All this is so exquisitely poignant. :(

These are the insignia that will accompany the Duke of Edinburgh at his funeral.
They will be arranged on the coffin and on nine cushions on the altar in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Oh geez. The coffin with Philip’s Naval hat and staff (?)...Just wrenching, so final

Which are the standards in the coffin? The blue and white is looking like the Greek royal flag, but couldn't be

I cannot breathe. So emotional.

The farewell he deserved!

The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal
The Duke of York and The Earl of Wessex

The Duke of Cambridge, Peter Phillips and The Duke of Sussex

The Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence and The Earl of Snowden.

Followed by six gentleman I do not know.

Charles and Anne just looks heartbroken.

The coffin on the Land Rover, the procession...?????

I hope the cameras do not dwell on the mourners, particularly the Queen.

Oh the royal family bowing their heads as he passes, that got me.

The wreath of white roses and lilies selected by The Queen, and his naval cap and sword given to him by King George.

Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece is following the broadcast of the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral at CNN, he is a commentator, I am following it on CNN live on the internet, but it has no comments on the broadcast, On television yes ???

What a beautiful day, and a beautiful ceremony ...

Its live on Irish TV also a sign of more progressive times with flags at half mast on all State buildings as a mark of respect for our nearest neighbour.

My hurts aches for the Queen. She looks so frail, so lost.

That's good to know.

The Burial Sentences

I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live:
and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

John 11. 25-26

I know that my redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
and though after my skin worms destroy this body,
yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Whom I shall see for myself,
and mine eyes shall behold, and not another.

Job 19. 25-27

WE brought nothing into this world,
and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away;
blessed be the name of the Lord.

1 Timothy 6. 7, Job 1. 21

William Croft (1678-1727)

Eternal Father, strong to save, Whose arm doth bind the restless wave, Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep, Its own appointed limits keep; O hear us when we cry to thee, For those in peril on the sea.

O Saviour, whose almighty word, The winds and waves submissive heard, Who walkedst on the foaming deep, And calm amid its rage didst sleep: O hear us when we cry to thee, For those in peril on the sea.

O sacred Spirit, who didst brood Upon the chaos dark and rude, Who bad'st its angry tumult cease, And gavest light and life and peace: O hear us when we cry to thee, For those in peril on the sea.

O Trinity of love and power, Our brethren shield in danger's hour; From rock and tempest, fire and foe, Protect them whereso'er they go: And ever let there rise to thee, Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

I feel for those attending who have no partner present for support.

Beautiful arrangement of the hymn under the circumstances

Did you see what just happened? Some strange woman ran shouting out from the crowds and was immediately hustled off by security police?!
