Daniel had on 26th March with Emma Feldman, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Järfälla Municipality. That was the sixth meeting on that day.
They spoke about the pandemic and Emma Feldman told about the development of Barkarbystaden, nature and outdoor areas and the most current issues in Järfälla.

Victoria and Daniel have also had a meeting with municipal councilor Catharina Bråkenhielm from Orust Municipality. She told about the meeting to Stenungsund newspaper. The date of the meeting hasn't been told.
Dogs common interest for the crown princess and municipal councilor
Bråkenhielm tells that Daniel was knowledgeable and well-read about Orust's problem, year-round houses are sold and become holiday homes. The holiday homes are inhabited for large parts of the year, but the property owners are registered in another municipality, meaning that Orust bears the costs but receives no tax revenue. Daniel saw this as a big issue and a problem which he thought Bråkenhielm (former member of the Riksdag) should talk with her party members. Holiday homes, often located in cultural-historical environments, also involve many building permit applications.
Victoria and Daniel showed great interest in Orust's cultural environment. They are planning a visit to Orust during the year and asked for tips on suitable excursion destinations. They knew Käringön well.
Bråkenhielm has a great interest in dogs and worked in Riksdag to get dogs into care and school. Victoria shares the commitment for working dogs in health and care.
- We talked for a long time about dogs, about their dog Rio and about the benefits that dogs can do in care. Prince Daniel is allergic to dogs, but he can handle this poodle mixed breed. The breed he prefers is a Labrador, but it is not possible due to his allergy.
- It was a really fun and rewarding conversation, we talked about what is close to their hearts. They are both sincerely interested and had read on before the meeting. I have talked to the Crown Princess when I was in the Riksdag, but this became something completely different. It would be nice if the Crown Princess and her family would visit Orust.

On 28th April the day's seventh meeting Victoria and Daniel had with Morgan E Andersson, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Mellerud Municipality.
They talked about the covid-19 pandemic, how it affected Mellerud's residents, businesses, the hospitality industry and associations. Andersson told how the municipality has changed and that the crisis has reminded them that we need each other in society. He highlighted the work of their employees who have made admirable efforts.
They spoke about the collaboration with the other Dalsland municipalities in the environment, tourism, culture and higher education through the Campus Dalsland initiative, and about challenges ahead but also hopes for the future for Mellerud after the pandemic.
- It was a nice and relaxed conversation, says Morgan E Andersson, who appreciated Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel's genuine commitment and interest in the municipalities' situation and that they are open to meeting digitally when the pandemic sets limits for traditional visits.

The seventh meeting with the municipalities on 29th April Victoria and Daniel had with Mats Nilsson, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Säter Municipality. The municipality tells about the meeting today at its website.
They talked about the strained Corona situation, which meant many challenges for Säter municipality. Nilsson told Victoria and Daniel that they have a high spread of infection right now, and the younger ages are also affected. Victoria and Daniel asked about the economic situation and Nilsson told about their large surplus last year, but also that they need to be careful in the coming years because it is an uncertain time ahead of us regarding the labor market in particular.
- During the pandemic it has risen from low 2.9 percent to 4.3 percent, which is a smaller increase than feared.
Victoria and Daniel were sorry about the situation with the closure of Kvarnsveden's paper mill in Säter's neighboring municipality Borlänge.
Victoria and Daniel told to Nilsson that they had visited Säter before.
- They have been here and visited the crispbread production in Stora Skedvi, and they said that they appreciate both Skedvi bread and Gustafskorv (smoked sausage made from horse meat), and that these are two brands that the municipality can be proud of, says Nilsson.

Digital meetings with the municipalities continued today.

Victoria and Daniel had a meeting with Bino Drummond, the Chair of the Executive Committee of Norrtälje Municipality.
They were very interested in how the situation is and has been due to the pandemic and asked about the effects it had on the elderly and increased isolation, about youth sports and the restrictions that made it difficult for young people to practice team sports, and also about the risk of increased mental illness, especially among upper secondary school students who have had a difficult time with long-term distance studies.
They talked about Norrtälje's positive migration flow in recent years. Many came from Stockholm and other region's municipalities to enable their housing dreams.
Victoria and Daniel asked about the social services and they talked about the need for early detection and the importance of children and young people receiving help and support in time, both for their own sake and for the sake of society.
Drummond invited Victoria and Daniel to Norrtälje's 400th anniversary next year.

Municipal councilor Bengt Hilmersson from Vårgårda Municipality told to Alingsås Tidning newspaper about his meeting with Victoria and Daniel on 19th April. Hilmersson said that they are incredibly nice. You see them on TV and then they seem nice but they were even nicer. It was fun that they had taken the initiative for the meeting. Victoria and Daniel knew Autoliv and Doggy, and they told that their dog eats Doggymat, the dog ran around in the background.
Victoria and Daniel also talked about their work with children and young people's health through Generation Pep, where Vårgårda is a pilot municipality.
