Does anyone know whether there was more than one Katherine Bowes-Lyon?

The reason I ask is that any Google search I do comes up with the famous one, the sister of Nerissa, who was supposedly in Earlswood Hospital in Surrey from 1941.

However I recently saw a visitors book up for sale at auction which clearly had the signature of Katherine Bowes Lyon on the 21st of August 1946.

Was there more than one Katherine?

There was an Edith Katherine Selby-Bigge Bowes-Lyon (1889-1971). She was the wife of Captain Geoffrey Bowes-Lyon.

Newspapers referred to her as Mrs. Katherine Bowes-Lyon, so I think you found the right person. In the 1950s she ran a coffee lounge in Mayfair where she also sold butter and cream from her son-in-law's farm.

Thanks for the replies. I think that's the mystery solved.

Geoffrey Bowes-Lyon is the son of The Honourable Francis Bowes-Lyon (1856-1948). Francis was a son of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 13th Earl of Strathmore. Thus Geoffrey and Francis are related to Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore.
