What is the protocol? It is not an official state visit - it is a trade visit: I would be surprised if they met any members of the royal family. IT is a very full 2 day programme for the CP couple, including a trip to Cambridge.

So William and Kate are free..They can atleast accompany them to an event or so..When Charles and Camilla visit Scandivania just to commemorate Diamond Jubilee, they were accompanied everywhere by the monarch-couples, or the heir couples at the least..Again as usual, when they are in UK, no one bothers..
I dont know how to perceive it.. Maybe its just that the Scandi royals have long back stopped to expect their BRF counterparts to reciprocate their "over-enthusiasm/affection"..

I too think that the Scandinavian royals do not expect to have polite welcome from the parsimonious in all respects British royal family. I assume that it would have been possible for Earl and Countess of Wessex to free some time and greet Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel in London. As we know, they met on multiple occasions.
