It is probably photo-shopped given that both subjects are in their 90's. Maybe both of them were not feeling up to it on the same day. Remember, this family really likes to control their image and would not want pictures of the DoE or the Queen out there not looking the picture of perfect health

Well, here is the official explanation. It wasn't photoshopped; apparently it was photographed in a quadrangle of Windsor Castle where the Queen and Prince Philip would have been illuminated differently.

I don't know much about photography, so I have no idea if this makes sense:

Princess Elizabeth, Duke of Edinburgh and Lady Mountbatten (I assumed it's Edwina Mountbatten, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, who was the Duke of Edinburgh's aunt) attended the Royal Film Premiere of ‘The Lady With A Lamp’ at the Warner Theatre in London in 1951.

Princess Elizabeth was wearing Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara and Greville Ruby and Diamond Floral Bandeau Necklace.

Thank you. These photos are lovely.
Queen Elizabeth has always been so good looking while also reflective in her demeanour.

On the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II’s first state visit to Sweden in 1956 (which coincided with the Equestrian Olympic Games held in Stockholm) a gala performance was given at the Drottningholm Court Theatre.
Its first museum director, Professor Agne Beijer, is here seen demonstrating the original machinery (to the left the ‘wind’ machine) of the theatre for Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret and King Gustaf VI Adolf.

Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret starred in the Christmas Pantomime of "Old Mother Red Riding Boots" at Windsor in 1944. Funds generated from the pantomime went to the Royal Household Wool Fund, which provided comfort for troops serving in WWII.

Thank you I flower for the link of unseen pictures of the Queen and PP. I love the one of her with a hooded cloak petting the horses nose. So long ago.

He came to visit a youth club/organisation that my mum was in, in about 1960. He'd have been nearly 40 by then, but she said he was incredibly handsome!

Prince Philip met every US President since President Harry Truman. He accompanied The Queen on 451 trips abroad. That's a lot of travel. He visited Australia 21 times and I saw him in Tamworth with The Queen in 1977. The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme operated in 144 countries. And he and Prince Bernard of the Netherlands were instrumental in getting The World Wildlife Fund up and running. Just a few of the many things he accomplished.
