The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor February 1, 2013 Blog mentioned that Sophie, The Countess of Wessex, "also wears a Welsh gold band, but doesn't always wear her wedding set these days".

It is all culture. No right or wrong. Here in the States, we wear it on our left hand.

Generally, the idea of putting it on your left hand is that most people are right handed so the rings are less likely be damaged if they are on the hand that you dont use so muich. but tehre is no right and wrong about it...
